  1. I remember one of these being restored by Fred Hoch in the early 70s. very few of them exist.
  2. orphan cars are wonderful, till you need parts. you better be a machinist or have a big wallet.............. why I now spend so much time on model A Fords.
  3. Back in the day a 2-door business coupe was the cheapest in the line. funny, because I always understood it to be the roadsters......... nothing to them.
  4. just pulled out 3 random 40 titles............ 2 have 10 digits and one has 11 digits- all are KA all give engine numbers, which vary greatly
  5. I think that is why Henry went with it. I believe it was to save money and dry time. original Ts came in colors as did the late Ts. he used color to make sales.............
  6. thank you. interesting takes...........
  7. Ive always used rustoleum on the underside chassis of my cars. The por 15 looks to be much better............ my concerns of getting this stuff on myself and not getting it off. please give me your opinions and any other products that might be better? I am not going to paint over rust, but clean it well and then apply.
  8. My wages have gone nowhere in years and are down considerably this year compared to last year. and who's fault is that? Being born in America puts you in the top 10% of the world. try getting some rice in Nigeria to survive.............. could this all be about your attitude?
  9. mine is rotted- neednt be perfect, just solid rdz69@aol.com 08054
  10. I will be looking for good wood for my 41 ford woody while at Hershey................ rdz69@aol.com
  11. take a vacation day or two............. work will always be there.
  12. 28 and 29 look more like a T and the 30-31 had the new styling. Henry had to compete with the new for 29, 6 cylinder Chevy. so wheels are larger on 28-29, and bumpers are straight on 30-31. Also Henry offered almost 2x the amount of different bodies in 30-31. Expanding into vickys, deliveries, cabriolets in 29 and the A 400 and model 68 for 30-31. He had to capture the publics interest to stay relevant into the depression........
  13. My first reaction when I saw Hemmings was getting in the auction business was this move was bound to piss-off their current customers. I just don’t see how this offering works out for them. many magazines are going out of business, due to subscriber loss........... they are most likely desperate.
  14. there is a 1918 listed on HCCA. Question is, what motor does it have in it? Not the Duesenberg apparently.
  15. just like a spouse............ damn straight! HAHA glad my wife doesnt read this site.
  16. EBay is for BS artists. could be and I know the sell through rate is prob not more then 40%, BUT I did sell 3 cars on there in the last 2 months and was QUITE pleased with the prices they brought. All were projects and in worse condition. everything priced right sells, working from the top down, as Ive mentioned repeatedly, usually doesnt work and interest disappears...........
  17. looks like a 52 to me.....................
  18. Something I don’t think was mentioned yet is the fact that a significant demand for early Fords comes from the hot rod crowd. It seems the OP is valuing his Model A alongside coupes, roadsters and pickups. To a novice hobbiest that seems reasonable however you have to understand that Fordors are not desirable to hot rodders or even people who like improving the performance of a stock looking car. Model AA trucks suffer the same fate to a lesser degree but the cabs are still favored by hot rodders so they are arguably more desirable than a Fordor. Think of your car like a four door Corvair. People might get a kick out of seeing it but few want to own it. When the entry price is cheap you can still have the same amount of fun in the hobby just don’t expect much at sale time. actually with the stock crowd, four doors are more desirable then tudors these days. more room for touring and taking people with you. The tudor was the highest selling body style in the day and the cheapest to come by today. they are everywhere for 5-7k.
  19. I am the new owner of said car......................... I can use a lot of wood........... rdz69@aol.com
  20. 35-40k by what youve stated sounds about right................. nice stock ones can be bought for 25k
  21. what do you have? need door wood and front windshield header. need most of it. also have a rear pair of fenders to sell or trade in very nice shape. rdz69@aol.com
