  1. I almost bought a 1990 white/red vert and it had pinstripes. When it fell thru this one ended up in my lap. I was unsure about not having red pinstripes on the car but now that I see it in person, I am sold. I love pinstripes a lot but now I also like the clean look of no stripes with white body molding. When I first started I would have prefered black molding and stripes, go figure??
  2. Thanks Nittany. Love your color combo with the black top, wow! I spy with my little eye dual exhaust as well. I wish you were an engineer with Buick division in 1991, I like it lots!
  3. Really Nice Marck, beauty! My car was in FLA for some of it's life and I got her in Cali. Did your rims come with the car or did you add them later?
  4. Thanks Kerry, still pinching myself! Hey, I see you were in law enforcement. I was a prosecutor in Illinois, would love to drink a few and tell some stories some day
  5. My new (for me ) 1991 Reatta Convertible, white with white body moldings, flame red interior, select 60 style rims ordered as an option for $100, cassette deck. factory CD player with graphic equalizer, original window sticker, build sheet and folio. Loving taken care of by prior owners and it has now found it's forever home. I just registered it today with the DMV and the non-special order plate has my initials on it "BJK." What are the chances? I call it fate.
  6. Thanks Dave, your '91 looks fabulous as well. A real beauty. We both have Reatta and Eldos? How cool, love my green/Tan Eldo.
  7. Hello gang. I am thrilled to report I did indeed buy my Reatta. A big thanks to Stanley AKA "Retired W/Reatta" for all his help finding this car. Without Stanley and this wonderful forum, I would not have my new forever car. My Reatta is a white (40U) 1991 convertible (CO5 & 40T) with flame red interior (YL1), white body matching moldings (40Q), white select 60 style wheels (K06A/N60), ETR AM Stereo-FM radio graphic equalizer, cassette with 6 speakers, compact disk player and came with folio, original window sticker and build sheet. It has been very well taken care of and everything works properly: power antenna goes up and down, headlights pop up quickly and the air conditioning blows cold. I am having problems with my new camera but will get my old camera out and take photo's tomorrow. The ones I took today will not upload. Bummer! The car looks, drives and runs great. I feel so luck and blessed to have found this car. Thanks everyone for your leads and suggestions, I really appreciate all some of you have done in my pursuit of my third Reatta. The Buick Reatta forum definately has the best people on it! Will post photos ASAP.
  8. God willing, I will be buying my next new (for me) Reatta. I do not want to jinx it so I will reveal the year and details of the car when it's in my garage. Stay tuned, this could be big!
  9. If I do buy the car I will change my avatar
  10. Thanks for your input KD, I am going to pick up the car tomorrow. I will keep you posted as to whether the deal gets done.
  11. How sad. My condolences on the passing of your friend Barney.
  12. I found a potential contender for my next Reatta. The car has no pinstripes on it however. Does that necessarily mean it has been repainted or did some cars not have them? It seems from memory that they all had pinstripes. Thanks! Also, one other thing I was always curious about. On the 1991 model Reatta some of the rims are silver and some are white in color. Why the difference?
  13. What Website are the white verts listed at in Texas, I checked Craigslist with no success.
  14. Nice article! I agree with all the cars on the list, real sleepers and all good cars to own. It is good to see the Reatta get some respect, it's just a matter of time before people realize how special these cars are!
  15. Wow, good eye on the EBAY listing KD. I don't know how I missed. Very nice interior for sure. Me personally, I lobe the red. I had a 1968 Camaro many moons ago with the same color scheme. I wish I had that still and this car would really bring me back. My only questions is since I have been looking for a convertible for months, would I be disappointed by the coupe. I love the coupes and have enjoyed 2 of them but was really looking for that rag top this time. So much to consider!
  16. On the engine, I am just thinking about what my dad would have said. He was very cautious about such things. On the sunroof, since it does not rain here in Phoenix and I would not drive it in the rain, no problems there. That would not help at the car wash I guess LOL Sure wish it was a convertible, I would buy it on the spot!
  17. Hello guys. I have been looking for some time for a nice and reasonably priced convertible. I have still not found one but am considering purchasing this car: http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/cto/4784388588.html I am a bit concerned about the engine swap. I would hate to be chasing down gremlins in a Reatta. They did not post interior photo's but claim the interior is nice with some wear on the drivers seat. (I checked EBAY for replacement seat covers but did not find factory type replacements) I notice the engine covers are not on the car either, no big deal but not good either. Any thoughts on this car? The price seems right. I do love the red/red and sunroof as well. very nice!
  18. The most distinctive Reatta I have ever seen. It almost looks like a 1955 Oldsmobile 98
  19. What a beautiful car! I am always torn by cars that have not been driven. They look so good years later unmolested but they were never enjoyed and driven. I have been looking for a 1991 vert but a little more of a fixer upper perhaps. I hope your health issues aren't too dire, God bless and good luck.
  20. The seller keeps mentioning the photo's do not do justice to the color, it does look a bit boring. Would like to see it in person. I would really research the title issue as well, if I could not drive it I would not want to own it. Thats just me.
  21. Very interesting Reatta used for ancillary race duties for the PPG Champ Car series. Good story, nice car! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Other-Makes-Buick-Reatta-Buick-Reatta-1988-buick-reatta-ppg-champcar-indy-pace-car-only-1-made-11-/141406982651?forcerrptr=true&hash=item20ec8351fb&item=141406982651&pt=US_Cars_Trucks
  22. Wow, looked drove and paid full price. That has never happened to me, usually they negotiate, just a little anyway. After she drove it away did you feed your unicorn?
  23. One more suggestion if I may Robin. To greatly increase your chances of selling your car, you should post photo's and not request the viewer to have to email you. I can speak from personal experience that sometimes you see a car online and it just calls to you. When in the market for a particular car it's so strange but you keep looking and looking them "BOOM," you see the car of your dreams. You think about it and think about it and the next thing your looking at it in your garage. If you make people email you first you lose the power of impulsive buying. Good luck!
  24. I have to agree with the guys on this one Robin. If you try to sell a car with mechanical issues do not expect fair market value for your car. It would appraise at the absolute lowest value other than scrap. Craigslist is full of ads that list "great cars" for sale but only needs a $25 part to be perfect. Yeah, right. If the repair was that cheap why not just fix it and spare us the explaination. As far as collector's buying cars and "enjoying making them new," you may want to rephrase "enjoying" with _______. (You fill in the blank) I enjoy buying a car that everything works and runs great!
  25. Where is the car located Robin?
