  1. I know Packard used electricwiper motors in 41, I have 2 of them. You can also get them from vintage ford in sacramento to replace your vacuum motor, I did it on my 48Lincoln and it works great just not auto stop.
  2. Thanks Bob for the pictures of the hood keepers. I have all the parts, they were in with a pile of new chrome parts and didnt know what they were for. Now would you have pictures, of how the sun visors are put together..: ) I have all the parts for two it looks like but havent a clue on nj ow they go together.
  3. Thanks Bob. The Pictures are a big help. My engine is all green. is the color for the 32 Buick engines suppose to be black? At least now I know what all the holes in the firewall are for. Thank You!
  4. I am missing the choke pull and bezel (dash knob) for my 32 model 60 could also use 3 hubcaps and one tail light or at least the bottom orange glass.
  5. I have the shop manual but the pictures are not very good and dont show the rod placement or where anything goes threw the firewall. Also need some pictures of what holds the hood in place. I have a new chrome hood hinge? (The chrome piece that holds both sides of the hood together) But what holds it to the cowl and radiator??
  6. I would like to get some pictures of the engine compartment both sides showing the firewall and where all the linkages run through and hook up to for a 1932 model 66s, interested in how the linkage runs for the dist. advance and the wizard clutch control. Thanks in advance for any help. oldcarsandguns@gmail.com
  7. I got the can running today, Carb needs a rebuild as gas just pours out the front while running. Still sounds good and holds 30 psi oil pressure at idle. Now to start getting all the little things fixed and polished so I can drive and enjoy my new toy. Anyone have tune up information on the 32 66s?? My books only go back to 35 and dont show the 32s dual point distributor. Do the ford hubcaps from their wire wheel fit on the 60 series??? Just to have something until I find some Buick hubcaps.
  8. Just got the car home and going through all the extras that came with it. I am in need of 3 hubcaps so I guess it is time to start looking. Will have to join the BCA when I get it running good.
  9. I need a key for the ignition switch lock on my new 32 Buick and would like to know if anyone knows which blank fits the lock??
  10. Hello, Today I bring home my first ever Buick, A 1932 model 66s rumble seat coupe. Cant wait to get it home this afternoon to start tinkering. I am sure to be on here a lot more now as this is my first older GM product ever and happy that I waited for a good one. Can anyone tell me about these cars and any quirks they might have? This one needs a little work but the engine and drive train are all new or rebuilt, new WW tire that need cleaned up as it has sat for awhile and a few missing parts replaced but it comes with 2 large boxes of spare parts most of which have been chromed or nice originals.
  11. I had mine custom made with a vinal that matched the paint so it wouldnt retain water and would match the car.
  12. Just a little info that may help you latter. I have 4 friends that have bought Coker WW radials and after 4-5 years the side walls are already cracking and these are cars that live in a garage. For the same money go with Diamondback Classics, They use a better tire and use a bonding layer between the tire and white wall that they guarantee the white walls will not yellow for at least 5 years. A friend has a set on a 52 Caddy and they still look like new after 7 years. I will have a set on my 41 120 latter this year and my 48 Lincoln in a month.
  13. I cruise on the freeways up here in Sacramento at normal freeway speeds 75-85mph with no problems, I plan on putting radials on the 48 soon as the roads up here are so rutted and rough the car is all over the place, I rebuilt my steering box and it is still hard to control. I would say if I pushed it on a good road with OD engaged it would do around 100mph maybe a little more.
  14. Anyone have any cross referance #s for brake sping kits and wheel cylinder kits.
  15. Could you send me some pics of the doors. Are they Conv Coupe doors or Continential? oldcarsandguns@gmail.com Jack
  16. You cant go wrong with Skips water pumps, I have had them on my 48 since he first started rebuilding them for the Lincoln, Those pumps and the new large water passage head gaskets have made my car drivable in rush hour traffic in the summer time.
  17. Here are a couple of pictures. When I got to Vintage Ford there were so many people coming out to talk about the car and ask question I didnt get in the store for 1 1/2 hours. It was and will be nice and sunny for the next 3 days. This is probably the only time I love Calif.
  18. I will post a pic today once I get back from driving some more. Yesterday was just a shake down run about 40 miles town and freeway with OD kicked in 75mph on the freeway, really need radials as Calif doesnt take care of thier roads very well and it wanders all over in the truck ruts in the road. With the 2x2 intake and all the mods I made to the engine it has plenty of power, Its hard to get away from any place I stopped at because the car always had a crowd around it taking pictures. Heading to vintage ford to pick up some spare condensors and go looking for some seamless stainless tubing to redo the fuel lines.
  19. I had this nice sunny January morning here in California today so I started up the old Lincoln and went driving for 3 hours it was fun with the top down. Sure am glad im not back east in the snow. Tomorrow I am going out again since its going to be 65 degrees here all weekend.
  20. I use Packard 440 wire you can still get spools of it cheap at the swap meets, I think I paid 10 dollars for a brand new spool last year. I use the red crown 90 degree ends still with exposed metal on the H10c plugs. The red crown ends are old school hot rod stuff like what Packard used on thier V12s, it just adds a little color to the engine compartment.
  21. Isnt there a reverse lockout switch that will release the OD solenoid once you shift into reverse? My car is in long term storage so cant check it out. But my Packard is hooked up this way and if the switch goes bad it will not release the OD locking the trans from going into reverse. You can go forward just not backwards. Should be located just above the shift linkage and activated when shifted in reverse. If its there push the button with the key on and you should hear the OD release. if not check the wiring and switch.
  22. Grand Father has a warning ticket still from racing his 40 180 against 2 other Packards in Oregon, they were clocked at 110mph and the cop gave him a warning because he said the judge would never belive these old cars would go that fast. Some of you might know him, Bob Hopkins Sr.
  23. The fog light switch should be on the bottom of the dash on the far left side and should be hooked up to the headlight and dimmer switch. With the lights on when you flip the switch the headlights will go off and the fog lights will be on. I have the wiring diagram for it if your interested send me a PM with your email and I will get it out to you.
  24. I looked this up once when I was restoring my 48 and there was 314 Lincoln Conv. Coupes made in 48 and right around that same # for 46 and 47, 42 was the least produced but dont remember how many. The Connies were built 4-1 to the Lincoln Conv.
  25. Nice Tribute to you Grand Daughter. Sorry for the loss. Great art work and love the V12 in the 32.
