  1. I might go for those 1910's Detroit Electrics? Two birds with 1 stone. Actually 3 birds. Save on gas, environment friendly and still get to drive a vintage automobile. I'll have to start looking for right away! It's quite good looking automobile!
  2. How much is the gas in US at the moment? We get 1 litre (1/4 us gallon) for ~2 dollars(1.5euros).

What in the world might cause that? I have never used the tranny. Got it like that. Haven't had a chance to open it yet.

  16. Hi Jack, check out this subject about bias-plys we had couple of weeks ago: http://forums.aaca.org/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/505463#Post505463
  17. I Just saw an documentary of Ed Gein here in Finland (yep, the news comes here little bit later from the States ) There was an clip about the auction of Ed Geins car, but they never showed what it was. From wikipedia: "While Gein was in detention, his house burned to the ground. Arson was suspected. In 1958, Gein's car, which he used to haul the bodies of his victims, was sold at public auction for a then-considerable sum of $760 to an enterprising carnival sideshow operator named Bunny Gibbons. Gibbons called his attraction the "Ed Gein Ghoul Car" and charged carnival-goers 25 cents admission to see it." What was it? does anyone have a picture?
  18. running board brackets, grille parts for 1938 RD and also the hood ornament. Thanks
  19. yep, sent an email to him. Hope he can answer my questions Thanks a lot!! You got a nice Rod-Truck as well. Any ideas who sells glass fenders? For what price?
  20. Hello, I just received "NEW" (not new, but new for me!! ) running boards for my '38 Dodge 3/4 ton 136" wb crewcab truck. The rubber on them are in awful shape. Is there any one who has new molded rubbers for them so I could do the vulcanization work here in Finland? Does someone have the kinda truck described in this topic, who could email me some pictures about HOW REAR FENDERS ARE BOLTED TO THE FRAME. I have all the brackets missing, as well as mine has delivered without steel bed, so i have no idea where(how hig/low) to attach rear of the rear fenders.
  21. Dave, I think we are talking about the same noise Today, I put more pressure in the tires, 32 psi (I'm afraid to put more, because on the tire says "max load 32 psi" .) The handling seems to be much better than with 24 psi. But the noise is still there - maybe more quiet, but I'm not sure about that. Seems to go a lot easier with higher pressure (what a surprise! Well, I still have to replace the steering gear (got one low-mile box at the shop) to get the car steer correctly.. Yep, previous owners fixed the original- so it's ruined. Here's a lousy picture I took today for you guys. No leaves on the trees yet in Finland TG, don't need a car to go to sauna, got one in my apartment These modern days !! I really think you should get the '65 Imp, it's great to drive. And the interior room is BIIIGG , got 2 '64 Imperial Lebarons and one '57 as well Also the prices are quite good for decent shape '65's in The States. In here, you might have to pay 10 - 20 000 bucks for a nice one.
  22. thanks for answers guys. The main reason I ask this is because the car has 24 psi pressure and I can hear loud hhrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr -noise when driving. Yesterday I was trying to locate the source and , no - it was not any brake or bearing I could think of. Then I was wondering it might something to do with the tires. The BF Goodrich Silvertows are almost NEW and soft. My brother checked the repair manual and the 24 psi was the "optimal" pressure ( http://www.imperialclub.com/Yr/1962/62FSM/22-01.htm ) ? But it seems to be too low ? Bias Ply Tires are rare in Finland, but they are starting to appear in many vintage AMERICAN vehicles... That's why there's so little knowledge available here.
  23. Hi guys , I have an opportunity to use my brothers '62 Imperial with 15"x8.20 BF Goodrich Silvertown Bias-Ply tires. (even though 1/4 gallon gasoline costs 2 dollars in Finland) Few things that I'm wondering.. is there more noise coming from bias-ply's than from radial tires? What would be the correct air pressure I should use? it says 32 psi for Max load, but I think I don't weight that much
