Opinion ?

Hey Padgett, I have Black pinstriping on mine. Have not seen many with that color, but it is universal. Should look fine. Call me if you want to throw it back, and forth. Paul.
2. Yea, and it's a vert too. One owner (not the ebay seller though). That upper radiator hose looks real close to the turbo. And he claims the turbo "enhances" the performance. A nice way of saying it was driven hard. Why else would you put a turbo on a car that's pretty quick as is. Hope he has all the original parts!
3. Just leave two complete Reattas out there. If left alone, they might repopulate the species.
4. Stripping a Reatta is a pain in the rear. Sounds easy, until you actually start doing it. You need to be a contortionist to get the hard parts, and have the tools to remove them. Padgett will agree with me on this one. Anyway, after you strip the parts, clean them, answer a ton of email, sell them, and ship them, what will you do with the remains? Assuming you have a engine hoist, something to hold the trans while you lower it, and four doughnut wheels so it still rolls. There are enough Reatta/Riviera parts cars/vendors floating around these days. Sell them, or restore them don't crush them!
5. I kept my Reatta, and got rid of the wife.
6. If you remember the Buick Berle Show, your dating yourself! When you mention service stations, the key word to rember is "service". It's a lost art today.

Trunk Lock

Yea, I unlock mine w/remote (pushing the button only once), but it cycles two or three times afterwards. Have no idea, looking for info too.
8. I don't know where to fix the circut board, but Jim's the man! Helped me out more then once.
9. Padgett, Gee, that car looks familiar. Come to think of it, so does the driveway.
10. Don't get me started about a GNX. I never should have sold mine (#509 see attchment).
11. Hey Dave, I think I got the wrong piece for you. The one we talked about was more in the center of the dash, and more toward the windshield. Between and under the two small grills. I'll go back next week for the other one. Paul.
12. I had to sell the GNX when I got divorced. It was the usual story, but no way on Gods Green Earth she was going to get it. I would have crushed the car before that happened. I really miss having a T/R. I get my cars serviced at KDK Performance (Orlando) regularly. Everytime I go there, I drool at all the ones he has in there for service. Maybe I'll just sell this Reatta, and go back to the GN. That I can drive the crap out of! Oh yea, if you go to the turbo buick website, I still prowl around under 87WE2!
13. Mark, I think ebay is a great selling tool. It's a 24 hour worldwide garage sale. I've had great luck over the last 3 plus years. Now if I can get rid of all the door glass! Since you are the current owner of not one but two T/R's, I can relate. I had one new, seven used, and GNX #509 (see attachment) over the last 16 years. I probably will have another one (eventually) soon. Anyway, good luck with your auctions. Paul.
14. Not every used part is bad. If that were the case salvage yards, and used part suppliers would out of business. Maybe people just don't want to pay new prices for something used that works fine. On that thought, I guess when something breaks that is no longer available new, then we will all just have to do without. Most people on this board know they get what they pay for. There are no surprises here.
15. I'd sell mine right now if I got $2500, and would include some spare parts. I want a classic that needs restoration. Anyone with old iron looking for a trade, email me!
16. Hello, I have a Buick tri shield (remote) driver door mirror for a 1970 Skylark. It's good for a driver. Pitted, but not dented or bent (see pic). Great for show quality re-chroming. Comes with the door panel mount, and screws, but not the mirror base mount. This may have other applications, but I'm not sure years/models. The car went to the crusher, and I saved this, and a nice "BUICK" dash emblem (from above the glove box). If anyone wants them email me. Call it $30 Priority shipped. Thanks, Paul.
17. Well, this leads nicely to my next question. Should I repaint what I have, or sell/trade, and pay the difference for what I really want. I only somewhat like the Red I have now, but I didn't really choose it. It kind of chose me (remember my first post to this site). What moves me is the Burg/Tan. I've always been drawn to that color. Anyway, mine has clearcoat issues on the roof, trunk, and fenders. I really love this car, I just don't want to get buried in it. What does a good repaint cost these days? I'm talking about original quality finish.
18. I know of a nice undamaged windshield, and rear window for sale in Orlando, but he will not ship (for obvious reasons). He used to work for a glass shop, and explained to me why. If it's not crated, it will probably break in transit. The windshield has lost the Blue factory shading across the top, but would not be noticeable by tinting that section. I think he only wants $300 or $400 for the front, and about $200 or $300 for the back. Door glass is gone, I got it! If anyone wants to make a day trip of this, and get the hard to find original glass, let me know. I will be happy to point you in the right direction. The only thing is, it's still on the car. So don't do anything until it is sucessfully removed. Paul.
19. While perusing the local junk yard here in Orlando, I found a Black/Grey 1978 LXXV Riviera. If anyone needs anything, I can point you in the right direction. It was pretty complete. I took the horn cap, glove box LXXV emblem, and thr little "R" from the broken taillight. I also found these older Buicks: 1962 LeSabre 4dr, 1969 Wildcat 2dr, 1968 Skylark 2dr, 1969 Lesabre 4dr, 1970 LeSabre 4dr, 1970-1972 Skylark 2dr, and 4dr, This is what I remember off the top of my head. Most still had good parts still on them. Interior, glass, trim, some hubcaps, and half had motors in them. For more information let me know! Thanks, Paul.
20. I know a junk yard with several 1968-1971 Cutlass parts cars just laying around. Also a 1968 Skylark which has the same frame. Still have lots of good parts/glass. Problem is it's in Orlando, Florida. I doubt they'll ship it, but you can come to Disney, and go home with a frame! Try A-1 auto salvage 800-486-4061, ask for Mike, or Jerry. Tell them Paul from AAA told you. Good luck anyway, Paul.
21. Hi Bruce, I didn't think the panel was that good. I will go back for a better look this week. The interior of this car was Tan, what is your interior color? Paul.
22. My favorite combo is the Burg/Tan. Always loved that combo. I think that will be my next Reatta, after I do something with my "pull me over and arrest me" Red.
23. parting that out will be a real shame. Why don't you sell it as a whole? I'm sure someone on this board can fix it. Whats wrong with it?
24. Hi to everyone, Ok, Since I really stink at pricing the things I want to sell, I've decided to go the ebay route (for better or worse). I feel awkward trying to price things I don't know enough about (hence make me an offer). My GN I knew up and down, but Reatta is something I need to get a better handle on. I apologize for not doing my homework more carefully on this first. I will let the chips fall where they may with ebay. There are something's I didn't list, like the taillight, ABS controller, and a few silver boxes from under/behind the dash. I still don't know exactly which of those I might need one day. One other thing worth noting is the emblem on the dash (under the glove box). I have one that looks brand new. I have to decide what to do with that one. Anyway thanks to everyone for the kind words, and enthusiasm for me and my new driving machine! I will still try to collect as much Reatta stuff as I can, and help anyone that might need it. Thanks again, Paul. (electra483).
