  1. I am reluctantly forced to agree with the National Meet Committee. Cancelling the twin meets is the safest thing to do. I am considered a vulnerable person and I haven’t gotten a vaccine shot yet. I’ll probably have my shot(s) in April. I can feel the world is pulling out of the pandemic, slowly. You can’t fool around with this. I expect 2021 will begin to go back to normal in the fall. Ok, my reasonable side has left the room. NUTS! I hate Covid and the lockdown and masks! I want to take my Buick out and go to shows and have some fun! I lost my job because of the Covid-19 work cutback. We’re not hurting for money but I have had it! Blee$&@*#ep! This is what a pandemic is. We can’t just snap our fingers and wish it away, damn it!
  2. Very cool. I suppose you expect me to update your listing for Gopher State. Mystery Buick, or multiple Mysteries? ?
  3. That car looks fantastic! I'll buy one just like it when I win the lottery.
  4. Congrats to the new BOD members. I'm curious, is the percentage of members who voted higher this year? I sure hope so!
  5. I have 3 extra radios that fit a 1972 Centurion. 2 are AM/FM stereos and 1 is AM/AM 8 track. I got them with my car. They appear to be in working condition. I don't have the wiring, just the radios. I'm not home right now, I don't have access to the pictures. Each radio is available at $100 plus shipping. Please let me know if you're interested.
  6. Well, I tried. No candidate is perfect. You're a great candidate and I'm voting for you!
  7. What a great car, you'll love it! Depending on the timing of your trip, our Gopher State chapter in Minnesota would love it if you could visit us at an August event, like our drive in night.
  8. I'll be happy to vote for you if you put whitewalls on the road wheels on the Electra. .
  9. Richard, I have an AM/FM 8 track Delco stereo that should work for you. I received this stereo when I bought my Centurion in 2010. I know the dial face measures 2 1/2 inches high. I have no idea of condition, I'm selling as-is for $100 plus shipping. It has the inner silver knob rings but not the black knobs. Please let me know if you're interested. I also have 2 AM/FM stereo radios with no 8 track that should work for you. $ 100 each plus shipping, your choice. Thanks, Dave
  10. I love the "Queen" and really enjoyed seeing her at the Heartland regional. I think we met, John, but I have a better memory for cars than faces. Maybe you should mount the whitewalls on your rally's, like Mr. C!
  11. Keep at it, Paul! Do everything the doctors tell you, and do more of what Donna tells you than usual.
  12. That's great to hear, Fred. Is Paul still in the ICU?
  13. Thanks for the update. Sounds like my plan to visit Paul tomorrow with a 12 pack of MGD is a little premature.
  14. You're one of the greats, Roberta! Get well soon!
  15. My family's thoughts and prayers are with Paul and the whole Syrdal family. Get well soon, Paul! I'll try to visit you in the hospital this weekend. Do hospitals still frown on bringing in 12 packs?
  16. I had the same car in the same color with the road wheels. A very good car, it was our daily driver for over 8 years. Does this one have the gray leather interior? Good luck with the new ride, Brett!
  17. I took my driver's test in our family's legendary 1965 Buick Sportwagon. We called it the Green Beast by that point. It was dark green with the custom trim, a 3 seater with the light green interior. Dad had seat belts put in the second seat. I don't remember about the back-back seat. He also had an aftermarket emergency blinkers installed. That was a great car. We spent a lot of family and vacation time in the Green Beast. We drove that poor thing into the ground. I think every single panel but the roof had dents or dings in it over its' 13+ years with us. Even though Grandpa drove big Buicks for decades, the Green Beast started my love affair with Buicks.
  18. I think we should welcome Opel owners to the Buick fold, if they are willing to join. I saw a Corvette club act fairly cold to an Opel GT owner at a show last year. Opels were sold at Buick dealers for many years. I took my drivers ed behind-the-wheel training in a '75 Opel. If we allowed Opels, we would have to figure out what to do with the Opels by Isuzu, which is another issue. I wouldn't kick an Opel Manta out of my garage. It's pretty low on my wish list, but I like 'em.
  19. I'm looking forward to this show! It was lots of fun last year!
  20. The weather may work out this year.......and it's about time!
  21. It seems to me that your best solution is to do whatever you want. Your secondary solution is to buy another Buick!
  22. Good ol' Swanberg and Scheefe. I remember playing in the warehouse as a kid while Dad had the Sportwagon serviced. Heck, I remember playing with the ashtrays when we brought the Sportwagon home in 1965. Both Dad and Grandpa bought cars there.
