1. Tommy...thanks again!!! Regards, Peter J.
2. Hi, Greg... This may help you. Click on "Antique Automobile Club of America" on the left column; Scroll down on the main page and click on "Rummage Box"; Click on "Spring 2003". There is an article on National Awards and how it works by Dave Zimmerman. Another aid is the most recent copy of Antique Automobile (May-June 2003). On page 29, therein starts an article about the 67th Annual Meeting in Philadelphia. It makes note of the National Award results on page 35. Regards, Peter J.
3. Jack...just a note of advise that may help you sell more cars than your original post of "inheriting a '62 Falcon", then, apparently, inheriting "more" cars. (I do not know about anyone else on this forum, but, it sounds like you should do a house cleaning, see how many cars are actually in that warehouse, then...) Put them in the correct Forum Topic: "BUY / SELL". It will help you with "whatever/how many cars/or, how many more cars" you will find in the warehouse. 4. Pirate13...Welcome to the forum! There are some very knowledgeable folks on here. This being a holiday may take a day, or so, but, I feel confident you will receive info shortly. Regards, Peter J.
5. Many of you folks know me personally. Many of you know me on the forum only. Trust my observation. In lieu of your opportunity due to distance/residence to have had casual conversation with our new Executive Director. I have met Steve within recent months on a show field. Simply car-related, idle chatter. Rest assured, we have the right person to fill the shoes of one hell of a hard working/dedicated predecessor. The directors, in my opinion, had a very tough job and made the right decision that will benefit all of the membership for the future. Welcome, Steve. Thank you, Bill. Regards, Peter J.
6. Not really. Just some tasteless post. Probably generated out of boredom in the disguise of humor with nothing at all to benefit the theme of this forum. Just a wild guess. Hope this helps. Regards, Peter J. Heizmann
7. Hi, Bob. Hope all is well. Good point. Who would have the audacity to park a bunch of boats in my space...
8. WOW!! If you cut & paste an e-mail, sit back and edit your post on the forum. Suggestion. Read posts that are the norm here. Compare it to what you posted, then, ask yourself, who in the daylights wants to read the same info 3, or, so times?? Only attempting to get good responses to your query. Personally, it is too jumbled-up for me to even re-read it. Should knowledgeable folks on this forum opt to read all of your post, that's their business... Regards, Peter J.
9. h-m-m...just wondering where the driver of that van is working now. The way things are today, he's probably the chairman of a Government Sub-Committee looking into the proper application of a hand brake and the mentality of the operator thereof, henceforth, and, so forth.
10. Hi, Tommy...glad to see you are digging up great photos again. As Frank stated, keep 'em coming, friend. Regards, Peter J.
11. Greg, it will be mailed to you from National Headquarters. May be about 3 weeks. Congratulations!! Regards, Peter J.
12. Hi, cj...hope all is well. I met a Mr. H. DeWayne Ashmead from Fruit Heights, Utah this past weekend. We were at the Concours d'Elegance, Burn Prevention Foundation show in Bethlehem, PA. Very nice gent who has a nice collection. He showed a 1920 Dodge Brothers Speedster race car. DeWayne was a very knowledgeable person concerning old cars. Possibly you could look him up through operator assistance. (I do not know of his phone number.) Regards, Peter J.
13. Pat...likewise. Looking forward to meeting you folks. Local weather indicates possibility of rain showers Thursday. Friday & Saturday partial clouds/sunshine but windy. Regards, Peter J.
14. That is great news, Mark. Glad the info worked out for you. Good for my business, too. Danaher is going to relocate the product line into other plants, in turn, we will continue to pour castings for them. Regards, Peter J.
15. Hi, Bob. Hope all is well. The Gettysburg Region's website indicates they had 1278 show cars when they last hosted the Spring Meet in 1993. As for this meet, I would safely assume attendance will be fairly high. See you, Patti, and Pat (ex98thdrill) Saturday. Regards, Peter J.
16. Sal...just a suggestion. You have the capability of "banning him", or, "moving him to the delete file", or, ""deleting him. I fail to see how "asking" him will put this to bed. Regards, Peter J.
17. Mark, you better hurry up if you are going to contact Gas Boy. Talk about a coincidence. Just today it was on the Philadelphia News that Gas Boy will be letting 50+ employees go with sales a technical people remaining for a short period. I could not believe this happened after telling you they were very much alive. Dahener Corp. bought them and will relocate the product line into other divisions according to the news. Regards, Peter J.
18. The Vietnamese never wasted anything. When I was there, they wore and sold sandals, of which, the soles were made from tire treads. That's why it was a cardinal sin to leave brass shell casings or anything metal as trash. Guaranteed, they will transform junk into something useful to their benefit. Regards, Peter J.
19. Mark... If it helps: Gas Boy is very much alive today. I am in the foundry & machining business. We make grey iron castings for them. Gas Boy International P.O. Box 309 707 N. Valley Forge Road Landsdale, PA 19446-0309 Phone: 215-361-5228 FAX: 215-361-5547 Regards, Peter J.
20. Steve: I have been on this forum for a number of years and cannot recall "any" folks requesting information/experiences on hauling an "antique, classic, or, whatever car" OTHER than commercial companies. None that I recall requested a POV (Privately Owned Vehicle) to haul a car. There have been "many" posts, over the years, advertising an empty trailer going from (i.e...) Frog Back, Minnesota-to-Double Clutch, Pennsylvania and nobody responded that I can remember. Many have posted experiences, good and bad, about commercial haulers. Personally, I cannot fathom anyone in their right mind responding to an empty trailer going to, say, Hershey in October and saying "pick up my '32 mint Rolls Royce tomorrow and I will meet you there". Putting myself into your scenario, the first thing I would ask myself, "do I know and trust this guy?". "Is he insured/bonded?". Just my opinion... Regards, Peter J.
21. Ron..."Never heard of a Stromberg carb?? Wow!! Are you fortunate. Count your blessings. (Don't even mention Lucas Electronics.) With all this rain, you guys won't move that trailer until December. (December of what year, I cannot guess.) Peter J.
22. Hey, Ron... The flame coming off that guys grill reminds me of an over-choked Stromberg carb when it kicks in. (Of course, I am not going to admit that I, personally, witnessed a flame that high. er, uh ...how about, "I heard about a flame that high coming off a Stromberg??"). Let me know if you believe this nonsense. Regards, Peter J.
23. The brochure indicates registration from 7:00 - 11:00 a.m., with judging starting at 11:00 sharp.
24. Bruce...and Di... Good job, friend. Had confidence in you all the way. Must be satisfying that your hours of work generated a "great" experience", of which, people appreciated. I know you and Di are really dedicated to finishing a project once started and it came through again. Way to go, Peter J.
25. Welcome to the forum... Just some advise. Re-post your query to the Buy/Sell Section under the main Forum for better exposure. Scroll down on the Main Page and you will see it. (Maybe, one of the Moderators will move it for you in the interim, however, they do not come on line on a daily basis to monitor.) Regards, Peter J.
