1914 American Motors Underslung. Need information
Bill Boudway replied to a topic in General Discussion
Hi Brad, This sounds like the car that was for sale in Buffalo a couple of years ago. Does it take a six cylinder Hartley-Teetor engine, or is a four the correct engine? Does it have later dash instruments and right hand drive? Bill Boudway gnbboudway@msn.com -
I understand from a friend that Glenn is vacationing in Florida now. He's also delivering another Packard Twin Six steering wheel that he recently finished.

Glenn did an excellent job on the steering wheel for our 1919 Packard. A very challanging project with finger jointed segments and partial wood covering on three of the spokes. If I'm lucky, there will be a photo of it on this post. His address: 619 South Spruce Street, Nazereth, PA 18064. Tel. # (610) 759-4276 (shop) (610) 759-4642 (house) e-mail: snyderswood@fast.net Hershey space # CB-65-68. Good luck. What were they thinking? --Car Names
Bill Boudway replied to Dave@Moon's topic in General Discussion
I was informed by our exchange student from Brazil that PINTO in his language was the word for a male sex organ. I wonder how many of these were sold there. -
Bad news is that the deadline for judging registration at Hershey was September 15th. However, if you are a qualified judge, you might want to contact the Chief Judge for the Hershey meet: Marie Lesher, (717) 274-0602. There might be a shortage of judges registered for the meet. Good Luck!

If you can't find NORS gaskets, here's a suggestion for "revitalizing" old copper/asbestos gaskets.
First, soak them in water. Probably for more than a day.
Next, freeze them. This is supposed to expand the asbestos.
Finally, dry them out.
This was offered in a tech seminar at the AACA Annual meeting a few years ago. I haven't tried it, but it makes sense.
It has to be better than just re-using the old gaskets.
Also, a method was suggested for cleaning old gaskets: Use a solution of vinegar and salt with steel wool.
Good Luck!!
