1. I have 2 wire wheels which I think fit a TR4, Healey or Astin Martin. The number on the inside of the rim is XZ457F. Also there is A S M 15 E 5 J X 15 1 made in england.
Is anyone reading the posting on the manuels interested in these wheels?
2. Thanks for the reply. I will pass on the resistors at $25.00. I was looking for one for the shelf. I have repaired the one on the car with resistor wire from the dimmer reostat of a modern headlight switch. It seems to work o.k. and I have not noticed any pitting in the points so far.
3. Do you have any Delco Remey # 2159,2158, 2176, or 2188 coils and do you have any of the resistors? If so, how much?
4. I have one terminal like you picture. The measurments are: 3/32 threads, I>D> .316, O.D. .365, Flats 3/8 inch, Hight 3/4 inch. I want $1.50 for it and I think I can ship it in a regular envelope between two piecs of cardboard for 57cents postage unless you want it insured.
5. Carbuff2, I think you read through Buick Nuts reply to fast. What I got out of it was that $55.00 for a single carb. was a good price but $55.00 each for a large lot was more than he was willing to pay. I have to agree that if your are a dealer and are going to buy a large lot for resale, you have to buy them less than the going price for only one piece.
6. How many threads per inch on the axel and what year car (Buick) are you working on?
I may have a wheel knocker that would work.
7. Here is someone closer to you. Ralph Sorenson in Lakewood, Ca.. That is by Long Beach. (562)866-3108 He does nice work. He can build you a new radiator from scratch or fix yours. I have never had a bad job from him.
8. It is not bad but it is not good. Check it out carefully. For that price, I would like to see it run. Tires cost around $70. each.
The last radiator shell that I did several years ago ran around $350.00. Running board rubber is available from Bobsautomobilia.com.
How about if I scan a Buick Club Application to your e-mail. There are usually some cars of this vintage for sale each month in the Buble.
9. The transmission shop here in Long Beach, Ca. which rebuilds dynaflows told me to use Dexron III in my 1950. It works fine and I drive the freeways with it every day.
10. I would rebuild the fuel pump with modern diaphrams. Kits are available from most of the dealers in Buick parts. Then check the fuel filters, maybe they did their job and need changing. Maybe they do not have a lot of sediment in them which would indicate that the gas tank is o.k.
11. You can get brighter lights with some aluminum foil behind the bulb. Wrinkle it before you put it in.
Another idea would be one of the early 1950's back up lights with a red lens. They mounted on the bumper arm or the flat metal between the bumper and the trunk. Some of them even had STOP moulded in the glass but those seem to be pretty expensive.
12. I have a 50 Buick shop manual. What specifically do you need information on. I can send you a few pages but the whole manual would be a chore.
13. I have some con rods for your car. e-mail me at fredrawling@mediaone.net if you still need the parts
14. I am interested. fredrawling@mediaone.net
15. I have some straight 8 heads. If you find an engine with a bad head, contact me.
16. Will drumbs from a 73 Impalla or Caprice work? I have one or two with very little wear and no rust.
17. I have one for you. It needs some help.
The chrome strips on the top of the trunk and down the front are missing and one of the arms to hold the lid up is missing. The rubber weather strip between the lid and the body of the trunk is also missing. This trunk had a Buick decal on the inside of the lid when I got it. It has been repainted Green and the body work, which was minor, was done before the painting. The wood floor is in good condition. The price is $150.00 fob Los Angeles area of Calif.
Let me know if you are interested and we can figure out how to get it to you.
18. If you have not yet found the horn, let me know what model you need. I have a box of klaxon horns and maybe one will fit your car.
19. I too have a box of hub caps. If you have not already found one, can you send me a picture of what you are lookin for.
20. You can interchange the pumpkin on all the rear ends from 37 to 54 with no problems. I am not sure about 54 and 55. I was told that it will fit but you need the 54-55 cover. The biggest problem that I had was seperating the drive shaft from the pinion gear. The shop manuel said that the drive shaft would have to straightened to run true after the operation and they were correct. I could not do it and found a drive line shop that alligned it for me.

25. Instead of trying to crawl into the trunk, I used several socket extensions, one of which is about 24 inches long and I unscrewed the trunk latch from the trunk lid and it poped open.

A piece of rod with the ends filed square to hold a socket and give wrench flats would probably work.
