  1. For sale - A matched set of 4 tires. They are 895 x 135 clinchers removed from a Rolls-Royce. All appear to have equal wear, but with lots of miles left on them. I'd like to get $200 for the set. That's what I paid for them. I hoped they would work for my car, but they do not. I'd be glad to bring to Chickasha for free as long as they are paid for ahead of time.
  2. Great photo. There are actually at least three photos of the same car in the same scene. I believe it's a Mercer. Chris
  3. Looks like REO, 1910-15. Hopefully someone more knowledgable will confirm it and possibly narrow down the year.
  4. It looks like the "N" from a National, built in Indianapolis. It's just turned 90 degrees +/-. I hope this helps, Chris
  5. Hi all, We had my father's Brush out today. Here are a few photos. Enjoy! Chris
  6. Hi all, A friend is posting photos of some of his and his father's early acquisitions. So far they range from a 1900 Locomobile and a 1903 LeRoi or LeRoi to a 1937 Rolls-Rpyce Phantom III. More to come. They are posted on the Horseless Carriage Club of Southern Ontario's site. Here's the link: HCCA Southern Ontario Region At the bottom of the page, click on 'older posts' to see more. Enjoy! Chris
  7. Neat photo. You're right, it's not a Ford Model T. It's a Flanders, probably 1912.
  8. Here's my 1910 Ford. Picture taken yesterday.
  9. Where did Austie Clark's 1911 Delivery car end up?
  10. Hi all, Here are a couple photos of my father's 1912 Liberty. He's had it just over a year. The previous owner's father and uncle bought it around 1948. It had not run since around 1960. We got it running pretty quickly and have been driven it a little bit since then. It starts easily, runs well and sure is easy to drive. Our 8-year old especially enjoys driving it-even if she does need a pillow behind her back. Enjoy! Chris Paulsen McPherson, KS
  11. We do have a group of students here at McPherson that does it. It is an always changing group, but they've managed to get their time down to 8 or 9 minutes since this video was taken. #!I'm not sure if the link will work. You may have to copy and paste it. It is an 11 minute video on youtube. Thanks for looking, Chris
  12. Great photos. The first is an Oldsmobile. Probably a 1909 or 1910 Limited. In the other photo, I am not sure what the delivery is, but the car in front of it is a Model T Ford; difficult to tell the year, but it looks like mid-teens.
  13. To bring it back to the top, I'll mention it is for our 1911 Paige-Detroit, but of course furnished by an outside supplier as an accessory. Does anyone have or know of another car that used Sprague-Waldo lights?<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

  15. Hi all, I am looking for an all-brass taillight, circa 1910. The top is stamped "Sprague-Waldo Mfg Co, Detroit Mich, 109". Top may also be stamped "Miller". It has clear, red and blue glass lenses. Any condition considered. See photos. Thanks for looking. <!-- google_ad_section_end -->
  16. Hi all, I am looking for an all-brass kerosene taillight, circa 1910. The top is stamped "Sprague-Waldo Mfg Co, Detroit Mich, 109". Top may also be stamped "Miller". It has clear, red and blue glass lenses. Any condition considered. See photos. Thanks for looking.
  17. Layden is exactly right. My father and I had a 1911 that had its original Breeze carburetor, so not an early feature. I believe the one pictured is a 1910 or early 1911, but knowing the serial number would tell for sure. Chris
  18. Restorer32, I agree. My 1910 Ford has the original upholstery on the seats and door panels. If it hadn't won it's Senior in 1982, I believe it could be considered for HPOF based solely on those features. I've seen lots of early cars receive HPOF certification because of original seats. No problem there. The car I was asking about was completely repainted (body, fenders, hood, axles, chassis, engine, wheels), re-upholstered (seats, carpets, door panels) and had a new top put on it.
  19. I appreciate the comments very much. I think the judges do a great and thank-less job. I understand the human element and know mistakes happen. This is a car from the early 'teens with shiney paint and upholstery that has been painted. It is a great car that we toured and enjoyed for many years, and it was great to see it out, but I am surprised to see so many people confuse it with an original car. Is there a way I could contact the current owner to let him know what history we know of the car? I will contact the VP of class judging. Thanks again, Chris
  20. Thanks, Matt. That's sort of what I was thinking. I very much appreciate the judges, but this has me baffled. My father and I are currently preparing our 1911 Paige-Detroit for HPOF. It is absolutely original (paint, upholstery, etc) and we are doing everything we can to preserve every thing we possibly can, but something like this has me wondering why we are taking such great lengths.
  21. I have a question regarding HPOF certification and I will try to approach it delicately. There was a car at Hershey that I see just received it's HPOF certification. This very car was in our family from 1986 until 2009. It was restored in the early 1970's and I can say with certainty there was nothing left unrestored on the car. It was painted top to bottom, new upholstery, new top, all done about 40 years ago. It is authentic, but absolutely not original. Is there any way to find out what part of the car was judged to be original? It was my understanding the HPOF catagory was to authenticate cars or features of cars that are original and can serve as a guide to restorers in the future. I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you, Chris Paulsen McPherson, KS
  22. Thanks for the interest. It is sold. Chris
  23. I agree with hursst's comments. I will add that a hot rod or restomod, when done 'properly' and safely could be the same or quite possibly more money than restoring what you have.
  24. Here are a couple photos of the car I need the tires for. It is a 1911 Paige-Detroit. It currently has Model T Ford wheels on it, but I have the original 25" wheels with it. If anyone has tires, and they don't want to deal with shipping, I can pick them up at Hershey. Thanks for looking, Chris
  25. Hi all, I am looking for 25" clincher tires. They could be metric size 880x120, or 32x3 1/2, 33x4, or 34x4 1/2. I will take anything at all. Prefer good used, but will take completely worn out, good for rollers only, etc. I need 4, but would take 1, 2, or 3. Non-matching ok. Help me get the original wheels back on an all original car. Thanks, Chris
