Wow! Great job detailing this stuff! THANX!

Why yes! Would you like used core, rebuilt, working when removed, or etc, etc. Would you like to upgrade to 1956 much improved over 1955? Hmmm... Good to no details to offer best help! Addition info available on 1956 conversion, as it's not a 'bolt in' operation, but proven not that difficult twice in personal experience. Upgrade to 1956 322" short block WOW! Also available. However speed upgrades are not cheap! How fast do U want to go. I find freeways in MPLS, specially at rush hour 70-80mph. Stock ratio for 55 dyna = 3.6/1, upgrade to 3.4/1 with Super/Cent/Rdee If Dynaflow equip. Any ?s....

Researching the Hollander Interchange manual aka 'the bible of interchange'! I found them stating the 1950-'51&'52 frames are completely interchangeable as long as same model exactly. Put Pwr steering from 52 Super on my friends 1950 Super convert. Bolt for bolt everything fit like made for the 1950! Hooray for the Hollander Interchange manual(available at most local libraries) good luck!

THANX for responding. I've been to more than one National, so, knew about how things operate 'in general', but was hoping to see some current detail. Guess I'll just assume. -
Just a SWAG(scientific wild-ass guess), but I think it much more likely someone wanted a better rear ratio for the highway and hence ended up choosing a later model, (thru 1955 center section interchanges), unfortunately Buick used many different torque tube/driveshaft lengths for different years and models. Measure that length from the flange at front to the flange at rear mounting point to rear end housing and post. Depending on which model you have even in same year manufacture, lengths differ.

Is the schedule for the swap meet a secret? Be nice if after searching for info there was a listing of start time and daily schedule? Anybody? -

A little update on interior door panels. Since SMS advised me that I had to provide 'cores' for the curved metal inside t built-in arm rests, I bought a pair of door panels a couple friends found at the junkyard. These are from a 1955 Olds 98 2dr ht. They have Pwr window switches still attached making it easy to copy& transfer the configuration of the cut-outs onto the new panels
-
THANX for that tip! I bought this stuff for spares Incase something malfunctions, if of course life slows enuff so I can test the rear quarter window operation of the ones in my car now!
-
Someone took rear quarter glass out of a 55 Olds ,98 2dr ht and left all the track & power window regulators with motors laying inside the quarter panel! Scooped it out, bought it, well less expensive than anticipated! Yay! Whoops! Missing one short track piece. Hope it won't get squashed on the ground before I can retrieve it! Looks like I'll be finding out how 2 disassemble, clean & lube a couple motors. Weather guessor says only one more night below freezing, rye.....t! Hard for a Mother-in-law to work those thumb screws with cold hands!

1936 Chrysler Airstream C-8 Convertible Restoration

Crow River cast welding in Hudson WI. Previous owner let engine tip over on this flange ear with stud closest broke off dangling by collar, triangle shape piece was missing. Highly recommended! Spoke with others, same responses. -
Carb guy I talked with called that white powder residue 'flowering', once the original smooth as manufactured surface is corroded away, it continues deteriorating, producing the powder your seeing. Was told my rare Delorto side draft carbs needed expensive coating to save. Expensive is not on a line in my resume! Can't even spell the word rite!

Yes, the brackets that hold clutch linkage bolt on there.

Take a look outside, I decided to visit and bring some more, long as your experienced! Just joshn'!
