  1. Just so you know if you find later rocker arm assemblies, they bolt on to 264&322 and have a slightly higher lift ratio than earlier ones. The tips of the rockers will likely be an indication of wear & or care(oil change frequency) the tip resting on the valve stem should present a smooth curve if unworn, if undercut the cut will have the shape of the top of the valve stem. Deeper the cut more is the wear. Sometimes an easy way to assess condition.

  4. I have two '41s, a 1947-8 all 320". Find one with insert rod bearings instead of babbitt bearings! In Central MN.

  9. I have sent a PM as I have all the parts your looking for. Yes flywheel is balanced for 364" only and is 'stepped' and pressure plate is made specifically to bolt to the raised part on the outer edge of flywheel with replacements not currently produced, so rebuilding or finding parts is pretty much it. Contact if interested in buying complete clutch pack & flywheel or other.

  11. Or, you can find a 59-61 aluminum spin on filter adapter that is a simple bolt-on replacement and stick that messy cartridge filter in a plastic bag after cleanup, so you still have that original part in case someone wants it in the future for???

  13. I replaced radiators on my 39 & 41 Buick hood removal yes. Carefully remove water pump with fan attached(you'll find out why), use cardboard on the face of radiator even with pump & fan removed, safe than sorry! Get ready to bend that ol' body! Cover fenders well. Try to Shanghi a helper, it's heavy enuff picking off the floor, let alone maneuvering around finished stuf on Ur car! Good luck! I went a shop that had giant size commercial radiators 8' square, figured they could do my 41 they took it apart fixed leaks and in a week I happily paid 300.00. Too bad shipping is God awful or you could ship it compared to others I've heard about. I asked the old guy why everybody wanted to recore not repair, his very logical answer, " They don't know how to repair!"

  15. This is a very nice Left/drive side grille trim extention for a driver level car, it's nice & shiny, but has about Six-seven pits on one end. Some storage 'smudges' and one light scratch that I hope you can see in one of the photos. If you look at the backside, it's hard to believe it was ever installed, hence, I believe any damage(pitting,scuffing) was from previous owners poor storage. Part # is in photo, so I would go by that to make sure it fits your car. $75.00 + buyer pays shipping.
  16. Go by part # shown in photos. I think Super/Roadmaster is correct. I did not write the application info in blue! However, it's close. Rarely do those three models interchange. Guessing Special is on its own. Just a very nice part to replace crappy one. Rechrome this clean base for show. $145.00 plus buyer pays shpg. Sorry, photo skills called into ? Here. There is a scratch under where my camera is reflected perfectly. Hope it's easy to find! One dot of a pit, probably doesn't show up, cuz it's so small. Close to MPLS, MN 55316
  17. 1941 BUICK. Not a complete set, but, Whats here is very nice! No cracked knobs or escutions, all knobs have the metal ornaments still there under uncracked clear(at one time) lenses that are still solidly attached. Handles have very nice chrome and will shine almost like new with just fine steel wool. $260.00 for all buyer pays shpg. These are all I have. Didn't find door handles. Close to Mpls, MN 55316
  18. 1941 Buick, Only one side, unfortunately, I believe, PASS side. Front & Bottom of rear fender, continues fender skirt, (wheel shield), trim to rocker trim. Correct for Spec/Cent & Limited. Experts correct if I'm wrong! & $160.00 +shpg close to MPLS,MN 55316

  20. 264" stick flywheel. Not reproduced. No issues. Ring gear photo shows condition. Can be rebalanced for use on 322". Any questions ? In MN 55316 Bellhousing, trans, large 6 bolt top cover, 54-55-56. 37-38 floor shifters. More! Trim in photo is '54-'56 Spec Cent 2dr ht. Set or one piece.
  21. Yes that's where I bought some. The slides do not come apart without bending things. I was able to replace without taking the slides apart. A bit of a rubics cube, spelling?? Pay close attention to the shape of the ends of the spring. One end of the little moustache is a bit smaller than the other. They seem to be a bit less substantial than the originals, but they probably don't need to last another 80 yrs. I know I won't! The metal that is bent 90 degrees to act as a 'stop' to keep them from coming apart is thick & I worried it might fatigue and break either on disassembly or reassembly, plus it would take a lot of force to straighten. The springs wear thin and the ends break off. You can yank the old ones out, but pay attention to which way the originals are 'oriented' as you remove them so you get them back in correctly. I bent a small piece of metal to allow just enuff space to work those springs out & back in. I hafta look at the ones I reworked to remind me where that metal to bend is. I'm old, BUT I AM SLOW! LUCK is if the slides themselves are straight when extended. They can wear from years of use and the two parts can bind from slop between the two parts. Once I knew the trick of how to swap out springs it was quick & easy. My friend had been using a broom stick at car shows to hold trunk up on his restored convert. He was really happy not to have to do that again! I'll take a look at some spares I did & hopefully I can give you direction on doing them. Later!
