  13. FYI --- Same Chris represents the elderly owners of all these cars... https://staugustine.craigslist.org/cto/d/franklin-senior-antique-cars-trucks-for/7555721731.html The older Forum post of the previous Craigslist post by Chris is provided below for reference only...
  14. FYI --- Chris is representing the family. The actual owner was active in the Club, not Chris. Chris created the ads for this Auburn and the Cord for the family based only on what he knows about the cars (or has been told) - but does not own these types of cars himself. [I've exchanged e-mails with him already - he doesn't have in-depth knowledge of these cars - but he does know people in the club he can call to ask questions.]
  15. Not Mine https://indianapolis.craigslist.org/cto/d/franklin-1936-cord-810-west-chester/7557103485.html 1936 Cord West Chester Model 810 Sedan for sale as part of a downsizing effort for the owner(s) who have owned the car for approximately 20 years. This car runs and drives EXTERIOR: Born Palm Beach Tan with Maroon cloth interior that appears to be original and in good shape considering its vintage. At some point prior to the current owner, a prior owner repainted the car with lacquer over the cracked lacquer. As a result, this car will require a full paint strip & refinish to restore it's beautiful luster. I have enclosed several closeup images that help tell the story. The good news is once you strip & refinish the exterior, the value of this goes WAY up. The passenger side fender has minor damage on the lower outer edge that is repairable. Bumpers are in good shape and undamaged. The Front Bumper has some of its chrome starting to peel on the right end. These are not pitted and in remarkable condition for its age. All glass is intact and works as it should. The tilt-out front windshield(s) work correctly and seal correctly. The lower INSIDE trim is not in place, but is undamaged and is included. It appears to only be missing a few screws at that location. At some point aftermarket turn signals were added below the front bumper. They are not original and can be easily removed if desired. Decklid latch is built into the right decklid "handle". It is a keyed lock cylinder, but I'm not sure if 1 of the keys fits this or not? I believe this car is solid and very worthy of a proper strip & refinishing to be investment grade quality. INTERIOR: The interior is burgundy cloth in good shape. A few small "patches" have been placed over the front seat small tear areas to preserve the original cloth. Full dash shows the aircraft-style instrumentation these art-deco era cars were famous for. There is an under dash original heater that appears to work when turned on. Front and rear carpets are in good shape and clean up nicely. There are no unusual odors in this car. Non-smoker as nearly as I can tell. Headliner is amazing with no signs of damage observed. All 4 door trim panels are in great shape and clean up nicely. MECHANICAL: Lycoming 125HP V8 Engine; Model # FB-V8. This was vehicle #84 off the assembly line in 1936 by the Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg Factory in Auburn, Indiana. This is a numbers-matching car. This car participated in an area car show as recently as 2019 Car is running and driving Engine bay is clean with no signs of any profuse leaking etc. Oil on dipstick is gold-colored and "full" The 6-volt battery did maintain a charge, so for now I think the battery is ok. 4 tires and spare have good rubber, but are aged with yellowing of their whitewalls. There is an accessory adjustable inline electric fuel pump observed at left rear on underside. As you contemplate the purchase of a rare car, consider the Auburns & Cords shared similar quality to the Duesenberg's of the same vintage. These rarely present for sale outside the usual big-block auctions, so if you want a world-class car this would be it. You will almost never certainly see another at a car show. There is a HUGE "ACD" (Auburn Cord, Duesenberg) following so parts and resources are plentiful. This would make a great addition to any collection of rare cars from the 30's. Additional photos available upon request. No trades as this is part of a downsizing effort. Fairly priced for its merits which are all good except for its few maintenance needs. The vehicle starts easily but will not shift. I'm told this is usually due to soiled contacts that will need to be cleaned. It was just driven in a 2019 Car Show so I suspect a simple fix of some kind. I'll update the ad with more details when operable contact name: Chris call or text: (615) 499-03 eight zero - more pics in ad
