  1. If a whitewall wasn't available also be grounds for a deduction, I doubt any judge that has any kind of knowledge is going to let Vogues slide. There would be a little more leeway with AACA as the judges can't be 100% familiar with every oddity and option on all the makes, they have well rounded knowledge. There again, I doubt they will let Vogues slide but if a car didn't come with whitewalls they might not know that unless it's an obvious addition to a car that they are pretty sure didn't. In any case, they may ask you for factory literature of documentation seeing so you can prove whatever item to be correct. Dealer add ons are not allowable unless they are authorized by the factory.
  2. Wonder why his car had a tan shift knob that he needed to change to a black one that it should have had to begin with. Odd
  3. The the best I could get it, was maybe thinking Cinnci - it looks like there is a tank behind the Buick though
  4. I have seen some spoilers on Reatta's that work very well and of course lots that didn't usually ones that were to big and didn't look like it may have come from the factory. There are a few Buick chrome wheels I like on the Reatta's the chrome Riviera/Park Avenue ones that look very much like the 91 wheel being my favorite, aftermarket wheels just don't cut it. You generally don't see people with the Riviera's and TC's of our Reatta's vintage messing with their cars trying to turn them into something else. While I certainly don't find the 90/91 steering wheel attractive, I do find the thought of it saving my life in a crash very attractive. I guess I have always been happy and proud of my Reatta's as they came from the factory and like people to see them for what they were.
  5. They kind of go against the "grain" of what a Reatta was, it was to be a bit of a departure from the fake wood clad old person Buick and a nod to a more modern edgy interior, thankfully they didn't go as edgy as Allante interior. I figure if people wanted the same interior with wood draped all over they bought the Riviera. I liked the original Reatta steering wheels but they would have been better with the spokes done in a brushed black to match the black accents throughout the interior. The wood being transferred over from Rivs into the Reatta give it the gaudy look of the Reatta's competitor the Chrysler TC
  6. Your car looks really nice, it's probably not stock enough to interest the original guys so you limit your pool a bit, you are also selling a Special which has less interest than a Skylark and the blurring of what it really is and what you have made it into will also turn off some, your biggest issue with getting that kind of money is it is a Skylark/Special and not a GS. So in reality you are asking 30K for a Buick Special convertible, as nice as it is, I don't see that happening. You can buy really clean super nice Skylark convertibles easily in the low to mid teens every day of the week, here is a very nice example that is half the asking price of yours to give you some food for thought https://classiccars.com/listings/view/1128525/1965-buick-skylark-for-sale-in-dayton-ohio-45439 If you have not done so already, I would suggest listing it over on the BuickV8 site
  7. Does anyone recognize this trophy - it would have been from either a Great Lakes Regional or a National meet probably late 80's
  8. That's great news Ronnie, this is a service that few collector car owners have the benefit of having

If people try to tilt the headrest which is a wonderful feature especially for traveling, the first time it will be really tight and you feel like you might break it then they finally give, do it a few more times and they are then good to go

    Seats

If you reread my post I said there is a difference in the bolsters between standard seats and 16 way seats. If the ones you looked at had one seat with regular bolster and one with standard seat then they have been changed out at some time, you either got regular like your first photo or the larger one on the 16 way.
  11. Dave, did you dye the leather to match the interior? I can't see how these wheels would fit/match the interior style of the Reatta since it totally is devoid of any wood unless the woodgrain trim from a Riv was changed out into a Reatta which in my opinion looks hideous and out of place.

Spending money to have the seats repaired with old used leather is throwing money away, if you are going to pay an upholsterer to rip them apart, get them totally done. The old leather especially in either of those seats is going to be bad before you know it anyway.

I think what you are seeing is the drivers seat crushed down from more use, both sides are exactly the same in style and shape on standard seats then the same on 16 way except the passenger one doesn’t extend. The front under-leg booster is definitely bigger on the 16 way seats over the standards. You can see in the picture of a low mileage one both sides are the same. In my opinion for the overinflated cost of the Reatta when new they all should have come with the superior 16 way seats as standard, the standard seats are barely adequate for s car of that cost and status.
  14. Yes, let ‘s all show some appreciation in the useful form
  15. I thought the cowl area was rather unique that might help pinpoint it
  16. the wagon could be a 71 or 2 as well, there is not enough detail to tell that it would be a 73, there are at least 4 71/72 era cars in the photo including the wagon
  17. Anyone have any idea what type and year car this is, it was said to be a Buick but not sure about that
  18. There are a couple with some knowledge, but not near the knowledge here. Links to here and your site are often posted. It's a summer weekend also, alot of people are off playing and having fun and not inside on the computer or device. Just like voting in elections, only a handful ever reply or do it
  19. I thought you were talking the 50's Supers in general, believe that full change to the same body as Roadmaster started in 1951, having had a 53, 55 I know they shared the exact body/size with Roadmaster and totally differed from the smaller Special
  20. The Super was always a larger body/chassis than the Special
  21. Yes, have used the repair tutorials for years
