  1. I am guessing the green chrysler I bought for under 7200 is now worth 52000 if using this as comparison. It is more rare because it has both the M6 trans and fluid drive "trans".
  2. what was the year Hudson used in the last Jimmy Hoffa movie with Robert DeNiro ? My grandfather had a 54 or 55 that my Dad drove off the dock while "on a date" and some how kicked it into gear while "occupied". Always asked him what was wrong with the back seat. ha
  3. Boy back in the day (early 80's) this looks like the type of build we would destroy kids taking daddies "night rider" trans ams out on friday nights. Talk about a sleeper. Needs more rust.
  4. These years always need a little help in the rear getting the ass up or front down for a slight rake. Like seeing all the good stuff intact. Rad, shroud, AC, ect. But IMO would be better with a white top. My 65 is white, white , red interior so maybe biased
  5. I think there is a endless warehouse of old mopar parts as well for these years. Even finding a fluid coupler is easy. Jist one thing seems to be made of gold. The fuel pump. These are pretty easy to rebuild but even the kits went through the roof. For some reason the new diaphram that is ethanol resistant must be made from material from nasa and is priced as such.
  6. my original 53 has low miles, 45k, and rust in the rock in front of the wheel and in the rear quarter.
  7. I live in Springtown and have never seen this on the road. Considering how small the town is don't know how I missed it especially in 1970's Brown. I can go look at it if anyone is interested.
  8. Is the same type of overdrive they were using in 1939 ? It is a great feature once you master it. The kick down system is a nightmare to find the parts if they get removed but the OD can still be used without them.
  9. I think I saw this at a show some months back and was interested in it just from the perspective that much is alike of a 31 plymouth but how far ahead my plymouth was in brakes and fuel system. Used it as comparison. The colors of this matches my 31 Plymouth which I think will soon be going up for sale as I need the space. Mopar was ahead of them in the tech department till the V8.
  10. I have a couple non running pulled 6's I can sell him cheap for his non running car. They are rare and I need 15k each though. hysterical. If he can get 5k for that he is lucky.
  11. The era when you still order the car in any config you wanted. My father would order his cars stripped to near nothing but insisted on always having power windows because he was missing fingers on his right hand and it was a pain to reach over and roll down the passenger window. Somewhere out there is a couple stripped down Belvedere's with the only option being power windows and power brakes.
  12. The car I always wanted to hot rod with a 413 and a 4 speed. Just because. I bet no slouch with a good 727 auto though. My 63 dodge with a worn 361 but a worked trans isn't a slouch either. It will chirp the tires. Of course with a worn steering box you might be 2 lanes over afterwards. Always loved the turned back windshields and wing windows.
  13. I use commerical rubber backed carpet flooring tiles I normally source from work. Absorbs oil, grease. I salvage these things by the truck load. this on top of the acid eteched floors
  14. How does one go about getting a car classified HPOF ? I have a 53 Plymouth sedan that is original right down to generator, floor mats, coil, and carb. Literally a little old lady only drove it to church on Sundays and bingo on fridays
  15. I work commercial construction as a plumber and end up every job with a truck load of rubber backed carpet squares. Everyone of my cars sits on concrete with rubber backed carpet. 2 weeks ago the sprinkler fitters flooded 6 classrooms so insurance paid for new carpet. They would not even think of drying and cleaning the new carpet that was just put down 2 weeks ago and never walked on. Will never run out after this latest score.
  16. If he invested in a good paint detailing this car would present so much better. I don't think this car has been buffed or waxed in a few decades. Throwing a professional detailer a few hundred you would get back a different car
