  5. the door skin fits like a glove to the old wood frame except the hinge postin side it had a bad crack in it so its now repaired I pried the crack open pored 2 tubes of supper glue in the darn cracks and clamped them back together with 6 c clamps the edges of the cracks I cut beveled on them with a knife sharpest i could find so after i poured the super glue in them i poured sawdust on the bevels I had made to seal the things solid so after I spent 20 min figuring out how to let go of the door i had successfully glued half my hand to cus my hand was so cold did not fill the 2 tube of superglue fill my palm it was a successful repair .I just need it for tracing on new wood but the closer the first part the ezrrrr it is to get the bast fit I can get .I would really appreciate a warm night besides in front of my hot spot heatter .One inch at a time kyle
  6. your right when i use a cnc to make them I will but to test fit hand made ones before I make some programs is safer takes long time to tipe all thoes # in
  7. No I made theas at my house with a ban saw by hand but im going to program a cnc mill to make some and your right part # would be good kyle
  8. Its really cold past 3 days only got vary little done but i'm proud of how these are coming along 3 new door hing post made that's so I have one to draw in 3d after i get doors hung on my 1925 Master roadster .there is not a square at all to base all dimensions on every cut is at 8 deg + or _ on all sides some 4 deg. to on ends . it took me 5 hr to make 3 so I bet this part is A 7 on a 10 scale of hard im going to program my cnc to make some of this shape hinge post tomorrow i will cut the 3 deg cuts where the hinges bolt on -- one inch at a time kyle
  9. you like to use it to back up a bend your hammering out right ? have you ever used a i'm not sure the right name but its for connecting a cable to another cable at a 90 deg. turn they must be forged because i have one big one I like to shape metal on top of It has the shape im always looking for wile shaping steel .Be for I use to use a twist like the hitch in this picture . kyle
  10. one hr cut tapper 5 to cut splines 1 hr cut key for one. but to make 2 is 4 hr less in set up time for mill I think Hue that would be probably around 11 hr to make both at same time you would save a lot of time for 2
  11. nice work getting them made would be fast way to keep moving forward
  12. laid out that way makes it look so easy just make one of each right . no way it is lots of time but once drawn in a cnc it is faster but still take a day to make and longer for long parts for just the harder parts to copy thanks Hubert -kyke
  13. Huebert -25-25 has new looking ones on his cherry looking Buick where you find those Hue???
  14. I should be able to get the arm rest out of the same cut block as the curved right and left side upper left over.
  15. I Will become a member, and take my old cars out for a drive !!! for sure I made a new set of rear door posts and will do the same for all the other door frames and forward posts so I have some in my hand while I test run a few in one of my cnc`s I Will help some guys get their projects moving again God is always watching out for me so I should do the same .Here's how far I got today had to make a makeshift dust collector I have a really big one but its stuck behind my model A 1932 truck right now . its so cold don't fill like moving everything around, to get it but I will this weekend and hook it up with a 5`` hose to all my wood stuff I like using my band saw most of all to make every cut I use them so often at the machine shop and I have cnc band saws to that makes it fast .this first picture is how I get most of my parts so close my favorite thing to use in my shop play-doh put it in a plastic bag and push it in the hole and mike it to get the inside dimensions to fit like a glove when I was teaching Aircraft mechanic school I always showed the students the fastest way to make parts I built one off aircraft for 15 years crop dusters are a lot of fun to make from scratch .I am a self taught machinist just bought a lathe and started playing with it for 35 years making gears is my favorite thing to do I think i'm the only shop in my town that makes them the same day they're ordered all the time make a blank out of any thing steel brass plastic nowadays I been letting my son run the shop but right now he is gone on his honeymoon .
  16. ok spread the word I will draw them in 3D all the hard parts any way - and get out my tool cutter grinder and make a few custom shaped cutters for hard wood and see how fast I can make a set of wood for a roadster -- kyle
  17. the roadster has a valve in the exhaust that's what made me think of it the last owner left notes tied all over the car one tied to the valve saying the clamp in the valve held the clamp for the speedo cable and it has 2 pipes that came with it so i thought it might need a heater . to be correct , when mark Shaw was here at my house he told me the right paint job on engine is green would not take much to make it perfect so i think i will change the finish on the overhead valve 6 . I shur been thinking about the next car i'm planning on building a english wheel and making a copy of the roadster body for the 1924 Buick that's in my driveway right now it only has the complete front end that is in really good shape and I checked the engine out I think it will start and drive right now the guy i bought them off of said they were parked in the hanger not pushed in 1980 the cylinder walls looked in nice shape I pulled the plugs and filled the hole thing full of oil that is the way i like to store my future projects done it that my whole life .Shaping the body is no big job I like making suits of armor to . but use a hammer to do it all .hobby #43 making planishing hammers well my day was spent getting ready for the freeze to night cover all the vegetation so it would not freeze .all i wanted to work on was my 25 wood project now its like 28 deg . I did squeeze a little time in thought shaping some wood the trunk is done door posts and doors next .I Was thinking of making a few maybe 12 sets of wood for 1925 wood kits i do have 2 other 1924-1927 the wood in the 27 is really nice to use as patterns what do u guys think i was bummed that i could not buy a starting kit at least the basic shapes to start with just set up 4 or 5 cnc and have them in no time
  18. well to day I will make the uprights including door post and hopefully the bench seat . my motto one inch at a time .- Kyle
