  1. That's what I'd try too, and you can set a reserve. I've been to most of the big auctions at Scottsdale and Monterey, your car could go that way too, but it's higher cost for sure!
  2. Nice looking cars! I did have a Model A in the past, and I am the care taker for my city's '25 Chevy, which allows me to participate in the local vintage Chevy club. An "A" would be a consideration, but it has some deficiencies; very high brake pedal effort and lower cruising speed. I've seen cars that are modified to eliminate both of those (I attended a "Hot for Hot Fours" meet a few years ago) so that is a possibility.

  4. Looks an "honest" car... https://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto/d/mountain-view-1940-chevy-master-85/7514672076.html Never had any rustVery original car with all the dings and dents that come along with being loved and driven for over 80 yearsMostly original paint (Alameda green) with just the right amount of patinaAll soft parts have been replaced (seals, grommets, weatherstripping, bushings, entire interior) no squeaks or rattlesStarts easy hot or cold even with original 6v systemExtremely reliable as I will often commute to work from Mountain View to Alameda with itThis is a bare bones car as everything was an option for these master 85 modelsSome things were added to make the driving experience better: carpet kit and fully refurbished heater from a deluxe model, horn on the column, modern aftermarket temp gauge which never gets above 190This car needs nothing and would prefer if the next caretaker would keep honoring how awesome this car is in its current formI’ve got a lot more information about this car if you want to know anything more specificFrom previous owner:Engine rebuilt by original owner before they passed awayTransmission rebuilt using NOS partsVacuum shift assist removedNew clutch and resurfaced/ rebalanced flywheelRebuilt carbRebuilt steering boxNew gas tank mounted in trunkEntire brake system rebuilt (master/slaves/shoes/flex lines)5 recent tiresNew rubber running boardsAll glass excellent except for slight discoloration of the wing windows email: ace0b4c1d26d3654984e9e8d0858eb8c@sale.craigslist.org
  5. Not a fan of the paint...something tells me the upholstery might not be right either.... https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/d/el-sobrante-1941-packard-110-business/7514511490.html 6 cyl, 3 speed transmission. Recently rebuilt engine and braking system. New tires and shocks, all the flat glass has been replaced along with all the seals, door slides etc. All the instruments work, it has a radio and heater. Shows 69,400 on the odometer, excellent paint and upholstery. Western car originally sold in Denver, CO, the steel is very good on this car. Nice car drive anywhere (510) 223-9587
  6. Looks nice (it better at this price!) https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/d/petaluma-1934-chevy-master-coupe/7514850841.html Very nice old car for sale. Call or email for details. (707) 363-1366
  7. OHV Cadillac was a popular swap circa 1950. Briggs Cunningham ran Cadillacs at Le Mans in 1950 (finished 10th) after the governing body wouldn't allow his first choice: Fordillac ( 50 Ford with Cadillac engine). I agree it would be blasphemy in a pre-war Packard. Some cars are OK to modify, some are NOT!
  8. In the dim past I had a Model A. Now I'm thinking about another car for similar vintage, something between 1925 and early 30's. We're partial to the style of the earlier cars but we have two requirements: My wife must be able to drive it and it must be capable of travel in the slow lane on the freeway during light traffic conditions (cruise at 50ish). I'm interested in a driver, not a show car, and although we wouldn't want anything that looked like a hot rod, an "improved" Model A (better brakes and maybe overdrive) would work, plus the Ford has an active club which meets down the street. On the other hand a Buick or a Chrysler product seems much more car for the money. Buick also has a local club, but Chrysler has supposedly better brakes. A '30 Buick 46S that might fit the budget (+/- 20-25K)... We don't want a sedan but don't require an open car either. Smaller is better in my wife's opinion. I'm not against thinking "outside the box" ...we currently own a '51 Simca Sport. What do you think?
  9. Perhaps in another 6 months the price will be adjusted (although to get real it will require a big attitude adjustment by the seller)
  10. Certainly has a lot of "presence"! I edited the ad copy...use original from link to treat insomnia https://austin.craigslist.org/cto/d/rockdale-1929-packard-640-sedan-very/7514324044.html This car was owned for the last 53 years by a older car collector, where it was stored inside with his other cars. In 1990 the previous owner replaced 8 exhaust valves, 1 intake valve, 2 valve guides, block gasket, water jacket gasket, pan gasket, intake/exhaust gaskets and replaced the head studs and painted the motor, which there are pictures in the folder of all the work and receipts. Also replaced the complete wiring harness. The tank was sent off to be cleaned and sealed and it looks new. There is a folder with tons of receipts, parts, work, and old pictures of the work and the car. Still have the Packard's owners manuel and books. The transmission shifts like new and the brakes work good as well. This car is still 6 volt and cranks instantly and everything still works. The interior was redone back in the day and looks great. All the woodgrain in the car is in great shape and the interior light still works. Suicide doors for luxury of getting in and out easier. The inside is extremely comfortable and has tons of room. Rear luggage rack with suitcase trunk still there. The running boards are in great shape but the material on top shows its age a little. It's also got there lights added on the bumper to make it even brighter at night, they just need to be hooked up real quick if you want them to work. All the glass is good and the windows role down good. All the tires look great and also has the two spare tires. The hooga horn still works. This car has a amazing body underneath and all the way around. Its very straight and the blue looks pretty good but the black paint on the fenders show its age by having chips. 512-760-566FIVE I don't email or text much just call me.
  11. Do all the work yourself and you'll only be $10K in the hole

  13. No Price so no way to know how reasonable (or "un") the seller will be... https://reno.craigslist.org/cto/d/reno-1935-packard-window-business-coupe/7514460460.html 1935 Packard "120" 3-window business coupe, very rare and original, only year with suicide doors, straight 8, not running, stored for decades, restore stock or would make an awsome street-rod, will sell for best reasonable offer, please no lowballers, this rare Packard has unlimited potential and is an excellent investment, it is rollable, steerable and has clear title, also includes some extra parts. 14. Still for sale at $22,950...I think you are correct! Here's a link to the current ad: https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/d/aromas-1917-buick-d45-touring/7514406206.html
  15. Very desirable model, but is it $38K worth? Hard to say with these few poor pictures and little description to speak of. https://dallas.craigslist.org/ndf/cto/d/mckinney-1932-buick-series-56-doctors/7508098510.html Older body off restoration. Very rare. Perfect Condition. Trades ok.If interested, please call/text Tim Thompson at 214-616-8316.
  16. What we can see looks very nice but I doubt you can get that much for a '27 Dodge sedan, no matter how nice it is. (I also wonder about the interior color...I hope it's not what it looks like in the pictures) https://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/d/spokane-1927-dodge-brothers/7509153229.html 1927 Dodge Brothers four door series 126 sedan. Beautiful paint and restoration. The car came from a show room in Atlanta Georgia. (509) 445-0765
  17. I thought the price was really high, but I see its ACTUALLY original (as apposed to the typical "all original, painted twice and reupholstered once").
  18. Restored 22 years ago. Looks pretty nice but not $25K nice. Also nothing Hemi about a flathead dodge 4 cylinder no matter what color they paint it. Not sure why the pictures are so small! https://boise.craigslist.org/cto/d/emmett-1929-dodge-delivery-van/7512906405.html 1929 Dodge Brothers Bread Truck. Frame off restoration. 4 cylinder flat head "Silver Dome", so this is really an early Hemi. 3 speed, 4 wheel hydraulic brakes. Runs well. This truck came out of La Pine, Oregon in the early seventies and a complete restoration was completed around 2000. Also included is a separate 6 cylinder with 4 speed (needs to be rebuilt) and numerous boxes of spare parts. This truck has been driven on several tours, but total mileage on restoration is easily less than 5000 miles. $25000.00 OBO...A restoration like this can NOT be done for the price of this van! Call Roy (208) 963-1181
  19. These "T" competitors don't come up much. https://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/regina/1916-chevrolet-490/1625763795?undefined Car was driven into a barn, put on blocks and parked in 1950, and had not seen the sun till last week. All complete, engine turns over and the tires hold air. Lots of extra parts included. It should not take much to get it running again. Located in Regina, SK. Contact through site
