  1. I once owned an 80 Cavalier. I think if I heard someone bought one now, I would be impressed, but maybe not the way you are thinking!

  3. Lots of words, little useful information. https://abilene.craigslist.org/cto/d/abilene-buick-marquette/7515827065.htm what a nice old vintage car. This car has character, and it runs good too. I bought this car, did a tune-up and have been driving it all over town. It is a joy to drive. Even the vacuum wiper works, I put in a small heater under the dash, psgr side. You can tell by the pics that i drive this car, not just 4th of july parades.Seats are in good shape, the wood is all solid, no sagging doors, glass is good and they all roll up and down very well.Tires are almost new.The paint is faded, and wow, what a nice chrome rad grill, Hey, leave me a msg if you have any q,s , new top and headliner by previous owner,,,email: 639f9b577c5638fc96c91d10f31ac991@sale.craigslist.org

  5. Yes! Fluid Drive (or GM Powerglide)...I remember a demonstration where they set up two house hold fans, facing each other and then turned one one, which made the other one go 'round. It showed how "fluid drive" worked. I could help thinking "wouldn't a shaft be better?"
  6. At least they got the part about Hudson right....
  7. The location looks to be about 2 hours from Las Vegas, so you could do it but you'd have to be pretty sure about what you'd find when you get there. There's a huge difference in style between early 30's and late 30's and for me at least, that's the issue. I'm not looking for a 65mph cruise, but you need 55 to not be hazard, and a lot of places not far away don't have routes that allow slower travel. Regarding gas tank in the dash...similar to VW and Porsche probably the least likely place to suffer impact damage.
  8. A very reasonable question! I've been thinking about an early 30's Buick or Chrysler for just that reason. On the other hand, Model A has a huge community, parts of which support not only "high point" restorations but also modifications. A down draft Holley isn't everybody's cup of tea but no one will lose their mind over it either, and because these modifications are in current production, parts are readily available.
  9. Maybe just get it running and drive it! Could be pretty reasonable under those circumstances if you don't hit a huge mechanical ice berg.
  10. I think this is actually a lot easier on the eye (not to say it looks good)
  11. I'm been to Zion, and Utah is a nice place, with very nice people. I wouldn't say where I live is better, but it's a different situation if you are selling a collector car. If you consider the amount of potential buyers within easy driving distance, of even a major airport, I think it does make it harder to sell. Also, people who live in rural areas do drive farther, and their car choices reflect that. That's all I was trying to say.
  12. I really don't like it when they give no indication of price. In this case there's also no indication of condition. https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/d/bellingham-1927-essex/7517793283.html 1927 Essex 2 door made by Hudson Motor car company all originalmake me an offer. email: dae56a5f0926322cb6872f7310314294@sale.craigslist.org
  13. Pretty cute. They need to have someone stand next to it so you understand the size. That motor is 45 cubic inches.
  14. Funny how similar cars come up together! Here's "Field Find" (sadly outside) for similar money: https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/d/hemet-1946-buick-roadmaster/7517729001.html '46 Roadmaster $7K OBO

  16. Not sure about the pricing, but seems like they made an attempt to be honest. Refreshing! https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/d/windsor-1960-oldsmobile-98-convertible/7518050163.html 950 Oldsmobile 98 Convertible. Nice restored car.. I know nothing about the restoration, when it was done or who did it. My guess from being around the car is this was a decent restoration with a driver quality paint job. You can pick it apart up close but at 10 feet it looks great.. The engine was rebuilt from the looks of how clean everything is and how clean it is under the valve covers. The underside of the car is clean as well.. It runs and drives well. Here are the bads: the car needs tinkering as I believe it was never completely sorted out after the restore. One rear quarter glass is broken. The fit on the doors needs adjustment.. The back of the hood needs pushed down after opened. Carburetor can use a freshen up as the accelerator pump is lazy. It's a cool car with tons of potential.. It's a lot of car for the money. email: b8c6c45c9fbf3ed99d39b569b8fd137b@sale.craigslist.org

  18. This one is interesting partially because it has every bell and whistle, but BOY, is it geographically challenged. Check the map associated with the listing and zoom out...not exactly "down town'. Maybe that's why they wanted all these distance enhancing features.
  19. I like it too but those big whites make me think of the one Donald Duck drove:
  20. Good thing it's not $40K, that would be too high. Looks nice but color and interior will limit buyers. https://boise.craigslist.org/cto/d/twin-falls-1950-mercury-monterey/7513674519.html 1950 Mercury Monterey flat head V8. 255 cubic inch 2 barrel carb 3 on the tree transmission. 21. If you didn't have that overhang on the rear window, either end could be the front.
