  1. Sounds like you need me to bring you an Olds 403 to put in it... šŸ˜
  2. Hereā€™s a little more opinion on the X-cars. Not saying I agree with it 100%, but they are factors to consider... https://www.automobilemag.com/news/gm-x-cars-chevrolet-citation-oldsmobile-buick-pontiac-photos-history/?sm_id=paid:sm_id:fb:gen:Mto&o_test:link_clicks:GM_X_cars:am
  3. Normally Iā€™d recommend to always run transmission fluid through the radiator tank last to maintain consistent fluid temps. They work best in a certain temp range, and running the fluid too cool can be as bad as too hot. In your neighborhood, thatā€™s probably not that big of an issue, though. Just helped my brother put a cooler on his ā€˜Burban. He lives in Nebraska and this is his daily, so itā€™s absolutely a big deal. 270Ā°F may be where rapid fluid deterioration occurs, but long durations at 225Ā° can be enough to cause significant breakdown. As a general rule, when ATF temps hit 200Ā°F, itā€™s time to do something different. Do you still have the electronic carb on this car?
  4. There was even a low-rider there, but NO SCALLOPS! Really, I donā€™t think there's a problem with younger generations being interested in old cars. I think itā€™s more an issue of selling the value of the club to them. Back in the days before the internet, the club was a vital resource for parts & information. How many folks sign up just to show a car when the Nationals are somewhat local, then let their membership lapse? ENGAGING younger members and keeping them active in the club is the real challenge that needs to be met. Thatā€™s probably a topic for another thread, though. Sorry again, Speedo!
  5. I still have plenty of SPAM, too. I was the only taker!
  6. It was also nice to chat with @old-tank and @Ben Bruce aka First Born while we were here! (I love the guys who DRIVE their cars, and arenā€™t afraid to do little modifications to make them more useful.) Who else am I forgetting... šŸ§
  7. No Hi is likely the relay. Iā€™d jumper battery voltage to the blower to see what happens, then check for voltage in/out at the relay. Are any of the other relays the same part number so you can swap for diagnostics? If you lose a lower speed or two, thatā€™s usually a resistor thatā€™s burnt out, but Hi should be straight bus voltage.
  8. Hey, four of those are mine! (The cones...)
  9. I created this for the banquet, but we went a different direction. http://web.photodex.com/view/8mwk77x4 (no audio)
  10. Cooler is in place. Crackers are still in the ā€˜56...
  11. Ok, the cheese & the SPAM are all sliced up! Iā€™ll have a blue cooler by the power box under the trees in the middle of archival row. If anyone wants to deposit some beverages in the cooler, Iā€™ll let them! Iā€™ll be helping Chuck Nixon marshal in cars first thing. Iā€™ll have the name ā€œDizzyā€ on my shirt.
  12. Yeah, I was talking with Bruce last night, but he obviously remembered my name better than I did his. Without seeing my credentials, he called me by name, and I was talking to him for a minute or two before my brain clicked, ā€œOh, this is the guy with the tix!ā€ lol One ticket is gone, and I decided to pass on the other. I need to get up early Sunday, so Iā€™m gonna stick to my original plan.
  13. The wife says I should take you up on this, if they are available (but I have no idea what Bruce looks like).
  14. This photo was asked for, so here it is... *information subject to change*
  15. lol, sorry Speedo... They are very nice repros. There are a couple samples on my table on the south end of the garage.
  16. The only shade I have is at my swap meet table, but it is not fully under cover (right next to Pete). There are some nice shade trees on the south end of the lot where Tux is currently sitting. Iā€™m certainly capable of supplying some crackers and SPAM.
  17. Speaking of the swap meet, BUY SOME ROUTE 66 signs! My wife is getting tired of moving them. šŸ¤£ Every state available except NM.
  18. lol... I saw remotes, but no recievers. The keyless entry reciever for Pepper recently went bonkers and started cycling solenoids randomly. We didnā€™t get a remote with the car so I just unplugged the box. Problem solved, for now.
  19. The different categories of car as registered; for instance, Tux is a 54-58 V8 car, which is a class H, so it will be roughly in the H area. Those lables are all post-it notes and subject to change. The numbers are based on current registrations. Iā€™m away from the hotel, but when I see Chuck Nixon again, Iā€™ll get a photo of an updated diagram.
  20. WHAT?!? There was a WHOLE ROW dedicated just to you! Do I need to bring my camper up from Thunderbird to fill the space?
  21. My wife thinks the same thing. She doesnā€™t pump gas thoughā€¦ 50 miles away from OKC! Then I get to go back home tomorrow, load the 56 on a trailer, and do it all over again! Glad I have a tail wind with the camperā€¦
  22. Dex 3 is fine for the transmission. DOT 3 is probably fine for the brakes. Some of us have converted to DOT 5 because itā€™s not as corrosive, but that is unusual. Iā€™d ask the previous owner to be sure, because 3 & 5 are incompatible, but 5 is fairly unusual. If you dip a towel in the brake reservoir and find that it is straw colored fluid, itā€™s DOT 3.
  23. Also, Dynaflows don't shift automatically. If you really need to get it moving, pull it down into low. Once you are up to speed, shift it back to drive. It will hit hard, and I wouldn't recommend doing it all the time. I don't know that it's really bad, but that shock loading has to take its toll...
