  1. I especially love the speedo and gauges designed into the center of the dashboard and the podium look of the underneath the speedo assembly going to the floor! You could not replicate the resto work for $85K. If you have an appropriate place to park and care for this car the price doesn't seem to far off.
  2. A day or 2 ago I saw a 38 Buick Century sell on eBay for just under 13 grand!! It was restored a few years ago and looked nice in pictures Either the market fell out of pre war Buicks or a bottom feeder on eBay got very lucky. I would think the Buick would've gone for at least $20,000. I mean it was a Century!! 1938 Buick Century Century Restored - No Reserve!! Winning bid: US $12,877.00
  3. These Zephyr's were incepted by Edsel and designed by E.T Gregorie as a lower priced Lincoln to complete with the domestic competition. At the time Edsel was working extensively with Briggs. Since they were working with an existing platform the cowl height could not be raised or lowered and it became a real challenge for Gregorie to design the bodywork of the front clip. Don't remember all the details of what I read but the book was no doubt eye opening: Edsel: The Story of Henry Ford's Forgotten Son Henry L. Dominguez
  4. Did the brainless robot install the hub caps smashing the stems? Or did they install tricky 90 degree stems that I have seen on buses?
  5. Pretty nice car. The seller does disclose the car will need brake work; one in a million! The seller doesn't show the passenger side of the car or the undercarriage; the paint has worn thin on the left front door, fender hood. If this is original paint then I guess you can call it patina! The left rear tire has a sticker on the tread so the chances are it won't need tires. I don't think this car would too much to make it a decent driver!
  6. These 2 door sedans don't bring much money. If you have very nice original you could probably get 15 for it. However this car is far from a nice original. IMHO the brown exterior doesn't do this car any favors! As Kingrudy points out the 12V wiring conversion is not completed; probably best to start over and leave it as a 6V system. Mr Flipper probably is going to get the short end of the stick on this one.
  7. An 8 lug convertible Bonney; I like this one. Assuming the car is in decent condition with no major malady's $24,999 is not bad! But I noticed there is no center console which I would expect that to come standard on a Bonneville. The seller states it's been sitting for 20 years, ugh! The set of pictures are incomplete.
  8. I believe it's been lowered... A lot these cars get converted to 12 volts for a custom high powered stereo systems and an air bag suspension. I believe that's where the seller was taking this one and for some reason he gave up!
  9. Well I not so sure I am going to like this car because it's not original. The red painted areas in the engine compartment are too stark for my tastes. He converted the electrical system to 12 volts, why? But the real question is what's wrong with the wiring and why is not finished? Did he give up? I see a speaker mounted in the drivers kick panel.... ugh!! If the car was completed I could see a firm 20 grand. However the seller did not finish the wiring and the ivory colored vinyl upholstery hurts the value on this car. maybe 12 to 15 grand is more reasonable.
  10. This Caddy is a 4 door 1962 series 62 going for $11,500 the or 4 door Caddy is a 63 going for 19,500 in similar shape. Why is there a $7000 difference? The other car looks good but has no A/C! This one looks good and came with A/C I see a dent on the left rear quarter panel near the lower part of the taillight. I like this car better than the 1963.
  11. Pretty cool Caddy. Those chrome door edge guards need to go; they detract from the look of the car! This is a "no A/C" car, that's something I would expect to see in a Caddy. I don't know but is $19,500 Fair? It seems to me to be a bit high. Maybe something around $15 would be more reasonable to me. So if I were to fly in and buy it the seller says I could drive it home; to southern California? Really? I don't think I would take him up on that!
  12. WOW, I'll take the 1970 Eldo! That is one of my favorites and I think it's one of the favorites of the contributing members of this message board. The chocolate brown interior looks awesome. The body overall looks straight and original paint looks ok. The ad says it has "power EVERYTHING" as should for a Caddy! But what it doesn't say is whether all those power accessories work. Moreover does the A/C work? This Eldo has the vinyl top which IMO not a good color for my taste. Heck I like these better without the vinyl top!!!
  13. Craigslist ad has been deleted. Not surprised because Chevy Fleetlines are popular out here in Cali....
  14. It might be fair deal but can't be 100% sure because of the lame pictures!
  15. It's been said many times before and I'll say it again if you are selling a car for a sizeable amount of money you should have an inclusive set of pictures! These pictures shot in a dark and dingy warehouse doesn't do this car any justice. This is the same museum that was selling 50 Pontiac (posted here) and the pictures of it were a bit worse than this one. In fact I called VP Bob Adams and requested more photos of the Pontiac and he never sent them! This is a museum car so the car has been sitting for while so it will probably need work to get it roadworthy.
  16. This car stunning and presents very well. But if you want to sell something like that you have to include a good set of photos! I love the green exterior color. The chrome looks good too. But there are too many questions? It's on the east coast and I am on the west coast otherwise I would have a bigger interest in it!
  17. I don't think I have seen crappier pictures than what's here!
  18. Though i have interest in many years of cars I tend to buy cars from the mid 30's to the late 50's. I won't buy a car that can't hold it's own with todays cars on the streets and highways. A model T is a good example. However I do like to see them. I do think if the car is beyond hope of seeing the street ever again or certain key parts are propped up to show what the pieces are supposed to be are irrelevant my book. Those listings should be in another thread. I still think the current format is very popular as it's a daily stop for most car nuts. I would not have known about 2 cars that I have purchased if it weren't for this thread.
  19. What's here is pretty entertaining and this format can probably not be improved on.
