  1. I may be wrong but I do not think those wheels are 1926 as there are only 4 lugs. It would help if you can give a few measurements, such as the rim diameter at the back of the rim and also the diameter of the brake drums, which are fitted to front wheels and not rears as you described. looking at the pictures they may be 1927 4 cyl wheels but are most likely 1928 wheels.
  2. Whilst this car was built in Oct 25, the car is basically a 1926 model G70 as is still common today the new car year starts in July. The engine number should be on the top of the front timing cover case and should start with a G. The 1925 Chryslers did not have the Fedco numbering system and Chrysler only adopted the Fedco system with the 1926 models.
  3. Hi, Those Fedco numbers you have posted are missing a letter at the front. Look very carefully at the fedco plates they start with two letters followed by three numbers and then a final letter. I'm assuming you are talking 4 cyl motors on the early cars, look on the left side of the block just above the water outlet for engine numbers and post a few pictures of the dash/instrument panels and the cars, this will help us to identify what you have. Viv.
  4. The one on the right is of similar design to the ones on a 1936 Terraplane that I restored. Maybe for a different year of Hudson or Terraplane??
  5. Thanks for your replies, however what I am really looking for are the specifications of a 370 bearing so that I can compare the details against the 366 bearing. PLEASE NOTE THE 370A is a different bearing. Below is the detailed specs on the 366, does anyone have specs like this for the 370 thanks
  6. These are some pictures I have taken off the nett over the years. From all the pictures I have seen there are a solid version as shown in the following 2 pictures and a two piece version. Knowing Chrysler it is possible that cars of a series may have used both types during production. Sadly these parts are NOT listed in the pre 34 parts book.
  7. If you look in front of the radiator you will find 4 holes, 2 on each side that it bolts onto. I can't remember which way is up or front but it becomes pretty self explanitary when trying to fit it. It is a deflector plate to send air thru the radiator.
  8. Interesting info, thanks guys. Apologies Leo for not coming back to you as we are having long power outages in this country. I didn't know about these units, but now we both know.
  9. It is a differential carrier bearing for my 1928 Chrysler series 62. I know the bearing was a 362 cup and 370 cone . I bought 2 x 370 cones off ebay and the vendor supplied me with 2 x 366 instead. The 366 appears to be the right bore size and will work with the 362 cup, but I am not sure about the radius where it butts up against the housing. I have found all the specs for the 366 but can find nothing on the 370 as this bearing appears to be obsolete. I've looked in all my bearing catalogues and on line, but only the 370A comes up, which is a different bearing.
  10. Hi, Please can anyone give me the specifications for a Timken 370 bearing, in particular the corner radius. I have been supplied with a 366 which appears to have the right bore size but need to compare the radius to see if they will fit, Please note the 370A is a totally different bearing and I can find no info on the 370 as it no longer is in Timken books Thanks.
  11. Has anyone tried these filters from Andy Bernbaum? Would like some feedback please
  12. Reposted with a different upload, hope this is now readable, please advise if you cannot see the articles, Viv
  13. With the Canadian number plate it may have also been called a Rugby, although I'm not sure if the Rugby name may have only been used on export cars.
  14. Try asking at http://www.metropartsmarket.com/, they do a lot of old car screens, your car is not listed on their web page but no harm in asking.
  15. Those are very similar to the ones on my 1935 Ford phaeton, that clamp the front top header bow to the windshield stantions
  16. Hi all, I came across this info in a book yesterday and thought it might be of interest to those with early cars. It just proves how many variations there are just in rear axles. Hope this may be of help to guys looking for gears regards Viv. It would appear that some cannot find the pictures, so will try reloading them , hope this time they are readable, please let me know if they are not.
  17. 1930 Ford model A, the bottom half is missing
  18. Hi RRS, The 6 cylinder Auburns I had, used 2 different types of headlights. One type had a much shorter light as in your first pictures, but they had a big dome on the bottom that fitted directly into a similar spherical dome in the fender, those ones had a molding on top of the lights. The second type were a longer headlight , very similar to 36 Hudson Terraplane, and they bolted onto a casting between the fender and the light. This type the base was very similar to the picture you show, it had an internal bracket with 6 rivets holding the shell, same as in your picture. These lights could also be ordered with a top molding. With changes in Auburn's demise I wonder if these may have been a 3rd option?? The screw into the side of your light is also strange and I wonder if it has been added at a later date. Sorry, I cannot say for sure that your light is Auburn, but good luck with your light. regards Viv.
  19. Sorry, only the parts I have listed. No spare engine stuff at all.
  20. Yes 3macboys, I had a 35 Auburn 653 with Stabilite headlights like these and they had a molding across the top of them. These lights could be the same, but depends on the base mounting.
  21. Can you post a picture of the base mounting
  22. "It is NOT illegal to remove and /or remount a VIN tag. It is only illegal if it is done in an attempt to deceive." Restorer32, I suggest you google removing and remounting vin numbers, there is lots of info on why you must not tamper with or remove vin numbers for any reason. It varies from state to state and can be a federal or state offence, or both, to remove vin numbers, even to repaint underneath, without getting permission first and if necessary your state police involved. In some states you can be arrested, fined and jailed for removing the vin without permission. In some instances cars have been impounded and destroyed where authorities get involved. In other cases where vin plates have been removed to repaint a car, it may mean that you cannot sell the car, as it may cause problems later down the line. My advice to anyone wanting to remove the vin for restoration or repair work is, talk to your local authorities BEFORE you remove a vin number.

  25. Hi All, I have been buying parts for my 1926 Chrysler G70 and 1928 Model 62 and for many years I've shipped parts to my sister in Canada, so that I can later freight parts I needed over to me. I have these brake parts that are sitting in Canada that are excess to requirements and need to go, if you are interested in them please PM me and if you think my price is too high, then shoot me an offer. Price does not include shipping/postage. The condition of the 2 wheel cylinders is not known and may need work. Sold as is. Regards Viv Rear brake backing plates L+R with brake bands, mechanism and wheel cylinders, as seen in pictures. These came off a series 72 wreck. As far as I can tell these parts also fit series 62, the later 27 series G70(finer 70) and possibly the series 60. The cylinders will not fit early 1926 series B70 and G70, nor will they work on series 50/52 and 58. Asking 200usd plus shipping, both sides included.
