Sure u can ohm out the coil wire.. Unlikely for it to be bad.. My money is on the points.. If they haven't been touched since being parked they'll be bad in the sense of having a film on the contacts.. Or rusted.. Filing them when probably get it to spark for you but I'd be replacing them

How dirty is the cap and rotor.. Pretty sure you mentioned it but I'll mention again.. File the points

I'll go against the grain here and suggest you get an adapter and get yourself a brand spanking new Holley 350cfm 2300 series.. Go to eBay and look up item number 263002067357 that's the adapter you'll need.. And yes you will no longer have the pedal start but that's easy to over come

That sounds about right..I prefer the manual steering... Who is offering that kit??

After rechecking myself it's apparently the 55 pedals that have a different angle.. Of course that still brings up the question of how these new ones would work in a 55.. They are advertised as fitting 55-56 all models

So my 56 special still has the original greenish gas pedal... According to the shop manual there's two pedals with different angles depending on the car series but both Bob's and old cars shows one black pedal for all models.. Any idea how well these one size fits all pedals work?

Just to do a quick update.. Bearings and intake are sold.. Still have other parts including a very clean correct four barrel air cleaner..100 bucks plus shipping.. Among many odds and ends just ask:)

It was only an extra ten dollars a month for the best full coverage my provider has plus the agreement of paying an extra 20 percent of its value if totaled..I was shocked it was only ten bucks should have done it years ago
