  1. Bolt on style fenders were common on old cars. I would guess this is a 40's item from the shape and paint color but for the make, we'll need a better expert than me to ID it. Terry
  2. Standard Motor Products Blue Streak catalog from 1939. Covers all parts produced by them for automotive starting, lighting and ignition applications. Many pictures and descriptions of the items and usually includes the mfgr part number reference. Applications cover most all makes from mid-1920s to 1939. Catalog is in very good shape with some finger print soiling on a few of the pages (shown in pictures). Measures 8 1/2" x 10 3/4" and contains 110 pages of information and LOTS of pictures of these parts! Great reference item. Asking $20 plus $4 shipping in the USA. Personal checks, money orders and paypal accepted for payment. Thanks, Terry Boyer Lititz PA 17543
  3. Original color sales brochure for a 1930 Willys-Knight Model 70-B. Measures 8" x 10 1/2" with 7 pages of information on all body types of the Model 70-B. Has some minor soiling and very light crease marks but in overall great condition for a 84 yr old brochure. Asking $37 plus shipping method of buyer's choice. Paypal, personal checks and money orders accepted for payment. Thanks, Terry Boyer Lititz PA 17543
  4. Champion and Auto-Lite catalogs are sold. Blue Crown catalog is still available. Terry
  5. If the distributor was put in incorrectly it will throw off the firing order. You might want to get the timing marks aligned and see where the rotor is pointing. You will need to have #1 cyl on compression stroke to TDC to check this. Terry
  6. Sounds like you have a grounding issue or maybe a wire rubbed through that is touching metal. These are always fun to fix. The battery going dead on its own is a indicator of unwanted current flow in the wiring. It would be best to disconnect the battery terminals until you get it fixed to prevent a fire. Terry
  7. That one is newer than I expected. It mentions charging maintenance free batteries so its much later than my Snap-on unit and newer than anything in my literature collection. A good freind of mine operated a Phillips 66 station for many years. I don't recall him having a Phillips 66 specific battery charger but he did have a roll around unit that he probably got from NAPA as that was his favorite place to get supplies. Terry
  8. Well its NOT 1930-41, at least my catalog doesn't show it for any of those years. The catalog ends with 1941 8 cyl as McCord 6124 so I'm guessing its a little later. Terry
  9. The Motors manual and the Chilton manual will cover many brands besides your Chrysler. They are on ebay. Look up Motors manuals and you will see what I mean. The edition, such as 20th, 14th, ect will determine the years it covers. You will most likely want a 21st edition or earlier. Terry
  10. Have you looked at the Motors or Chilton repair manuals? I find them to be a good supplement to the factory manual in that they were written for repair garages and have procedures that can complement the "how to" descriptions in the shop manual. Prices are reasonable too, from about $15 to $35. Terry
  11. I applaud your choice of a blackwall tire. The use of whitewalls is way overdone in my humble opinion. Good luck in your search. Terry
  12. Looks a lot like a Buick shape. Terry
  13. Looks like it might be a Delco 825430 aka DR193 in the Standard Motor Products catalog. IF it is, its for Elcar 1930, Graham 1930-31, Graham Paige 1929,Kissel 1929-31 and Studebaker 1928-31. Terry
  14. You will need to know if you have a single action pump or a dual action pump. The dual action has a second chamber to create a vacuum source for the wipers. My parts books show both dual action and single action were used in 1938-42 Desotos. Regardless of the type of action, the pumps are the same for 1938-42. That is, a standard pump w/o secondary chamber is the same from 1938-42 and if it has the second chamber, it too is the same from 1938-42. Terry
  15. I was vague in my question. I was looking for the timeframe of the battery charger, like 30's 40' 50's ect. The ebay link you posted is similar to the Snap-on charger I have. I had (but sold) three nos 1940's chargers made by the Allen company that were able to charge up to 5 batteries at a time. They were much smaller than your e-bay item and were more of a trickle charger that would have been used by battery dealers to keep their inventory ready to use. Terry
  16. Nice early spark plug catalogs from Blue Crown, Auto-Lite and Champion from my collection. All are original and in good to very good condition. 1. Blue Crown- Dated 1942. Measures 8 1/2 x 11" and contains 16 pages of information of recommended Blue Crown spark plug types for virtually anything that uses a spark plug. Auto / truck applications are from early 1920's to 1942. Some just say "up to 1927" for fitment. Very good condition. Asking $7 plus $3 postage in the USA. 2. SOLD Auto-Lite- Dated 1946. Measures 8 1/2 x 11" and contains 29 pages of spark plug applications for anything that used spark plugs. Autos, trucks, industrial, farm, cycle, you name it. Auto spark plugs are arrainged in years from 1946-34 on one page and 1933 and earlier on next page. Good to very good condition. Asking $9 plus $3 postage in the USA. 3. SOLD Champion- Dated 1941. Measures 17" wide by 13" high. Opens up to show all types of spark plug applications from 1920's to 1941 again for just about anything that used a spark plug. Printed on light cardboard / heavy paper glossy surface. Has built in button for hanging. Some printing is light from age and it has been folded with wise for a long time but does not show any signs of tearing. Condition fair to good due to fold. Asking $10 plus $3 poatage in the USA. Personal check, money orders and paypal accepted. Can combine shipping if buying more than one catalog. Thanks! Terry Boyer Lititz PA 17543
  17. My Standard Motor Products catalog from 1939 shows the cap to be DR-197 and rotor is DR-149. DR-149 rotor is also used on Packard 1926-27, the cap is only shown to be used on 1930-31 Cadillac and 30-31 LaSalle. Kanter may rotor and wires. Terry
  18. Saw it twice, once in Hagerstown MD and the other in Hazelton PA. Enjoyed both times. Its neat to see all the cars involved. At that time the sponsor was Interstate Batteries. haven't seen it recently under the new sponsors. Terry
  19. Any idea of the timeframe for this item?? I have several pieces of literature on battery testers that I can check. Terry
  20. Richard, I took a look at my 1939 Chrysler Shop manual supplement and in the water pump service section it says to remove the bypass elbow as part of the pump removal process so it seems your '39 originally had one. My 37 Dodge had a bypass and for the life of me I can't seem to remember where the heater hose attached to the water pump. Best wishes, Terry
  21. Take it to the show. You will meet many helpful people there and you will lean a lot about your car from fellow Buick fans. Post some pics here too. Terry
  22. Looks like a 1925 Somthnerother coupe. Could be a 1926 too. Terry
  23. Dodge did not make a V-8 in 1950. Might be 1954 trim based on the Royal V8 emblem. Terry
  24. The little hose between the water pump and the thermostat housing is the by-pass you asked about Richard. You can see it in the 1935 Chrysler picture in Rusty's link to allpar. The elbow has its own little gasket that goes between it and the water pump housing. Didn't know you needed a heater in your location!! Terry in PA
