  1. I just recently replaced the leather on my 12 Oakland 40 cone clutch. It still had the original leather on it. Bob Knaak did the leather for me. He was very reasonable, quick and the clutch has never worked better. Ken
  2. Ian asked to see some pictures of my 34 Dodges so here are a few. I've had my convertible for 35 plus years! It's a model DT and it's body #6 according to the firewall tag. I believe the car sold new in Winnipeg. I drove the car for many years as a barn find car. That was long before it was the thing to do. About 15 years ago I took it off the road because the steering got a little too loose. Haven't really touched it since. BUT I'm retired now so I plan on getting at it this year. In fact I was over to the chrome shop today to see if the side windows were replateable. He tells me there's nothing that can't be fixed for the right amount of money... In this case about $600 for each window. The car is rust free and 100% complete. I'm looking forward to driving it once more. The r/s coupe is an original car that sold new in Vancouver. The dealer's tag is still on the firewall! It's had some chrome and a bit of paint over the years but still has good original upholstery. I bought this car in 2000 after chasing it for 20 years! I put in a 37 Chrysler o/d and that really helps keeping up with the traffic over here. Other than that modification it's bone stock. It sure grabs a lot of attention when I'm out with it. Some of the pictures of the conv. go away back when it was on the road. The shop pictures are fairly recent. Ken
  3. Ian Thanks for the "after" picture of your trunk rack. It looks great all restored. It really finishes off the rear of the car when you have side mounts. Too bad there wasn't a provision for the rack to be used in conjunction with the rear spare like the Fords do. Both my 34's are rear spare cars and I do like the looks of a luggage rack back there. I've been following the progress on your sedan for the last few years. You are doing a very impressive restoration. It is an inspiration for the rest of us. Ken
  4. Thanks for the info. I did wonder if the sedan and coupe had the same brackets. Now I know! Ken
  5. I was saving this to use on my 34 conv. but that's not going to happen now as I'm going to leave the rear mount spare on it. This rack is in great shape with minimal small dents. Surface rust only. The Dodge emblem and the chrome strips were gone when I acquired this rack. All the mounting hardware appears to be there. These don't show up very often! $400US. Shipping from Vancouver Canada. Ken brasstguy at gmail.com Lowered price $300. Let's talk!
  6. I have a pair of these fenders for sale. they are in fairly rough shape. The sidemount wells in both cases are solid. The support brackets underneath are there. Some sidemount hardware is there as shown in the pictures. $300 for the pair US$$. I'm near Vancouver Canada. I can only post 5 pictures so I'll try posting more below Ken brasstguy at gmail ,com New lower price. $200 for the pair. These must go. Lets talk Ken
  7. I've done a lot of work with the movies out here in Vancouver. The daily rate for a vintage car is $500. I always get hired as an extra to drive the car. That pays an hourly rate which goes into overtime after 8 hours. In January I took home $480 for the day as an extra plus the $500 for the car. I've always found the movie people to be very respectful of my car and they always asked permission if they needed to do any alterations. Even putting the windshield down. Here is my car on the set in January. I wish that was me sitting next to red.... Ken
  8. I have a 34 RS coupe that I enjoy very much. My car is an original. It has fabric seats not leather. I can't say I've ever seen leather on a coupe but they might have come that way. The 33 and 34's never came with O/D. They came with free wheeling. But the 37-38 Chrysler 6 cyl o/d trans can easily be adapted in and is a wonderful improvement. I put one in my car. I would check to see if the engine is the correct year for the car. Later engines look similar and bolt right in. The correct year of engine would matter to me if I was paying top dollar for the car. Looks like a really nice car. Here's my 34. Ken
  9. I have used an in line for years in my 34 Dodge. It worked fine for me. I replaced it when I finally found the correct factory one. Ken
  10. That's a very pretty restored cabriolet. My car started out life painted maroon with black fenders. That's the way I'll do it again. I can't quite figure out why some cars have chromed rad shells and others have painted ones. I know both came from the factory. I"m surprised to hear you have top parts. Are they reproduction parts or original items? I have found 34 parts very hard to find over the years. That's odd considering they sold a lot of cars and were a better car than the Ford or Chev. ( in my humble opinion....) Ken
  11. We won't be able to get to Jamestown this year as we're only down for 2 days. Next year I'll take an extra day and come up and see you. Thanks for the invite. Here's a picture of my roadster that I should be working on. Regards Ken
  12. Dave Thanks for sharing those videos. they were great! That hearse is sure a lot longer than my 34 conv. It must be the only one left. Looks to be in great shape. I see you are CA. Are you going to the Bakersfield swap meet in a couple of weeks? I'm flying in for the weekend. Mainly brass era parts but it's fun to see what shows up there. Ken
  13. Still for sale. Will consider all offers Ken
  14. There has been gas stabilizer in the tank but it would be prudent to flush the system before adding fresh gas. It's dry out here on the west coast!! Ken
  15. Woops! Seems like I left out the A in Model A. Oldtimers kicking in again....
  16. Dave It is a very pretty car. About the size of a Model and lots of fun to drive. It gets a ton of attention when it's out! $20500 Can$ would do it. Send me an email if you want to discuss it Ken brasstguy@gmail.com
  17. No I'm afraid not. Thanks for your interest Ken
  18. 1925 was the end of the line for Maxwell. Walter P Chrysler had decided to re-badge the car later in the year as a Chrysler. This is the only sport roadster left that we have ever found. I'm selling this car on behalf of my father. He has owned the car for more than 30 years and restored it 25 years ago. Since then it has seen limited use and has gone less than 1000 miles. The sport roadster came with the lovely disc wheels you see in the pictures. It also has a tan Harrtz cloth top and leather upholstery! Weed bumpers front and back. Clymer thru-the-windshield spot-light and era mirror. Notice the ashtray with the match box holder on the bottom. The original side curtins and tools are in the trunk. The tires are in as new condition. The radiator shell is correctly nickel plated. The upholstery and top are of exceptional quality and are still in mint condition. The paint is starting to show its age. It is driver quality and looks nice. We last ran the Maxwell 5 years ago. It needs a battery and I haven't tried to start it now. It was running well then. This is a fun car to drive and gets lots of attention everywhere it goes. It is located in Vancouver Canada. I"m able to help with the shipping arrangements anywhere it needs to go. $19500 US Thanks for having a look Ken brasstguy@gmail.com
  19. 1922 Vauxhall 23-60 OD touring. 4 litre overhead valve engine. 4 speed transmission, beautiful original knock off wire wheels. Excellent upholstery, top, and full side curtains. The body is fabric covered, Weyman style, and is in very good condition. Built in running board tool box with all tools. Beautiful dash with all original instruments. This car was restored and toured extensively in Australia in the 60's, 70's and 80's. In 1996 it came to Vancouver Canada and has not run since then. The engine did suffer a freezing crack on the water jacket in 1996. This has been professionally stitched however water has not been put back into the engine. This is a very rare, powerful car produced when Vauxhall was competing with Bentley on quality and style. Has BC title and Vintage plates. $28500US Ken brasstguy@gmail.com
