Ace Hardware has water valve packing made of graphite embeded material. About 1/16" thick. It did the job on my DA-6 water pump..

Great job. I used white oak on my 29 DB truck. My fit of wood decking not as tight as yours. I did not have any patterns to work from.

I had a poor spark at my spark plug also on my DA-6 but I was able to get a better spark and my truck running. I found a lot of corrosion inside the distributor cap and coil where the wires are inserted. I used a demmel tool to clean the inside. I was able to check spark by grounding my spark plug and observing the spark in a darkened area. Spark should be white//blue for a strong spark.

Not sure of what Dodges were like my truck. I've seen cars with both on steering wheel. I quess you say it is what it is. The attached photo is from my truck instruction manual.

I have an 29 DA-6 in my series "E" truck. It has the spark and throttle levers on the steering wheel. I noticed in a previous thread the drawing for a DA-6, but it only has a throttle lever. At some time spark lever was removed by Dodge Bros. I have these questions: 1) Is there a similar drawing for my DA-6? If not could someone post a picture of the correct configuration? 2) Are the levers configured the same for the DA-6 and the Victory 6? 3) When was the spark lever removed from the steering wheel? The pictures I have do not show the onfiguration clearly.

What is the number stamped on the backside? I do not know it these are are availiable from Myers or other suppliers. I was able to rebuild mine for my 29 DB truck. It was quite a project since I had to fabercate the Bakealite parts myself. I used red fiber material I obtained from Restoration Supply in Escondino CA since bakealite was not availiable. Mine is similair but not as many terminals.

Thanks for information.

I believe that they may chip from road rocks being picked up. The original baked enamel fenders may have been more durable.

I was able to find an original NE COIL in my bone pile and I got engine to run. Spark appears to be white/yellow. It seems to work but will attempt to replace it. Thanks for your input.

Sorry but what is mean by NR. Could be non-resistor . I believe my replacement coil is for a ford. I saw a thread for a 28 chev and it stated either O Reily part BWD E5 or Napa part IC7 would work. It did mention these were non resistor type coils. Are either correct? If not, got any other information what worked for you. Thanks for input,

this is a truck and the coil in mounted on the firewall. Coil is different than a passenger car.

I m looking for a replacement coil for my DA 6 engine. It has the positive ground system. Not sure it makes a difference what the ground is. I saw a thread for a 28 chev and it stated either O Reily part BWD E5 or Napa part IC7 would work. It did mention these were non resistor type coils. Are either correct? If not, got any other information what worked for you. I have a ford coil and it is getting very hot at times.
-
I was told this is a 6v coil. If were a 12v coil instead would that be the cause of the hot coil?
-
I have got my Dodge Bros DA-6 running and I have noticed the coil being very hot. Not sure the cause. Is there a short in the coil? The coil is new and the engine does run. Got any ideas?

Does the performance of the coil effected by - or + ground? I purchased a Ford 6v coil for my + ground Dodge.

At that price it is a good candidate for a rat rod. Wish I had the room so I could save this one. -
I noticed you list a 31 Graham in your vehicle listing. Is that a truck or a car? I am always looking for fellow truck restorers. I own a Dodge Bros as shown on my profile
