  1. I believe that Graham Bros stopped building trucks in 1930 when Dodge Bros took over. I have been wrong before when trying to figure out the history of these trucks. Are there some identifying badging or name plates identifying it as a Graham? Got any photos?
  2. These old pot metal carbs were not very durable. My Stromberg U2 came on my DB "E" series truck with the DA 6. The bowl is cracked. The replacement carb came of a DA 6 Victory Sedan and is in good condition. The replacement carb is similar to the carbs available at a Model A parts supply. Have not checked yet but maybe Napa may even have them.
  3. If you are not a member of the DB Club you should join. See http://www.dodgebrothersclub.org/phpbbforum/viewforum.php?f=3&sid=d47ad190acd2d1b4737cffc240030552 The attached table was posted there. note: "J" code standard, "M" code Victory, "H" code DA and "IS" code Senior. .
  4. I am finding these Dodges very interesting. I always thought all cars with 6 engines had hydraulic brakes, but your car proves different. What carb do you have and where is the motor number located?
  5. Thanks for photos. This is defiantly a Victory 6. The engine code prefix should be "M" for a Victory 6. The numbers shown on the head are not the engine number. There are casing number and casing date for the head only. The engine number is on the side of the engine just above the valve cover plate. I have seen the engine number above the water pump also. Interesting to see the carburetor. It is the same as my DA 6. I am curious what carb was used on the Standard 6.
  6. Great looking car. Do you have an engine #. It should be on the registration or title. Curious if this is the Victory 6 or DA 6. I recently acquired a DA 6 that was in a Victory Sedan. The most noticeable difference in these engine is the location of the generator. The Victory has it on the passenger side or left side . Got any pictures of the engine you could post?
  7. I have a sales booklet for Dodge Bros trucks. It is dated Jan 1929. It does show the Victory 6 engine only. I have two DB series "E" trucks. Both have the DA 6 engine. So it appears earlier DB trucks had the Victory 6 engine. They had plenty of the Victory engines available until they phased the later DA 6 trucks.
  8. Note the Victory 6 in the post by countrytraveler for the 28 DB in this web site. See http://forums.aaca.org/showthread.php?t=378390&p=1370748#post1370748. Note generator on the passenger side. This is a Victory 6 engine. The DA 6 had the generator on the drivers side.
  9. The vin # or the frame number for the GB trucks is in the sequence for the DB trucks. I have doing research on the frame numbers and have noticed the frame #'s of the GB trucks to be in the sequence shown in manuals. Not aware of any other vin #'s for these trucks. Just different motor #'s. What badge do you mean? Assuming you mean the radiator badge. I believe the GB badge would be stopped in 1928 or about went the ownership changed to DB. These trucks would identical except for badges and hub covers.
  10. What is the wheelbase? Looks to be 130". The 3/4 ton is 120". This is a 1 ton truck not 3/4 ton as you listed. Also a clue is the drive shaft is made up off 2 sections. My 3/4 ton has a single driveshaft. Did you ever get a frame # or engine #? You will need this to get a registration. If you do not have a title you may have to remove some of the frame powder coat to find it. Has the engine been started yet? Is it a DA 6 or a Victory 6? The DA engine will have a "H" prefix in the engine code. The number is located in front of engine just above the valve cover plate.
  11. Alfourfire Thanks for information. My float will have to be replaced because it has cracks around the entire circumference. Does your tank have a model number. You were able to fix your tank. Are there replacements available
  12. I saw this on e-bay. This is 1928 GB or DB "E" series 1 ton.
  13. This tank assembly is quite simple. I believe I have all pieces: inner tank, float, and cover. The float is beyond repair. Cover has a vacuum shutoff valve that stops the vacuum went the float raises and tank is full. i will need a new float and Still looking for instructions for the model 93C vacuum tank. .
  14. Still have questions. Will send more pictures of my vacuum tank.
  15. I have watched a lot of these auctions. Whether Barett Jackson or Mercum. Sometimes the bidding goes ballistic. I wonder if the bidders sometimes consider the auction as a competition. There a lot of a lot bidders with deep pockets. Much$$$$$$. It seems that on Saturday the prices paid are excessive. While on Sunday, after the big money bidders leave, the prices paid are quite realistic. The money paid could be real. Some really wanted that truck. Was there frame number given for the 28 DB truck? I could not find any information for the truck on Barett Jackson web site. Just curious if someone has this information.
  16. I have found that the so called model year does not necessary have to agree with the build date and sold date. Would my truck be a 28 or 29? It is registered as a 31 in California. The only thing that is clear is the stamped chassis number and that would determine the series code whether D or E. The one shown by country traveler is a "D" series. See attached model summary. It is not an E series truck. It does have the same chassis as my 3/4 ton E series and not the commercial car chassis of lighter trucks. It defiantly is not an E series truck? A defining feature is the belt line. Note that the raised belt line does not continue over the cowling to the radiator as does the green truck I posted earlier.
  17. Make any purchases? These are very nice looking trucks and quite expensive. Where was the auction? thanks for photos.
  18. Here is my build card for my Series E truck. It is registered as a 1931. I guess this is based on date sold and not on date built. I did find the truck was sold at French Motors in San Francisco Ca.
  19. Found this on e bay. Very unique truck being a 1945. Looks like a solid truck. Looks to good to chop up. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dodge-Other-Pickups-Pick-Up-1945-dodge-truck-1939-1941-1942-1943-barn-find-patina-rare-ratrod-hotrod-/221593826986?forcerrptr=true&hash=item33980576aa&item=221593826986&pt=US_Cars_Trucks
  20. Posted new thread in "Technical" section on "Clum Lite Switch"
  21. Looking for information on the Clum switch model 889. The number is stamped on the housing as shown in the attached photo. The application is from a 1929 Dodge Bros 3/4 ton truck with the DA engine. I have found a parts truck with the same switch. I have seen these as square shape also. Note there are only 4 terminals. I do not have parking lights.
  22. This is my Clum switch model number 889. Only has 4 terminals. Is there a model 8891?
  23. Thanks for checking. The journey and adventure continue.
  24. Check my previous thread: http://forums.aaca.org/f143/28-truck-wire-diagram-292989.html this the Clum for my 29 DB truck. Model 889. Has similar terminals but a different mounting. Is there a reference to this in the Data book? Dave will send a e mail to you.
