  2. All here, have; given excellent advice. I would, like to add something regarding; what has been mentioned about, lean fuel. Ntx5467 made a good point about the fuel mixture. Lean fuel can cause overheating. It is usually from a clogged line or, filter. And, not the mixture setting in the carb. Mine overheated once due to; lean fuel. A clogged fuel filter was the culprit. However, the overheating was only in the heads. The coolant in the radiator was normal temperature.
  3. Over the years; I've used it on several long stored cars. Poured some down the open throttle. Squirt some into each spark plug hole. let sit several days. worked every time.. I had it to the oil shortly before each oil change. And to the fuel at each fillup.
  4. :rolleyes:Marvel Mystery oil has a better smell.
  5. I know: off hand; 6.5" K-H wire wheels were for '53 Skylark, only. Also, the 6.5" K-H do not have a pilot stud hole. As i write; I'm reaching for my master parts books........... The Kelsey-Hayes wire wheel is in; Group#5.008 However, that group does not appear in neither of my books; the 1936-1958 book, nor, the 1940-1966 book. Edited Sept 1 2012.What I have written here is not correct. See Al Mack's post #22 for the correct information

  14. When running correctly; that engine will idle "a little rough". A real torque monster!
  15. Well, good luck. Keep us posted. You're getting a lot of good advice, (better than I can offer), I can add, however; Mine runs very well with the original type carburetor and choke. But, not before; it is well warmed up. I would; exhaust every effort, on the original type carburetor, and choke. A different type Carburetor (IMHO) would, introduce; more gremlins to chase away.
