  1. anybody recognize the hood? Not Graham, we think the engine is Studebaker This is a Graham hood, notice the squared off raise around the vents? and 4 louvers, the blue car has 5 and rounded corners...no chrome tabs on the Graham On the hood alignment the hood dose not look latched but the cowl top line dose not match the hood correctly...
  2. What bothers me the most on the car other than it is a standard Graham roadster body is the double belt line on the door, only the small sixes had this detail all the eight only had one body line. 1930 GP Roadster Small six (GP body) 1930 GR roadster Eight cylinder car 827 (Briggs Body) Notice the door body lines, the blue roadster is an eight....

  4. Came across this body tag on a Graham... I would think it would have a number if it were real... doesn't look like any others I have seen.
  5. I have not been able to find any hard evidence only word of mouth stories, but good sources... Car was bought by Ernie in 1957 for $300 from an estate sale in Winona MN. Winona has a great archive of local newspapers at the Winona Library, with perseverance you could most likely find the auction bill. The hood ornament was broken off when Ernie got the Hupp, he made a new one by hand. He chrome plated the hub caps and the new hood ornament. Ernie drove the Hupp around Rushford in the 1960s but it has not been out in years. Wish I had more
  6. Ernie (second owner) was all engine and driveline, sure he never touched the interior or paint. My guess is he had it running like a top at one time. I would not be surprised if he put oil down the spark plugs when he parked it. With some luck he drained the gas. I am positive it will be easy to get running again. He had a few friends that will still remember the story. Ernie Tuff, fastest man in the world You can see the Hupp in the background of the shop https://educate.winona.edu/winona360/blog/tag/ernie-tuff/
  7. Pretty sure Ernie had all the information including the sale bill, most likely in a dumpster now, hope some stuff was in the car. It was tucked in a dark corner of his shop only ever saw the grill sticking out...thought it was a sedan....
  8. The warehouse is another story, the parts ended up in Georga, selling under American Vintage if I remember correctly, not sure how much is remaining. I will do some hunting for you, Ernie Tuff held the speed record at Daytona for years you should be able to find information on the web
  9. All I know is from an estate in Winona MN long time ago. If you are the new owner I can make some inquires.
  10. Always ask for pictures, with Graham parts sometimes the owners do not know what they have. I had a guy on the internet trying to sell me a bumper, price was good but impossible part to find, so I let my guard down a little. Asked for pictures...he sent me pictures of my friends Graham in Australia. Needless to say that was a red flag.
  11. The car was not the subject of the picture...I would have been driving that north
  12. Needs a good home, was running a few years ago, not my car, an old friend that passed. Model F-222 Body 33 2 door Victoria 2,513 actual miles All Original from an estate in Winona MN about 50 years ago, most likely original paint https://www.remlingerauctions.com/lot/1932-huppmobile/
  13. 1922-5 Series 33? has the correct number of fellows, correct number of retaining clamps and correct number of bolts around the hub (6).
  14. Sorry about the wait... still has me guessing, 36 inch rims, lots of rim locks must have been a big car? Looks like it was converted to a wagon when my friend found it.
  15. I will get pictures, my friend passed, he has a huge collection of car parts, and a great eye. Family is only mildly interested in the parts, his 1904 Cadillac is up for auction soon... https://www.remlingerauctions.com/lot/1904-cadillac/ He was an excellent mechanic, held the speed record at Daytona for 30 years...so if it made it better he did it, he was not a historian or a body man.
  16. Here are two 1921s with primer pumps on the dash, some just used a normal bike pump...I think my friends did, 1921 Buick?
  17. Sorry about the picture my son took it... Looks like at least 20 inch wheels heavy duty axles, guessing fire truck? Hoping someone can tell from the hub cap? I will try to get more pictures both front and rear axles are red.
  18. Pretty sure Graham crossed that bridge in 1938... again nicer looking car my book... and Supercharged... Hood ornament look familiar? from the movie Cars
  19. 1937 Talbot Logo Interesting cars but not the prettiest in my book Never hold a candle to this in my book Or this
  20. You might be interested in looking up a MacBeth Booths. https://www.xrite.com/blog/gretag-macbeth-light-booths A light booth can simulate many different types of light, including: Blue sky daylight (D50, D65) Horizon (SpectraLight exclusive) Fluorescent (TL83/TL84/U30/U35) CWF CIE A Incandescent (a typical light bulb) UV Ultraviolet (for detecting optical brightening and fluorescent whitening agents) LED Just when I thought I knew something about light and how it effects color...guess what, we all see color differently. I worked for an automotive company and only people with "certified eyes" could make quality decisions on color. Turns out only about 10% of the population can see full spectrum. I was certified. Hear is a link to a free, color hue test https://www.xrite.com/hue-test I have an unrestored 1929 Graham-Paige, yes "Graham-Paige blue", original lacquer paint, not even close to the Acme color chips I own. The Acme color chips in my experience, are always darker than the original car color. At least for Graham cars. My guess is reaction between the paper and the paint, paper normally has acid in it, why it yellows... I agree the paint chips are helpful... but please take the time to inspect your car for original paint. I hand sanded the inside of my 1933 dual side mount wheels looking for original paint, I found the original paint, polished it back to like new, and was able to match the color. Under emblems is another great place to find original paint.
  21. U joints are easy to swap out and cheap, when were they greased last? Take it for a little ride just a few miles, if it is a u joint, it will be hot when you get home. Is this what your drive shaft looks like? Looks like a carrier bearing and 5? U joints? Interesting center joint, looks like they sell replacement driveshafts also.
  22. Graham had optional overdrive in 1940, Supercharged Hollywood was 217.8 CID, 124HP We have two GOCI members who drive their bone stock overdrive Hollywood's all over the county, one boasts over 35K miles in the last few years.
