i really think that Super could be haggled down to your range.

Good rule of thumb to anything related to classic cars- High qualty, done quickly, affordable. You can only can only pick two. You are seeking a nearly perfect car for under half it's value. So that's a pretty tall order. That 56 looks very nice.

1955 Super Convertible - seeking information
1mortician replied to 50jetback's topic in Buick - General
Wow! Gorgeous car! -
I am 33 and it was my singular goal to pick up a 1955 Buick for 25 years, I worked very hard to achieve that dream. Now I am on to the next dream, a 1940 Buick Limited. I for one am pleased that through the natural process of supply and demand, prices are seeming to right themselves for full classics, and are becoming more attainable. Every hobby has a cycle.

doubtful, but originals shouldn't be hard to track down at all.

1955 Buick Interior Selections (the book is NOT for sale)
1mortician replied to bhambulldog's topic in Buick - Post War
James, Thank you for providing this information! I really appreciate it. I hopefully will get my interior redone this winter in the correct patterns, my seat inserts are flat where it should have the cool square pattern. Has anyone ordered this fabric/vinyl from SMS? Thanks! -

This may be my favorite story on AACA! Love watching it unfold.

I am considering trading my 1955 Buick Roadmaster 76R on something else. 1955 and older. Perhaps a trade up or down, with cash going out or coming in. Im thinking Buick or Cadillac Convertible. Thanks! Eric Bell

Dale, I am sorry I didnt get a chance to meet you.

LEt me know if you run across another Roadmaster in this shape, the stone guards are really hard to come by, and I know lots of people who need them.
-
I was pretty irritated when I had to drive through rain Saturday morning on my way up, but stopping to dry off revealed a pretty moment.
-
are these at a salvage lot? Can you get info where I can get some parts off that Roadmaster? Thanks!

I really don't think I understood when I parked my Display car initially in the "driven field," It was a field past the trees that most people didn't realize was there. Had there been no iron fence that would have been an ideal driven/display field. This was my first meet, and when I understood people were moving their cars over, I did as well. I was really bummed about the lack of vendors or swap meet participants, I get that people leave early, but I also get that most people aren't coming for three days. I have no idea how to run a car show, nor the complications involved there-in, so I just had a good time.

I for one had a wonderful time driving up and meeting so many wonderful people. Looking forward to future meets. So many fantastic cars.

Oil Pressure should drop when the engine is not revving, but shouldn't drop to zero. First thing I would verify is that this is a good gauge?
-
Yep, just a low battery.
-
Well, after getting my rough idle situation worked out, and changing the carb, I notice my ammeter is pegged on full charge while driving the car. When I come to a stop or signal, it does come down. Any cause for concern? or is it just recharging the battery. I just want to make sure there are no issues having changed the carb which means hooking it up to a new starting switch.

So lame when its something simple you have over looked. Fouled plug!

I should also say, I have had no problems with this, except it usually chugs like this only when I would back up.
