  1. Merry Christmas to you too Roger. I think, I'll go to Switzerland, buy a comfortable chair and spend my days watching you work. Do you think it would bother you having me look over your shoulder?
  2. Now why didn't I think of those foam plugs? I ended up buying those vinyl ones from Eastwood which worked fine but cost some money. And sometimes the exact diameter one isn't available. Good thinking Martin.
  3. And the pressure builds. Don't you hate deadlines, even if they are for a noble cause?
  4. Do you have a spare side indicator light for the right front and does it fit the LTD?
  5. Nice move. Looks like that bunch knew what they were doing. Now you can walk straight from your bed to the shop, no wasted time.
  6. Nice story jrhoa2, Now you know what you have to do. You'll find the Ford somewhat easier to restore. It also has more available parts. The thought of finishing Mr.L's project will provide motivation and purpose. We'll all be following here.
  7. That dented area reminds me of the tail pans on '35 Chevys which are always banged up. I'm sure you'll ping and ding that back to mirror smooth. Keep at 'er. Wonderful job.
  8. Several years ago in Cornwall, ON at the all Chrysler show there was a '63 Plymouth like this done up as a drag car sitting on a trailer pulled by a '63 Plymouth wagon. Both had Max Wedges in them. Very, very nice display. I'll look to see if I have photos.
  9. Edhd58, Yes it is a big joy getting the motor back in. Wait 'till you hear it run!!!!
  10. John, she's looking good. Everytime I see it, I'm reminded of the time I was shopping for a GT Hawk. One of the Hawks I looked at shared a garage with a Buick that looked a lot like yours. And if I'm not mistaken, it was a '23 as well. I'll look to see if I have a picture.
  11. Dwight, were you the one who made the Jerrari script on Bill Harrah's Ferrari powered Jeep Wagoneer?
  12. Wow! Thanks for sharing John. We'd never see that many Jags here. The Mark 5,7,8 & 9 were seriously classy if somewhat outdated cars. That looks like Ontario Canada on the Mark 5's sheet. Is that what it is? A Jag has been on my bucket list but as I get nearer the 25th year of my forties, I don't think it will happen.
  13. When I did mine, I added stuff like the front & side covers, water pump, Pan, anything engine color. Then I masked all the holes (distributor, fuel pump, manifolds. etc.) then I shot it with the engine color. See posting #241, page 11 in this thread.; http://forums.aaca.org/f190/reconstruction-34-chevy-master-coupe-297983-10.html
  14. Just for fun, they were making frames for GM as early as 1934. Here are the numbers that were on mine.
  15. So now all you have left to do is drive, drive, drive to all corners of the UK and Europe. Very nice job. And it should be rather noticeable in England.
  16. Today, four of us drove about 75 miles to a nearby town to attend a small gathering. Parked next to my Mustang was a rather rare beast. A 1937 Desoto convertible sedan. I'm told there are less than 10 left. I thought it would look right at home in Mr.Keiser's garage.
  17. Martin, that is similar to the "Magnaflux" process where they used metal filings that gathered around cracks. The dye just goes into the cracks and they stand out under black light. The company I used to work for used that process on turbine parts. If they build racing engines, they'll likely balance yours. Amazing smoothness results.
  18. No it's right. Butternut. Buttercup would be closer to lemon yellow.
  19. I like that yellow, I think it was called "buttercup yellow". Are you going to keep the white roof?
  20. I second what Joe says. Two of the best sources of info, the Book and specialists. Also visit the Chrysler forums below and look up the main suppliers. Each make has some.
  21. Gosh darn!I've never had so many compliments about anything in my entire life. They are much appreciated. My goal now is get it to run flawlessly and to be dead reliable. Then I'll really be able to enjoy it. Right now there is always a little stress when I take it out. Happy 4th of July to my American friends.
