  1. What do these go to??? They are 15" O/D stainless.
  2. Any ideas about this AC fuel pump... no other markings ??
  3. Lincoln V-12 but I don't know what year... I think 40's era Continental. $20.00 + shipping from Suffolk, VA 23433. 757-238-2984 Tom
  4. Here's a picture of my Model T in the front "yard" from Governors' I. looking toward NYC Sep 1973. I think I have figured out how to reduce these pictures for posting. So go back and take another look at my last post. TTA
  5. I just digitized an old slide I took Sep 1974 in Tottenville (Staten I. NY) of 1926-29 Mack trucks being scrapped when the price of scrap had reached $700./ton. these were barged in from Brooklyn. The trucking company had purchased them from the city in 1965, and they were still in limited service until 1971.
  6. Did we lose a forum, or did I lose my marbles? I have some tail lights to ID, were do we do that now? I'll post a picture... think they are about '48 Plymouth, but not sure.
  7. Well, I finally ordered the 2010 copy and it's 743 pages, comes with a condition-rating video disc (unfortunately MPEG format that my Windows & Quicktime won't play), has separate listings for foreign makes and for trucks, and most of the US makes go back to the beginnings (ie Dodge to 1914, Cadillac to 1903, Buick to 1904). It looks to me like the pre-war cars are undervalued, and the post war cars are closer to reality; but that may just be a personal thing. A lot of pre-war makes are missing. tta
  8. You might consider shopping nationally for a radiator shop to do the boil out and internal lining (epoxy). I had mine done in Portsmouth VA for $300. and it was worth it. I don't know what shipping would be on a tank, but you might check with UPS etc. tta
  9. Send this to J.C. Taylor to provide for a wealth of nightmares.
  10. If you decide to take additioinal photos, it might also help to but a yardstick or tape measure over the rim showing the outer rim measurement. tta
  11. I wish I had taken pictures. In 1975 Humboldt County Sheriff's Dept. hired CRUSHER CO from Oregon to come in, tow away tagged abandoned vehicles, put them in an impound yard, and subsequently crush them. You could "buy" any car in the impound, and take off all the parts you wanted, but you could not have the whole car. I "bought a 1948 Dodge and a 1947 Chrysler (I was working on my derelict '48 Chrysler), and took away two pickup loads of parts for $20. The Motorola radio that I pulled out of the Chrysler turned out to be gutted, and was full of illegal drugs. (I destroyed them)... but the dumbest thing was not "buying" a mid-twenties Hudson that was there. I think I should have taken every part except one thing with a serial number on it... you think of these things years later.
  12. This is second-hand info, but I'm told it can work: pull it to an open area where there is a little room and where there is decent traction, put it in high gear, with another vehicle or several hefty friends, push it or rock it back & forth. I had a Ford A chassis like this, but it was so light, the wheels just skidded. However, I was told it often works. Oh, and you can put a box wrench on the crank pulley nut or otherwise stiffen up or put a stop on the engine turning over.
  13. Took Flat Stanley there on a special outing.
  14. On dark days I sometimes have trouble finding my cars in the barn. By the way, if a car is out behind the barn, would it then qualify as a barnyard find. Think I'll check on copywriting that.
  15. Thank you all; in re Edmunds, I couldn't find a way to get a pre-1990 valuation. Also, I'm looking for a phone # for Old Car Price Guide.
  16. I have several Old Car Value Guides (Quentin Craft) beginning with the 1969 edition, and Old Cars Price Guides up to 1990. Question: does anyone know of a current price guide that has realistic values? I'm finding that NADA is not specific re. condition codes, and seem very optimistic on it's valuations. Nothing else on line was comprehensive. Thanks, Tom
  17. I'm wondering what is a good average range of oil pressure for the 1931 Chrysler 6??
  18. I don't have a manual that would tell me what the average oil pressure ranges are for a 1931 Chrysler CM6. Anyone out there have an idea?? TTA
  19. I want to put this up for sale... but don't think it will bring much of anything if it isn't ID'd. tta
  20. And, thanks, so far... can anyone tell if these are for standard or undersized components??
  21. Could you please provide: zip code where the car is located, interior pics, engine compartment pics, how it runs & stops, or email address. thanks, Tom 757-576-9360
  22. I can't find any additional markings or numbers anywhere on the pump. TTA
