  1. Thanks, So far the closest is the 1/4 x 1/8 MIP hex nipple, but the 1/4 side is MIP vs pipe or whatever the flare fittings for carbs are.
  2. I want to add a fuel sediment bowl to my system, and locate it at the carburetor. I have gone through my 200+ fittings, and can't find one that has the small 3/8" OD (approx 1/4" ID)fine thread compatible with the sediment bowl and the approx 1/2" OD (1/4" ID) larger end compatible with the coarser thread compatible with the carburetor. The closest I have has same size on the large end as the tubing fitting, but finer threads (see picture). Is there such a beast as the fitting with small end fine thread for the bowl end, and large end coarse thread for the carb??? TTA
  3. Is that a deer sitting out front in picture 3, or a cross between a dog and a jackrabbit? Where is this located? TTA
  4. Thank you... and for that Ebayer ID? Is this gear a press-fit removable with a regular gear puller? Thanks, Tom

    cant fire up my 39

You could try a temporary fuel supply to the pump using a small container of gas and a suction line (just a piece of fuel hose). If it doesn't get fuel then, you might check the fuel pump diaphragm. If it does get fuel with a temp. tank, then the fuel lines are suspect, or the uptake screen in the tank. Also, your fuel line fittings must be tight, or it will be pumping air.
  6. Does the gear located on the front of the main shaft look bad? Or should it have the sloped/beveled appearance this one has...??? And what's going on with the pictures... this seems to come up wrong every try???
  7. This is a big fuel pump with lots of bells & whistles, but I have no idea what it goes to. It has "Bendix Products Division Bendix Aviation Corp" on the side of the vac chamber. It was one of many items in my "early 40's to early 50's" pile.???
  8. Add to the list of "magic potions" Belzona... the closest thing to a real weld... look for the high heat material. Pre-heating the completely disassembled block, micro-drilli ng the cracks if they end in solid matrix, and welding can fix this, but it's not a 1914 Isotta... probably cheaper to look around for another block or engine if the epoxy compounds don't work. I had a cracked VW block that lasted about two years with epoxy fix. But with a boat, you don't want it to fail somewhere where Towboat US charges as much as the new engine. Good luck, Tom
  9. The last thing I called one of mine was a @#$%^&*( when the wrench slipped, followed by the gas tank falling on my face. TTA

  16. This is one from the old album, my Mom says this was the first car in Riverside R.I.. The picture is of my great grandfather William A. Williams & family in foster R.I. c.1913 with the Buick. Can anyone, from this nominal photo, tell what is the year of the Buick? TTA
