  1. I thought I was buying 11" (OD) hubcaps for my '48 Chrysler Royal, but when I went to put them on the wheel, the inside dia. was too big; 7 7/8" vs 7 1/4". Are these larger ones for an 8 cyl. or another year? So far no responses from the Chrysler forum.
  2. The fancy copper fuel lines are return lines for an auxilliary electric pump that I use to charge the vacuum tank (instead of removing the plug and pouring in gas). The return system (loop) keeps the pressure in check. As soon as it's full, I turn off the pump and open the air vent on the vac. tank. TTA
  3. The horn looks more like a '32 ('31 has a pancake horn), but the headlight bar looks like a '31??? Maybe a '31 with the newer horn. I can't see the fenders very well, but they look more '32 with the "widow's peaks" on the front edge. Did any '32's have a single headlight cross-bar? Tom
  4. If you have a Marvel carb or parts for the 6 cyl Buick, and any carb gaskets, I'm still looking. Thanks, Tom
  5. I'm having issues with my '23 Buick including no power. It starts and runs, but has no power. I have cleaned out the gas tank (and had it lined), put in a new aux. electric fuel pump, filled the vac. tank with gas, and had it run for a half hour with no aux fuel pump, and no problems at idle or even fast idle. As soon as I try to get it going up the driveway, particularly when it is warmed up, it can't get up the hill. When I step on the gas, it quits. I don't want to get into the carb. until I'm sure I can at least find gaskets. Any suggestions on who has gaskets or kits would be greatly appreciated. By the time this is done, I should write a book about how not to store you vintage car, and what the new ethanol mix can mess up in the fuel system. Tom
  6. Does anyone know of a source of diaphragm material that is immune to the new ethanol-gas mixes. My AC 6VEP11 diaphragm turned to jelley. Airteck tech. support has no such material to do a restoration. I anticipate a similar problem will occur with my '48 Chrysler pump. Tom
  7. Thanks, I have been driving around with mine open... so something's plugged.
  8. Mark, does your have a spring-loaded "L" shaped reach rod? Do you push down and turn, just push down, or just turn this thing? The reach rod end on mine has always been facing away from the block. Should it be turned a half turn and facing toward the block to be open/drain? Thanks, Tom
  9. It's been several years since I changed the oil in my 1923 Buick Ser. 45, and I can't figure out how to work the oil drain. I turn the "L" shaped reach rod, and nothing drains. I push it down and turn (it's spring loaded") and still no luck. If it is just turned to the left, it spins with no action. The manual doesn't say how to open the oil drain. It also has it located on the right side of the engine, and mine is on the left side next to the dipstick? Anyone have a '22 or '23 Buick six that has an idea? Tom
  10. My thought, 1906 Mitchell due to length of hood, obvious radiator shape (like Maxwell and many others 1904-10) radiator emblem, headlights, and just about everything except the firewall, which is straight up/down. Mitchel had some curvature?? Could it be it was modified? Those with straight up/down firewall and that shape radiator were: Thomas ( but has flared fenders)& White G-A 1910 ( but had different lights and curved front fenders)... this is a tough one. Tom Allan
  11. OK, I'm not sure who is answering to whom at this point but thanks to all. I thought it could be a 1924-25 Buick, but no crank hole... it is marked "Harrison Cooled" on the left upper of the back side, and on the right "Harrison & patents etc. and 205A 1925". I had hoped it might match up to my 1923 Buick when I got it at Hershey, with no reference at the time, but it doesn't. The inlet is curved down, most early 20's Buicks it comes straight out. Tom
  12. Here are a couple of pictures that may help... I don't have the pieces, so I don't know the measurements yet. Tom
  13. One is large and complicated on the underside, the other smaller and has a screw-down pressure release on the top. Any ideas what these go to???
  14. Any ideas on these lights as to what they would go to??? The Guide in one picture is the subject of another posting. The larger one is marked "Rayo driving lamp" on the kero can. Thanks,
  15. A better picture of the headlamp, and another for contemplation. The steel light with brass vent has three holes in the vent or whatever you call it. Thanks, Tom
  16. But the kikker is for a Royal 3-pass. business coupe. I have never found a parts car for this model. Should be the same for all the 6 cyl business coupes (ie Windsor), but I don't know the parts #. Also, please see my WTB glovebox marbled plastic door. Thanks, TTA
  17. Thanks for your input... I have been waiting for a while for a response. Tom
  18. Page 384 of January Hemmings has one in CA listed that sounds like a good deal... some of the transport companies are pretty hungry right now. Tom
  19. If this picture isn't enough, what do I need to look for to ID the radiator core?
