  1. Took the Electra to a show in Norwalk Ct. by the North East Auto Museum. A lovely location right by a Mansion and next to a Childrens Museum. It was a hot nice day with a good turnout. Drove the car 44 miles total. It was a pleasure to have A/C for the ride home. Only shut it once for 5 minutes when stuck in some traffic just to be safe.
  2. Went to the Long Island BCA show today. A few sprinkles in the early morning and then overcast and comfortable for the rest of the day. Took the '75 Electra and drove for a total of 165 miles roundtrip. We left a little early to try and avoid the traffic getting off Long Island to get home. Didn't matter too much as there always seems to be traffic on a Sunday afternoon. We had a great time and caravaned with different friends coming and going. I just called Marty Jablonski who I wanted to thank for the great show and see how the car did. The Electra took another First in class!
  3. Thanks Steve, Reservation made in Ft Wayne. Almost all hotels in Auburn already sold out and the same with Ft Wayne. Make your reservations early!
  4. I drove the '73 4 speed a little to blow out the cobwebs. Then onto the trailer for the Greenwich Concours American day Saturday. Had a great time and the quality and variety of the Muscle Car class was outstanding.
  5. John, It was great to see you Saturday. The wife and I drove up to give some support to the club event. I could not get my '73 FAST car out for the races because of this weekends Greenwich Concours in which I will be showing the '73 4 speed and not enough time in between to do both. It was also very nice to see Pete Phillips there also and have him take some pictures of the Black Boat. Sorry I did not take any pictures. (Brain Freeze) It was a 203 mile roundtrip for us in the Electra and it was a pleasant ride both ways to top it all off. Look forward to seeing you again soon.
  6. We took the Electra on a tour Sunday to the Vanderbilt Mansion in Hyde Park. We then went a few miles over to a park and had a nice picnic lunch in a Gazebo with a stone fireplace around 200 ft. from the Hudson River. Wet roads in the morning and then a few showers on the way home. We drove 179 miles roundtrip.
  7. We took the '75 Electra to a 2 hour show with the Lower Huson Valley BCA and a local Cadillac club to Green Chimney in Brewster NY. This is a school for the whole spectrum of developmentally challenged kids. The kids had a wonderful time touching, getting in the cars, blowing the horns occasionally. It was a wondeful feeling sharing our cars with them and it was a great group of kids. Some of us then went to a show in New Milford Ct. that started at 12 for a friend who suffers from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. This was a well attended event with 225 cars, a mobile dyno and an eclectic gathering of cars ranging from Tuner cars, to American vintage. I left that show with another Buick buddy about a half an hour from the end to get home early. On the ride home I recieved a phone call from another friend saying the Electra won Best of Show and he had my trophy. What a great and rewarding day in more ways then one.
  8. I got the '75 Electra out of its winter storage yesterday. The battery was DOA. Finally got it started and the lower fuel line was leaking. My son in law put a quick patch over the leak with some rubber hose and clamps. Got it started again, warmed it up and drove it home 15 miles or so. Glad she did not stall or I would have been stuck. As soon as I got home she was dead again. Son in law got a new hose and battery and good as new! We took it today to the Concours d' Caffiene in Westport Ct. with lunch after for a 78 mile roundtrip. Rainy and Cold in the morning. It did stop early and the day turned out sunny and a little warmer. I took the yellow SunCoupe to lunch Thursday it was gorgeous out. Glad the weather was nice as the drivers window fell off the track again!
  9. Trading places. I took the yellow 73 SunCoupe off of the lift in the garage and put the Harvest Gold 73 4 speed on it. (It will come out again the beginning of June for the Greenwich Concours.) I then drove the SunCoupe for 20 miles to blow the cob webs out. This Sunday I will take her to the Fairfield Concours D'Caffiene and a 60 mile tour and lunch. If the weather is good I will also take her to the Ct. Cafe Racers lunch in Westport Thursday.
  10. Thanks Brian. It was great seeing, talking and sitting with you at the meet. Congratulations on your Senior Award I believe. You picked up so many awards for people it was hard to keep up! ;-) Beautiful car! I posted pictures of the event on the AACA Meets and Tours forum in case anyone is interested. I am pretty sure I got all of the Buicks. We had a wonderful time and there certainly was a large number of great Buicks . Also a big thank you to the Hornets Nest Region for all they do.
  11. Mark, Thanks for the pictures. Sorry I missed you. You looked busy the few times I did see you. We had a good time at the event even with the rain. I plan on going again as it's always a fun time. I will make a new post of my photos.
  12. Heading out from the NYC area tomorrow morning. Hoping the weather is not too bad. I am bringing a clear plastic cover for the car just in case, and umbrellas for when I have to show the interior. White interiors and water do not mix well. It will be the first time in the rain since the restoration, if it rains!
  13. I posted a few pictures of this event in a current AACA post. After learning from Mark Shaw that many members do not use FB which is where I posted them, I have decided to share them here for the folks that have not seen them before . I hope you all like them. I would again like to Thank Mr. Bulgari for hosting this event at his wonderful facility, and for doing an amazing job saving American automotive history.
  14. Thank you. I did share my album of photos for this event on multiple Face Book sites at the time. If you think I should share them on a new post in the forum, (Buick or AACA?) I would be more than happy to do so.
  15. The Buick Club of America did indeed have their 50th Anniversary at the NB Center for American Automotive History. Mr. Bulgari should be thanked for his amazing collection of American automobiles. The man is literally saving a huge part of the American automotive experience. The facility is incredible as well as beautiful. I am looking forward to going back for the AACA AGNM in 2020. Here are a few pictures from the Buick event.
  16. It is a lazy Sunday watching racing on TV. I thought I would post my pictures from the event. ( I will take out some of the photos of my car as there a lot of them.) We had a great time. The AACA Decades section was wonderful and I spent a lot of time there admiring and learning about the eclectic selection of wonderful automobiles. Thanks to Steve Moskowitz and all involved in the club. Although I was not in the Decades class it was an honor to be invited to be in a class. Looking forward to the Charlotte Meet next month.
