  1. the slum lords of our hobby... Sorry but, LOL!
  2. Only 62 Days Till Christmas! Bump this thread time!! My 3 DVD set is Entertainment and Information especially designed for the Reatta Aficionado, (or any Buick/Reatta/Riviera enthusiast for that matter!) See http://theereatta.8thman.com for details or feel free to send me a PM. Yes, Virginia the Reatta Project DOES have the the Buick Know-How Reatta Convertible Maintenance video in its entirety.
  3. Yep you should hear a chime, if not somethings amiss.
  4. Its the same 22 min Buick Know-How video that is on my Reatta Project 2 DVD set. If you have my DVDs you have the exact same presentation (and a whole lot more I wont go into here).
  5. A little tire gel does wonders! Seriously, its a nice looking coupe but the price is a bit steep. Pass.
  6. What Month does Arbor Day fall on? A photo of a Polo Green convertible would fit nicely there....oh wait.
  7. The 89 had a front plate bracket on it when I bought the car, the owner had a vanity plate installed and she removed it. I wouldnt remove the bracket b/c it would probably leave some unsightly holes so I put a Reatta repro plate in the bracket, looks nice! No front plate law in KY or IN...Sweet! - Texas highway laws bite, State Inspection is a nightmare. I lived there most of my life and Johnny law harassed me plenty. good riddance, no hard feelings there Barn!
  8. Yes, its a 1991. The pedal still sinks pretty close to the floor to get the car to fully stop. The Buick Roadmaster wagon in comparison which got a brake job at the same garage is almost too touchy. The brakes are working excellent on it. The tech said the rotor were a little rusty but that should have wore off - I think something is amiss in the Reatta still.
  9. Got a nice portable battery booster w/air compressor at Sam's for $50. You have to add your own AC cord to charge it up. They also have a good looking floor jack in the $80 range - thats on my want list.
  10. Car has a pretty serious chunk of rust in the wheel well, you can be sure there is more you aint seeing.
  11. After spending over 300 smackers on this the brakes are still mushy feeling to me.
  12. All the rear brake lines were replaced.something about the retaining springs had coroded and that comprised the lines. The mechanic was pretty flabbergasted as they failed one after another everytime be would put in fluid and pressure test. Lol...except the bill isn't a laugh.
  13. I have mixed feelings about polo green as a car finish. I think it would look great on a speed boat...it is a beautiful green hue not a teal color which I really don't care for. But its not a color I care for on an automobile at all. We all have our personal tastes.
  14. Yeah, FORBIDDEN PLANET is one of my favorite movies - way ahead of its time like the ...Reatta, huh? My express apologies to whoever owns the Polo coupe I chopp-topped in order to visualize another one of my odd ideas. Sometimes Im just bad.
  15. We will rule the world!! Jus kidding but its pretty cool news. Rock on Reatta Owners!
  16. Yes its hanging down where its visible from the side. I noticed it the other day looking out at the car from a shop window. Easy to adjust ??

    CAR COVER

Then I have one Barney (Covercraft) cover already. I might could use another one this winter. How much are we talking about discount-wise when you say factory direct prices?
  18. Oh you might try Michigan!! Lot of garage queen cherry Reattas that have never seen snow because of all the Buick employees up there that keep them nice.
  19. Im reading this because having the same symptoms on my 91 coupe. Now for something completely similar....what about a cable (looks like parking brake?) hanging down really low to the ground on my 89 coupe?

    SCREW IT!

If its bad ABS sensors you cant get those at Amazon. But I think it could be caused by other things. Someone who knows more than me will post.
  21. We are not the only ones seeking the elusive Polo Green convertible... We are not alone. I looked at the pic of the convertible in a paint program. Its a one of the lower resolution pix of a Reatta that comes up on google. Even though its fairly big 800X493 its only 56K worth of information and compressed all to hell. The only greenish pixels in that picture are the reflection of some trees on the side of the freeway. The car is shined to a high polish and also reflecting the sky and clouds on the deck lid. The overall color of the pixels are black and gray where the finish isn't reflecting something...

    Buick Museum

He should have donated it - if the museum is in dire straits should they be procuring expensive items when they cant pay the bills? So just how much did Olds Transportation pay for this item?
  23. I am familar with polo green paint finishes. That color has a lot of flake in it and sparkles in the bright sunlight so the poor pic here is obviously not polo green. Claret red also appears to be black in certain lighting I searched dozens of pages of MSU related keywords and came up with nothing.
