  1. A couple of years ago in collaboration with some other members here I produced the Reatta Project DVD set. It is a three disc set and a lot of members here have purchased them and it got rave reviews. With Xmas just around the corner I thought I would bump the thread again in Buy and Sell. If you are interested check out that thread and see the webpage for details on what is on the DVDs. The Reatta Project DVDs are the only DVDs that have the Reatta Workshop that Barney recorded a few years ago. That alone is worth the ten bucks but there is much more on the other two discs - Solid, useful information that will help you maintain your car. The best Reatta convertible tutorial that Buick ever produced. A super DIY on repairing your ABS brakes and then loads and loads of "beauty" footage on the Buick dealers videos for the 88, 90 and 91. Plain jane discs are $10, Inkjet printed discs are $15 and the deluxe premium waterproof (the ink never runs even if moist or submerged) are $20 for those who want the best! If you drive a Reatta this is a worthwhile expenditure.
  2. Christmas is just around the corner! SO I thought I would bump this thread for the newer members or anyone that might be interested in a really nice present (to give yourself)
  3. Probably good soultions for concrete driveway, this is asphalt and the brake fluid has already pretty much soaked into the surface. I will try some soap on it when wash one of my cars. At least I wasnt flying down the hwy with no brakes!
  4. Hi Roger - (I sent you a PM yesterday) I think its weird it didnt start leaking until it was pushed off the driveway into the grass. Had the drive seal-coated so I would have noticed a leak before we moved it. There is plenty fluid in the grass too. Of course now my freshly coated drive has brake fluid on it. Ugh!
  5. So many frivolous "answers" - except the cat posts I suppose. Let's address this first.. where the mouse find entry into the reatta. Mice can squeeze into cracks much smaller than you would believe so there are no telling how many actual entry points in a Reatta. They certain look for warm place to nest in the winter and your car becomes quite attractive to the little beggars. So you are wise to try and .... stop their entry and get rid of the terrible smell Ok, so you dont have any cats - This is still pretty easy BUT there is a caveat Here is how to keep mice out of your car. Take a few mothballs and put them in four mesh bags or something similar and put one by each wheel. No mice will come around those mothballs, the caveat is Mothball Smell which isnt real pleasant. But this works. I have also heard Peppermint Oil is a varmint repellent but I haven't tried it myself...it certainly smells better and if you try that let us know how it goes!
  6. Surprise! Looked and there is a pool of fluid under the back drivers side tire with a trail leading back to the lawn. Guess I got a bad wheel cylinder or busted brake line back there, eh?
  7. No, not yet it was getting dark and I was getting hungry - I can do that in the morning.
  8. Boy this thread had me sitting on the edge of my seat! What a letdown at the end to find nobody here got it for the original asking price. Poisoned the well, Indeed! Oh WELL. LOL>
  9. I let my poor 1991 Reatta sit thru most of the summer b/c the a/c needed a charge - and maybe b/c I got a nice 1989 too. ; ) But during the course of time, about 4 months the battery weakened so it needed to be charged to get it to start. Well, I think I let it sit too long. Today, I charged the battery a couple of hours and it fired up OK (had Pushed it into the grass a couple of days ago when the driveway was getting seal-coated) When I put it in gear and started rolling backwards I put my foot on the brakes...and the brake pedal sunk straight to the floor, I pumped it but no good, had to shift quickly back into park to stop the car. The brake warning light is on in the dash - this is a Bosch system so if anyone has suggestions pls post Id hope not to have to tow it somewhere but its undrivable in the present condition!
  10. Thats a good tape, I used it on the 3 DVD set I produced a couple of years ago. : )
  11. Um what if you see a Reatta and what if its not a "nice" car? Most of the Reattas in this area that I see look run down and pretty sad. : (
  12. Ok thanks guys - will check those things out when its warmed up a bit. Snowing today....brrrrrr!
  13. Looks like I have some kind of intermittent power problem. First the car would sometimes die shortly after starting it. Engine died but all the interior power cut off as well, no instrument panel illumination. It would usually start right back up and go. Then after sitting a while maybe a week and half it didnt want to start, as in the battery was drained. Put on a charge and it started right up, ran okay but this weekend while out shopping it was difficult to start, made clicking sounds when turning ignition. After a few failed attempts it started - this is where it get interesting...before a got out of the parking lot it started to try to die again - not all of a sudden it just lost power and faltered. I went around the lot and the then the instrument panel started going off and on along with the heater, etc until it finally conked out and I lost power steering. Now attempting to start the car the dash did crazy stuff, flashing - I saw "error" for a second, the antenna started going up and down and the radio was OFF. Let it sit a minute - clicking noise again, slow and then faster, she starts. Without a lot of faith we would make it I drove it 25 miles and made it to the crib without further mishap. The wife is afraid to take it anywhere now. lol. Any suggestions?
  14. I have a buzzing sound in the stereo of my 1989 also. SO you replace the radio or pull it and replace the ALL the capacitors? sheesh.
  15. Works on my 1989! Does everyone sits there and watch it complete or do you start your car and cancel it?
  16. PM sent, ROnnie. Hmm actually the DVDs were finished about 9 months ago, seemed longer.
  17. THey are nice repro plates, I recommend them. and I might buy again with 2 for 1.
  18. See the website for more details or you can send me a PM. Marck, Not me. I dont send out any ads in the mail but I have gotten some different ads for videos (I think from other BCA members) The Reatta Project DVDs are the only DVDs that have the Reatta Workshop that Barney recorded a few years ago. That alone is worth the ten bucks but there is much more on the other two discs - Solid, useful information that will help you maintain your car. 19. Yes I can do that - PM me your email and I will send a PP invoice to you. http://theereatta.8thman.com
  20. About a year ago the Reatta 3 DVD set was completed. Just thought I would repost this for any of the newer forum members. See the For Sale thread for the detailed post.
  21. Marck the pinstripe is painted - one thing I didnt do was check the service label codes but the owner said the car was repainted exactly the same as factory. If true I might entertain the idea of entering some shows, but not until some interior pieces are replaced like I mentioned above there is some wear around the window switches. Are there any NOS parts like that left at all?
  22. Thanks everybody, I know digital pix can be less revealing than true-to-life but this Reatta is super-clean even in person. It has the original floormats, they never used them. The seats look nearly new, headliner perfect and even the steering wheel cover is excellent. There are just a few interior parts that show some wear like around the power window switches. It even earned one trophy, 2nd place at an all-Buick show - the owner showed it to me and it comes with car. I think it could be show quality with some effort, but I'm not really into the car show thing.
  23. There are a lot of Reatta out on the roads - I didnt see hardly any for a long time and then a whole lot of them. The odds of seeing them regularly are fairly slim but it depends on where you live and the time of year.
  24. My wife was posting on some doll MB today and I said "Who's posting on Thanksgiving anyway?" SO I come here and find all you guys on your computers as well, so what the heck! We are going OUT to EAT today, ha ha So have a wonderful thanksgiving day everyone!
