  1. (Hey, the new Forum! Looks good – thank you!) Well, I mentioned that I liked exterior paint color and interior color information. Allow me to bore you…. Buick records indicate that seven 1988 Reattas left Lansing with order code 14 Black Metallic paint (GM paint code WA8767).
  2. I just bought a '90 (i think) Reatta and among a few problems one is the radio. all the lights work but the antenna doesn't come up and the radio doesn't come on at all. an ideas? i haven't had a chance to take a look at the wiring, and would like to have an idea where to start to try and fix this. Driving with out radio sucks. Thanks!
  3. Help!! Anyone with experience on an issue where the Transmission appear to work as intended as far as shift firmness and kick-down is concerned BUT it will not shift into 4th!

    '81 E041

My '89 started intermittently showing the E041 and turning on the SES light about 4 or 5 months ago. It got more frequent in the past 2 months and from about three weeks ago the SES is on all the time from the time I start the car. After reading up a little I figured it was a cam position sensor and interrupter since the light was constant. I finally got time to dig into it a little and snapped a few pictures. First I found that the pigtail looked good. http://i.imgur.com/mvEfhJb.jpg I jiggled the wires a little and none of them seemed loose or damaged. Then I took out the sensor and turn
  5. Just acquired an 88 Buick Reatta.. runs and drives great but the inside is really moldy and it seems a lot of moisture in the car. This car has a high tech Digital Dash and Touch Screen. None of it works, I'm pretty good with wiring but have no idea were to start. Fuses are all good connections seem solid.
  6. Looking for a good working sun roof for my 89 Reatta.
  7. I have a 1988 Reatta. I want to hook up my A/C gage manifold, low and high sides. The low side on the dryer/accumulator is straight forward but the high side has a smaller fitting, too small for my hoses. This is the original R-12 system. The high side fitting I'm seeing is up near the firewall, drivers side. Am I in the wrong place or do I need an adapter to convert this smaller Schrader valve to the standard hose connector? Also, any idea what is this valve size for future reference in case I need to replace a leaky Schrader there.
  8. Ok. I own a 1985 Fiero GT and Im in love with the 80's Buick touch screen. I would like to to do as full an install as I can into my Fiero. I understand that things like the tape deck and air box pieces need to be graphed and thats no problem. I want to know if this is something that can be done and if so, if anyone can assist with any information such as the wiring descriptions or diagrams or if I absolutely need the speedo cluster. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  9. I bought this beautiful car from my friend's mother when her husband died at 92 years of age. He was a major car guy, and this was his driver (My friend swears his father parked it in the garage and covered it daily.) Nobody in the family was interested in owning it or taking the time to sell it, and the local Buick dealer had made a low-ball offer for it. Just to show how little the dealer was offering, I said I'd pay twice the amount, and the next thing I knew, I owned it. I'm not a collector or a mechanic, so while the Reatta is drop-dead beautiful and runs like a new car, I have it covered

  12. THERE ARE FEWER AND FEWER REATTA HEADLIGHT MOTORS AVAILABLE OUT THERE . OR ANY PART FOR THAT MATTER . FOR AROUND $10 YOU CAN REPAIR THEM WITH AN UPGRADE ALUMINUM HEADLIGHT MOTOR KIT . IT IS VERY WELL MADE . THESE PARTS ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT DESIGN THAN THE OEM (CRAPPY) DELRIN BUSHINGS . IF YOUR LIGHTS ACT FUNNY , HAVE CLUNKING NOISES , OR SEEM LIKE THE GEARS ARE STRIPPED . THIS IS THE PART YOU NEED TO FIX THEM . ALSO CHECK THE ARM , THESE DO TEND TO ROUND OUT ON REATTAS . GOOD LUCK IF YOU HAVE THAT PROBLEM MY FRIENDS. MANY PEOPLE BUY A NEW GEAR THINKING THAT IS THE PROBLEM , ONLY TO

  14. I have a hose coming out of firewall left of steering column. Where does it connect and whats its function? If I remember correctly it went under the column and back up the right side but I'm not seeing anything to connect it to. Thanx
  15. First off THANK YOU for all the previous posts, they helped me out tremendously with getting my '90 reatta running again. My girlfriend telling me day and day out to unload the p.o.s. but I refuse to....love the car when its running right. Ok the challenge I'm having is that I changed steering column with a same year rivera. Made a loop with anti-theft, car starts right up, runs strong but I don't have any power brakes or abs. The abs, brake, electrical problem and air bag lights are on. Is it possible the wiring on the rivera steering column is different then the reattas? If so is there an easy
  16. My beloved 1990 Reatta Convertible needs a new home. $1,250 includes a good parts car. Check craiglist.com in maryland for pixs and info. I know I could make more money parting both cars out and want someone to bring the convertible back to life. thanks, steve 410-917-9393 call or text
  17. Hello I have a 1989 Buick Reatta, I've been having a battery drain problem ever since I bought it but recently the drain grew so I put a kill switch in it. Now my car is fantastic.... Except for the past 3 days.... I'll be driving and all of a sudden EVERYTHING in my car shuts off, and then a few seconds later turns back on like all of my computers are restarting themselves, this will happen while I'm driving. But my computers don't seem to turn off because my mpg number doesn't reset or my trip number doesn't reset. It happens if I go over a small bump or so ermines I don't even need a bump.

    '89 Brakes

So I've had my '89 since April and I've had no trouble with it until two weeks ago when I'm driving through town and the red brake warning light comes on. The brakes work fine for three more lights, but when I get to the next one the pedal is reallhard to push down. I used two feet and the car will still stop just fine. Sounds like "no boost." When I get back to campus I get on here and research. I do the brake test and the first step is check the voltage to the pump. I pop the hood and the pump is vibrating and sounds like it's running at 10% power. I check the voltage and it's got 11.9

  23. I have a 1991 buick reatta that the front right turn signal will not light. The bulb is good the relay is not the problem as i switched the left realy, which worksm, to the the right one and it doesnt fix the problem, i placed the right relay in the spot for the left and turned on the left signal and the relay starts to click. The back right signal lights so i dont think its the flasher. I checked the resistor thats mounted front and i get 4ohms from left to mid, 4.4 right to mid, and 8.4 across left to right. Also, when the headlights are on the right turn signal light lights up like the left
  24. I was at the out today and locked my 1989 Buick Reatta in a large parking lot, I'm assuming that someone tripped the anti-theft system. When I returned to my car the security light in the dash was blinking as well as the light indicating the parking lights being on. When attempting to start my car the radio and ac turn on but nothing else. Does anyone know how to bypass the anti-theft system? Things I've tried: Disabling alarm system via "open door unlock from the outside" method stated in the owners manual. Putting the key in the "accessory" position then turning they key to the "run" p
  25. I have two Reattas for sale. I must clear out the yard for the Insurance Company. The master brakes was taken off the firewall of the BLUE Reatta and a few other parts. I am currently driving a WHITE Reatta but have issues with the frame. My mechanic does NOT have time to return the brake system back onto the BLUE vehicle so I have 2 "sick puppies". For someone who can do their own mechanical work you can end up with a great drive able vehicle. It just takes some time and labor of which I do not have. I am not mechanically inclined. I'm asking $1500 for BOTH (or best offer). I just need them o
