  1. SD60 I sent you a PM today.
  2. Thanks Marc, and we never know when the "next time" will be, do we? har har! Have we swapped contact info? I'll check my PMs.
  3. Crank Sensor? Is that a DIY'fer? Or better to take it in to my local greasemonkey? Sounds like you and I had the the same problem. As for the Codes, gotta go look that up in the SM - and its COLD and SNOWING outside so... I guess it can wait until tomorrow. Thanks all. I will update when I know exactly what the problem is.
  4. Hey Tammy, good to hear from u. When you sold your SS, was it to an AACA or BCA member? Are they on the forum?
  5. Okay yesterday we took a little ride to French Lick, IN and after deciding to take a jaunt across the countryside wound up in Jasper (where they make the transmissions, right? Anyway, car had been running okay until we left a store and upon starting it up it idled very rough and backing out there was hardly any power at all, I didnt get out of the parking lot before it quit and then just wouldnt start at all. Pushed it into a parking spot with help from a couple of nice people. At this point I must confess this is not the first time it has acted up like this but this was the first time it would not start at all. This bad idle/ loss of power only happens when the car has been out on the road a while, when its warmed up. In the morning on acold start there is no problem so I am thinking this may be heat-related. Back to the parking lot, after about an hour sitting in a coffee shop I went out and it started up and we went back to French Lick, stopped at the winery, (killed the engine) it started up fine, we left there and I didnt kill the engine until we got home. What does this sound like to you? I have been driving the Reatta a lot this winter, because it gets warm inside really fast!
  6. Hey Guys and gals - as Nic mentioned the work is still ongoing but nearing completion. What he didn't mentioned is I am also going to publish a rudimentary webpage with instructions on how to order. Its going to be a 3 DVD set with one of the discs containing mostly the Reatta Workshop at the 2004 Flint Buick Nationals. Interesting stuff. It will also have the Buick marketing videos from each model year, (a couple of those like 1989 are fairly short as not many changes were made that year). Disc one will have the 1988 premier footage, 1989 and a Reatta Service Center extras section. Disc Two will have the 1990 and 1991 along with the Buick KH video on the Convertible Top which covers it extensively. All the details will be on the webpage which should be up in the next week or two. I will post the URL here and on a post in the For sale section as well.
  7. FWIW- I believe Kingsely also requires your old bellcranks as "cores" when you buy from him.
  8. In the hot summertime (not now here) I noticed this same thing happen in my Roadmaster estate wagon - I didnt think much about it but good to know the reason why. thanks!
  9. Tyres a major factor no doubt. Personally, a little blending of the road enviroment and the interior enviroment doesnt bother me - I like that in a sports car.
  10. My aspirations arent that high. Two more cars I would like Buick Riviera (91-93), to match my Reatta Another Roadmaster estate wagon - WB4 (sans the woodgrain) a 1959 Impala would be fun to have.
  11. Alas, no car is sacred when it comes to this attention-getting business. But then these cars might be in a bone-yard otherwise - and then again maybe not.
  12. Makes me glad to be a coupe owner For anyone interested I can provide a DVD of the Buick know-how video presentation that contains every detail concerning the Reatta's convertible top. You will know-how to adjust every facet of this rather complex unit and keep your top in "tip-top" shape...pardon the pun. It's an invaluable resource to owners of the 90-91 Reatta convertibles. When I first view it myself I was impressed with all the detailed information, and its also easy to understand and follow to get results. PM me for details if interested. BTW: This is also included in the soon to be available "complete" Reatta DVD that is still in the works, if you would rather wait.
  13. We almost hit a huge buck on the way to work this morning. It was dark and the roads were wet and slick...Missed him by inches  Thank God for fast ratio steering b/c I think if we were driving the land barge (96 roadmaster wagon) I couldnt have veered out of the way like the Reatta did with ease. Watch out people and slow down where you know the deer Xcrossings are its that time of year they are on the move.
  14. Yes, but will it also wash the dishes? ; P This reminds me...I have one of these mirrors and I need to install it!!!
  15. I was in your town last weekend to check out some stereo gear in Oolitic. But I didnt drive my 91 - it was the 96 Buick RMW. Nice town think well come back through soon!
  16. I can still use high res digital pics / Scans of: Pewter reattas Large Dealer signage Any Reatta literture brochures Reatta special portfolios w/ all the "goods" Any unusual or odd Reatta merchandise. (I picked up some interesting "R" mugs on ebay) Need this material as soon as possible (ASAP) You need not PM, just use the email addy published above. Thanks- remember this DVD project is for you. It will be what you make it as I do not have the resources listed above in my possesion. If you do make a small effort of your time to contribute. thanks!
  17. Barney - Padgett, sorry I have been busy the last week or two. Your stuff sounds good, PM me. As for the T-Type video footage, bummer - the seller didnt bother to check the label of the disc and what I got was the 1982 model year!@&**$ Good grief, but at least Got a refund. Bumping thread for one last call for Reatta related pics and the DVDs are going into production soon. Can't get started until I have all the materials. So this is the cutoff, if you want to donate/assist then PM me by weeks end (Friday) or just email your high res digital pics or scans to - fairchild (at) theremc (insert period & com) Thanks All
  18. Sorry too far north. Thanks!
  19. What part of IL ? If its up by the Windy I dont think I will make it. Yeah I know about Google Maps, etc - so Im lazy!
  20. You make a very good point Barney. s60's are just 90 models with different window dressing so I dont think I would pay a premium over any of the other rare combos in similar condition. 91 models are different cars in the powertrain and braking system and personely I would pay more for one of the rarer combos in a 91 Reatta than any 1990 model (that I dont care much for white finishes)
  21. How about you guys Modding your Reattas posting some pix in here? Would like to see what ya got.
  22. A pic of the Cover of said book might be okay, do you have one?
  23. Good question - I will be able to answer when I get the discs in hand, still in transit at this time.
