  1. Here is a photo of the cover that I need. If I can not buy one, may I borrow one so I can make a mold and make my own. I just want to keep my switch clean & dry.
  2. I just use drip pans and wipe it up.... It is not a big deal.

  6. I run Shell 30w Rotella Diesel oil, non synthetic. So far so good.
  7. Glad I could help, take your time. Be sure to use the slow JB weld and use waxed paper to build it on, it will not stick and make a mess. Good luck. Neil
  8. I also run nitrogen in my truck and trailer tires, when they get hot (when driving accross the 130 degree desert in July) they have less chance of blow outs.
  9. My first choice would be the 1911 Oldsmobile Limited in the AACA Museum, but I would settle for a 1911 Oldsmobile Autocrat if I had to..... That 1911 Oldsmobile Limited my dream car, to bad they cost so much....... I will have to keep driving the REO I guess....
  10. Yes, it is an aftermarket system that has a sensor for each tire and a monitor that tells the pressure & temperature readings. It has a built in alarm to warn you if there is an issue. It is a product that I am designing for my company. We will be launching it around the first of the year. It can monitor 4-38 tires from 0-200 psi. Here is a photo of the system, the monitor, relay for the trailer and the sensors that mount to the valve stem.
  11. I have a TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) that also monitors temperature on all 8 of my wheels, I know what the pressure and temp is at all times. Knock on wood, I have never had a problem....... There is always a first though....
  12. Since it is a painted part and so thin I would use JB weld and reinforce the back with steel then prime it and block sand it. Then you will be ready for paint.
  13. I carry one mounted spare and two tires. I figure that I can have them mounted anywhere. I hate to be at the mercy of Buba selling me a tire for $500.00 just to get me on the road again. I also carry a HCCA roster with me on long trips, there are quite a few helpfull people that you can call if you need a hand.
  14. I own a 24' Featherlite trailer with a V nose, I love it...... Buy a good trailer that will last you a lifetime..... Never look at what you are towing today. You never know what will be inside it next week. The photos are from a trip I made to pick up a 1954 Buick Super in San Antonio TX from Orange County CA. The right trailer make towing a breeze IMO..... Good luck.
  15. Coker Tires sells Stanweld Rims - Detachable/Demountable or Quick Detachable Rim Type: Detachable/Demountable Rim Size: 26" $875.00 ea x = $3500.00 They are not cheep but they are new and you can move forward.
  16. My REO was doing the same thing, had it cleaned and coated with re-nu, and now the bowl is always clean. The problem is the car will start to run lean and overheat. You will not expect it to be a fuel issue and start buying things like electric fans to try to keep it cool. When it was as simple as a poorly maintained fuel system. Junk in the tank is not normal, have it cleaned and try to park the car with a full tank of fuel. This will prevent condensation from forming and rusting the tank. Check out this link. 1970 Triumph TR6 Restoration Fuel Tank Restoration I hope this helps, best of luck.
  17. You need to drop the tank and have it cleaned and coated. A good radiator shop should be able to do it.
  18. I need one for a 1954 Oldsmobile S88. Thanks you..
  19. I would use one of those Jump Start Batteries with a cigarette lighter port, sit it on the floor of the back seat and plug the GPS into it. It will need to be charged once in a while but is better then trying to adapt anything to the car and cause a problem.
