  1. Be careful on a that system, if it runs too cool it will not circulate the water, you may want to post the question on the Model T forums...
  2. That was a nice car, to bad it went so cheap. I would have loved to own that one. It is a shame that they let it get this far. If they would have not got into Hummer, Saab ans other crap they may be ok.
  3. When are they going to sell Mighty Whitey? It seems like everything may be for sale soon.
  4. "The 1903 Olds you own is what it is and I would think judging it would be a minor part of a National visit". That is not the point, there is no interest in "Old Cars" in the OCA in my opinion. Most people did not even pay attention to it since it did not have 442 on the side. I also have a 1965 Cutlass Conv. (page 333 in the Setting the pace book), a 1954 Olds S88 Holiday Coupe & a 1912 REO Touring car. I have also had my share of muscle cars too. I have a love of cars not just one year or model. I would rather drive my cars then sit there and look at them in a park or lot waiting for someone that knows nothing about the car to pick it a part then get a $10.00 trophy for all of my hard work.
  5. Here are my 2 cents, I hope I do not tick any one off, these are some things that I have observed from years as a past member of the OCA for over 20 years. That is why I am not an OCA member anymore, it is only a news letter club for the west coast people. That is just the way it is, there is no changing that.... I will always love Oldsmobile's too bad the club does not do an east coast, show one year then west coast the next. The main problem is that the people in the east do not like to drive like the people in the west do. The last national I attended was in 2003 in Cincinnati OH, we took our 1903 Curved Dash Olds, they tried to mark me down for oil leaks on a total loss oil system, that is why the NAOC exists. The OCA does not welcome OLD cars only modern cars. The local & national clubs only like to sit in a park and pick a part the same cars every year. How about touring the cars like the HCCA. I have never understood why the people that have cars that you can buy parts for have a fear of driving them unlike the people that have to machine their own parts like to drive them. I have a 84 year old friend with a $200,000+ 1910 Locomobile (with no starter) that has driven it over 10,000 in 10 years. Now that is enjoying your car to the fullest in my eyes. I miss the people but not the politics.......
  6. The only problem with the REO club is that it is a 1920 and up club, there is not much in the news letter for early cars. I was a member for a year.
  7. I use AC Delco filters on my cars & have never had any issues. I use PF24 on my 1963 Cutlass Conv & a 1965 Cutlas Conv. Neil
  8. Try this... http://www.billfair.com./auction_detail.php?ID=399450
  9. A 85 year old HCCA friend told me about this trick but have not tried it. Loosen the nut about 1/2 turn and drive around the block, make a right turn & a left turn anf the taper will loosen. Has anyone else tried this, I need to remove the rear wheels on my 1915 T, and the puller that I have will not work.
  10. I sent both Jesse & Jan photos, let me know if you have any other questions... Neil
  11. Sorry, I was out of town at the Turlock Swap meet, I will send some photos to you this evening.
  12. You will have more control with the paint, it is hard to work with the beads.
  13. I have a friend with a 1909 2cyl Touring, what do you have?
  14. You will need to remove the paint first, it will help it seal. As the paint burns it will cause a leak.
  15. I wanted to pass on some info to people that may need vintage speedo parts or service. I called a gentlemen named Russ Furstnow he had the links I needed and helped me trouble shoot the reason why it broke, what a nice guy. He can be reached at 928-526-1343 in Flagstaff, Az. He also sells at the Bakersfield HCCA meet. Neil
  16. Stewart Speedometer Chain needed, I only need one 1 3/8 twisted link, I broke one on the Holiday Motor Excursion. If I can find new ones I would like to replace all 41 links. Please let me know if you have one or know of a source. Thanks, Neil
  17. The Overdrive has been removed, and I have some detailed photos to e-mail to anyone that is interested. Please let me know.
  18. The Overdrive has been removed, and I have some detailed photos to e-mail to anyone that is interested. It looks like it can be adapted to any torque tube type driveline. Please let me know.
  19. 110 veiws and no replies or messages, I guess there are no extra parts out there????????? Thanks anyway.....
  20. I like to use Testors "Tail Light Red" (transparent candle apple red) paint, it is sold at your local hobby shop. It only somes in a small glass bottle. The Chrome and textured area will still show like "cloisonne". Be sure to clean the area with brake clean first then wash with dish soap to remove any wax or oil. You will have to remove the emblems, lay them flat and fill the ressesed area with the paint. It will level out as it dries. It will only cost you a few bucks, if you do not like it remove it with the brake clean. Neil
  21. I would like to find out what Home Depot uses, it always looks great. Granted they only have foot traffic & a few forklifts using the floor but it looks great.
