  1. In 1973 Buick used the rendition again. This time much closer to the proposal. See below the 1973 Buick Regal Hood Emblem.
  2. Thank you all for the suggestions. Now I have work to do on several compasses.
  3. Buick did use a close rendition of the proposal on the 1958 Limited. See photos of the Limited Side Panel and Trunk Emblem below. Photos from the web.
  4. This is what Buick did instead. Still impressive. First Photo: The Trunk Emblem Second Photo: rear quarter side panel. Best I could do on photos. From the web.
  5. Below is a scan of an original drawing by an unknown Buick/GM Artist. The original drawing is from my collection that I purchased about five years ago from Walter Miller. The drawing was done free hand in colored ink on onionskin paper. The scan does a poor job. The actual drawing is stunning to look at. This artist' conception is of a proposed emblem for the 1958 Buick Roadmaster. In my view, judging from the drawing, Buick was making an attempt to elevate higher in the marketplace the status of the Roadmaster. To bad Buick didn't use it. Very impressive and would have made a great collectible today.
  6. Pete: Thanks for starting this thread. Thank you to all others who posted photos. There is no doubt. Buicks are the Best. Class & Style in any year chosen.
  7. In 1971 My father bought a brand new 1971 Electra 225 Limited to replace his 1964 Buick Wildcat. Same color, vinyl roof, and model (4Dr) as yours. I remember the first day he drove it in the driveway. I loved his '64 and the 1955 Buick before that; but with the '71, I was hooked on Buick's forever. Five years later I bought my first new Buick, a 1976 Riviera GS with landau roof, and the optional stainless and chrome crown strip. Love your car. It brings back great memories. What a great find.
  8. I have several compass' from the 1930's and 1940's that have no or low fluid. How would one be taken apart to refill? Also what type of fluid?
  9. As I said it's wild. I'm a purist when it comes to collector cars. I'm not trying to get a thread started, custom jobs vs. stock. I'm sure that has been expressed many times in the forum. I posted it for interest only. I would rather have the 1956 Buick wagon be stock. Mr Earl is right; a lot of money was wasted.
  10. Folks! You have got to see this car. It is wild. I bet Mr Earl will like this!!! Check out the link below. Buick : Other Delivery in Buick | eBay Motors
  11. Did you change the gas? If not fill up with the highest octane you can find and pour in 4 ounces of Marvel Mystery Oil for every 10 gallons. It always works for me. It may be just a sticky valve. As an added note throw in some dry gas too. You may have some condensation.
  12. If you were my wife, you'd already understand..........and we have been married 36 years and it still feels like yesterday.
  13. When your wife asks you "where you going" and it's ten at night... and your reply is "I forgot something in the garage". Then you'll know your normal.
  14. Here a 1960's postcard from my collection, advertising the Shell Factory in Fort Myers. Fla. Under the sign is a 1964 Buick Wildcat Convertible. The post card claims the sign is 52 feet high. The smaller photo is the best I could do to blow up the "Main Subject". :o:o Sorry it didn't come out better. :o:o
  15. I have found "The Brunn"; identified its owner and the cars location. On December 29, 2009 I started this thread with the hope of locating the 1941 Buick Brunn Bodied Brougham Town Car. Although the thread did not help in finding "The Brunn", it did produce over 16,000 views and over 120 posts. Many individuals provided input on "The Brunn", many photos, much information, and the extension of the thread to other custom bodied Buicks. In my view a very successful thread from an excellent forum. It provided to all of us the opportunity to share information, forge new friendships in the forum, and yes provided us all with a bit of entertainment. For that I am proud to be a member of the AACA. As a courtesy to the owner I shall not disclose his name or the location of "The Brunn". The person is a very private collector with many other highly sought after cars. I'm certain all of us can understand the wishes for privacy. Thank you all. See you in other threads.
