  1. If you have already tried Egge Machine in Santa Fe Springs, CA, then try Lester Harris in Minden, NV.
  2. AmphicarBuyer, Did you purchase the '55 convertible? I am desperately seeking trunk hinges.
  3. By any chance do you still have the pair of '56 Dodge front fender "Lancer" scripts behind headlamps? Thanks.
  4. There were some custom bodied cars on Hudson /Essex chassis late '20s. Keep that in mind when you "can't find a pic like it". What is the wheelbase?
  5. The hardtop was removable / optional. Very few sold /exist.
  6. Received a note back from Wildcat today and they do not have the scripts. However, Vanessa DeMello at Wildcat was kind enough to provide a list of possible resources and I am sharing it to readers: Mo-par City (Mopar only) 815-732-7751 www.moparcity.com Desert Valley Auto Parts 800-905-8024 www.dvap.com Tony's Parts (302) 398-0821 www.tonysparts.com Clay & Sons 636-257-4669 Stephens Performance (Mopar only) (256) 247-1332 www.stephensperformance.com All American Classics in Vancouver, WA (360)-254-8850. www.allamericanclassics.com Classic Car Ranch (Mopar only) 403-843-4289 www.classiccarranch.com Johnny Dee’s (Mostly Mopar) 361-741-7791 www.johnnydees.com Valley Vintage at (440) 355-4085 www.vvap.com Moore's Auto Salvage 605-348-4926 www.mooresautosalvage.com National Mo-Parts Inc. That's being a great part of the hobby.
  7. Mitchell and Big M also did not have. This morning sent requests to Wildcat and Moores . Thanks.
  8. I'm not sure what Mopars all might interchange but Browne Auto Salvage, a collector car yard only, in Sunset Texas, has a good number of cars just prior to and of course following WWII. They have web page and Facebook. Talk to Trenton Browne. Very fair pricing.
  9. ISO a pair of NOS or plateable used front fender scripts behind headlamp on 1956 Dodge. Lancer" script is found on all '56 Royal and Custom Royal hardtops and convertibles. Both were missing on my car. Have tried, Bernbaum, Deception Pass, Desert Valley, Murray Park, others to no avail. Must be a good southwestern parts car out there somewhere. Picture shows the script on Cyde Horst's marvelous '56 CRL convertible.
  10. I have researched numerous VINs with 'Historical'. None of the checks were cashed and yes they would have "expired".
  11. A photo of the grille shell would be very beneficial.
  12. I know of a '56 Belvedere project car at Big M Auto, Williams, CA, but that does not sound close enough to your desire. IF someone offers you a parts car, I need trunk hinges from a '55 or '56 Plym or Dodge convertible. Thanks.
  13. I bought my last 590 from Classic Auto Glass, Poplar Bluff, MO. You'll find the best price there.
  14. Dillinger actually purchased one '33 E-T 8 sedan. Stole others as required for getaways. After all these had the highest horsepower-to-weight ratio of any production car on the planet in 1933..........
  15. Give a call to Browne's Auto Salvage, Sunset, TX. They have a number of prewar cars in the yard. I've walked it but of course was not looking for your hood. Fair chance Trenton has it. He is knowledgeable and prices are very good. They have web page and are on Facebook.
  16. There is a page on Facebook called "Terraplane SEVEN" (for the 7 years Terraplanes were built). Several Terraplane 8 owners are members and a few restorations going on. We have posted cars for sale. Come join us.
  17. My '56 Dodge CRL convertible is in need of two small stainless steel stampings unique to this year. No matter how rough the parts car these are likely to still be present. Is there ANY '56 Dodge 'vert parts car out there anywhere? Maybe you know someone that had a parts car during their restoration? Any lead or contact would be appreciated. If I had a pattern I could get them made. The parts are SS trim caps outside the rear of the quarter windows. Long trim then loops back around the top well. As in the attached photo showing 'right' side.
  18. I absolutely agree with this. That is a station wagon tailgate complete with handle to open it, being used as the back window of the cab. It was a four door wagon so it has the shorter front doors. You will find with inspection that the rear doors have been welded up with the quarter panels. I own a '56 Dodge (US) station wagon. Your truck is very interesting. Have fun with it.
  19. You are very wrong about Chrysler Historical. Those answering inquiries are volunteers who care very much about history and helping. Not every car's individual record still exists and at times the hobby has dug out more information than what the corporation maintained but they do their best with what they have available. And many others share the same experience I have had on numerous occasions over many years. I have never had one of those $45 checks cashed by Historical.
  20. The NAGS # is W590 for your convertible. Phillips Classic Glass in MO reproduces this glass. I've installed one in my car.
  21. Yes, thanks, my mistake and I knew better. Some first place I looked it up six weeks ago it said "Oriental Rose" and that is still stuck in my head. Everywhere else it has said "Chinese Rose". I'll edit - correct the original post.
