Which LEDs did you buy?  This guy has a lot listed.

Would not pass for modern headlights, but they work well in this application. I just need to wait for nightfall to adjust the focus

I’ve just sent my reflectors away to be re silver plated for the 27 I hope they come back looking as good as yours.

I don't know if they were resilvered when the car was restored or not. I don't believe the car ever got being in really poor condition at any time in its history. They sure are shiny though!

BA15S and BA15D are the specs for the base. This seller has all the bulbs listed this way. It makes it great to search out what bulbs are available.

The only thing I am unhappy with is the single filament bulbs were not available in soft white. I will tint my cowl lenses amber to correct the harsh LED blue / white light. I plan on making the cowl lights into signals anyways. (Calm down, this is reversible). They really are not much use otherwise. I suspect the dual filament bulbs would still work in the single contact base. There is no evidence of the LED harshness through the thick red glass tail light lens though and the license plate light doesn't bother me too much.

To make those clear lenses orange like an indicator, just put in an orange bulb. Others have said the red LEDs are brighter in tail lights than white ones.

A superlative suggestion, sir. With just two minor flaws. One, I can't find any 6v BA15S LED amber bulbs, and two, I can't find any BA15S LED amber bulbs. Now I realise that technically speaking that's only one flaw but I thought that it was such a big one that it was worth mentioning twice

Thanks @maok. I thought I had seen some.

 

I am in the same boat! I put white LEDs in my tail lights then Matt Harwood and others on these fora showed me the error of my ways. Oh well, too bad.
