This was sent to me via PM:

My father had several Reatta's over the years. Loved them after having worked on them as concept cars at the Proving Grounds. He died two weeks ago and we are looking for someone to love this car as much as he did. It is absolutely beautiful and in original, perfect condition. 2nd owner. Approx 60K miles. Don't even know where to start with this; any help would be appreciated. Thanks. - Julie Kennedy

not the greatest write up and condition I believe she should have taken the $6400 I would offer around $4000 If I was buying. the point is you can ask all you want but it is only worth what someone will pay.....

I asked her to read the codes [also explained how to download them], so I could help her address the electrical issue, but never got a response. I also told her that yes it was true that there were only 7009 Reattas made in 1989, but that 50% of them were red/tans [of which I have one as well] she would be lucky to get $3500.00.

When she told me that the widow turned down $6400.00, I couldn't believe it. The man bought the car for $9000.00 and must have driven it some, why would they think they would get every dollar back?

With less then 20 hours to go the car is sitting at $1025.00.

Then we have the red haired lady that about 2 years ago bought her 1988 red/tan and with repairs has $5400.00 in it. Why is she mad because she can't get more then $4000.00 for it?

I corresponded with her when it originally became available. She told me a dealership offered her $8500 for it. I told her to take it. That was before her first listing on E-Bay that listed the problems the car has. I would agree that the car is in the $4000 range..

With 2 hours to go best offer is $1325.00

If the man could speak from the other side he would have said to the dealership, "$8500.00? I'm on my way over!"

Keeping it in the family will do no good as something is sure to happen to it, and the comment will be "Grandpa would be rolling over in his grave if...."

If red/tan is acounts for 50% whats rare?

Okay, you asked!!!!

To me, rare is defined by the production numbers of the LINE of cars, or the number of a LINE of cars left in existance.

@2000 = rare (example - 1990 Reatta convertible(@2100), 1991 Reatta coupe, (1215).

@200 = exteremely rare (1991 Reatta convertible(<200 released), 2006 Thunderbird(>200), 1959 Eldo convert(101), 1956 Porsche cabrio(@200).

'91 convertible Black/Flame red/ Black top

7 were built - only 2 left!

1 is mine, Black Beauty - last one on the road.

1 is in Bulgari's collection - the last Reatta convertible made - never to be available for sale.

Though the general collector market as not yet recognized the Reatta, it's rarity is equal to other extremely rare cars who command six-figure values.

Reatta's time will come, when the Barret-Jackson crowd wakes-up.
