Kenneth Stewart
This morning I went to open the trunk and the handle broke off. What am I going to do now. The castling broke. Anyone have one to sell? I just got the wipers repaired and the horn working. I though I was in good shape. Let me know if you can help. SMB
A friend of mine, Ben Wenberg, used a similar handle from an electrical box on his 39. It looked just like the original.Link to examples: http://www.lockmingyi.com/Handle_locks/handlelock00.htm Edited August 17, 2014 by SMB (see edit history)

SMB
I doubt that he has a part number or any way to identify the part. Before you go that route you should try vendors such as Bob Kaptyn (might have spelled that incorrectly, Vern Ediger, and others. Post on the Studebaker Swap page and the Studebaker Drivers Club forum. If those sources searches fail then get measurements and get on the internet looking for locking t handles. Search the internet for Studebaker vendors.

studeq
Robert; The handle in your photo above is correct for the 1940 Commander and President. The one shown in the image below is for the 1939 Commander and President. They are different and will not interchange.

jerezstude
Ken, Greetings from York PA. Finished repairing your trunk handle this afternoon and it should be stronger then new, which is not saying much as the original design was rather poor. I even repaired the lock and it should work as new. Am leaving for AACA sentimental tour on Sat. AM and will try to ship if I have time. See you on Glidden tour.
