Stuart, you gave it away too quickly, we're s'posed to agonize a wee bit longer over these things!

There goes dinner...a '65 Electra!

Tom,

Couldn't let you agonise for too long.

When you started asking if it was even GM I knew you were in trouble and I was worried you would start looking at photos of pommie ( english ) cars trying to ID it, I wouldn't wish that on anyone!!!!!!

57wagon wins the kewpie doll! I couldn't resist, only 'cause when I saw one at Charlotte AutoFair last Spring, I thought, "Now there's a sexy Buick", only to learn that instead of a Tri-Shield, it had a Trident. I was hoping it was the new Lucerne!

I promise I won't cheat again!

JohnD,

You know, wags back in the day decried, "Suddenly, It's 1949!" at first sight of the 3-piece

GM B Body's backlight (shared by 40 & 60 Series, and all Olds models) treatment.

It was a direct slam at the designers, 'cause all '57 Mopars had a light,

refreshing look to them, and their slogan was, "Suddenly, It's 1960!"

I'm not surprised about that. The way I figure it, that three piece window is just... cool... and leave it to Buick to put it on a body with classic written all over it. But I am biased.

The 2nd car I had ever bought with my own money was a 57 Special convertible. Bought in 1972 for $30.00, with 55K on the clock, and I don't mean 155K.

Needed a top, seats, and exhaust system. Ran like a dream and looked great once polished. Stupid me, I listened to my Dad who bribed me to sell the car in consideration of temporary custodianship of a 69 Cutlass Convertible. Dad was sort of a control freak and kept control of the Cutlass by registering it in his own name.

In his defense I had 5 other brothers and sisters and he had to do something to control the insurance costs.

But I sold that Buick for $100. The biggest mistake I think I ever made!!! 2 years later I got my first 56, a Roadmaster, and it's been Buick most of the way since then.

Name the Buick(s) this came off of. approx overall 4 x 2 1/2 glass 2 1/2 diameter.

BTW JohnD can you resize your 57 photo so it doesn't cause the text to go off the screen. Since last time I checked the Buick resizer was not available, here's a neat little quickie resizer site. resize2mail
