This one has got me stumped !!

I greatly appreciate the input but I do not believe that it is a Rockne. (from the photos I've seen ) The rear window, which operates up and down for the rumble seat, doesn't seem to match up. And then there is the roof. This one has a lot of folks scratching there heads.

Thanks,

Greg

The book "Studebaker Century" has an illustration of a coupe that matches your car (page97). It clearly shows the rear slanting front door line, but the drawing shows a rear window that is too oval. However, there is an actual photo on page 91 of your car being used by the Indiana State Police. It clearly shows the rear window with just the rounded ends, and the same flat, low top. I'd bet my barking dog that your car is a 1932 Rockne Model 65 two-window coupe. See attachment.

Hopefully there's enough left of your extremely rare car to get restored. I found on the Internet where a shop in Florida has started street rodding a 1932 Rockne two-door sedan. Butchering a wonderfully usable car to boot. I love street rods, but I don't like the butchering of rare cars in nice tour condition.

Here's the website with contact information: http://www.timemachinesinc.com/32rockne.htm

PLEASE: Don't shoot the messenger. If seeing a great old car stripped of its original mechanicals, DO NOT GO HERE. You've been warned.

Good luck, Greg. I hope you're able to save your car with what this guy might have. I don't know how old these photos are, so he may have already "trashed" them. confused.gifcrazy.gifmad.gif

Another great car going to "HOTROD HEAVEN" !!!

These guys should be tared & Feathered!!!

I hope they have saved them for you!!!

That is a perfect example of what NOT to modify or hotrod. A rare car in good shape. That is a damn sin. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

What a lovely example of a Studebaker...at least there are photos of it in the original condition.

You are probably right. There is a "hot rod" shop north of me that gave my friend all the mechanical parts to a 1938 Buick. He said it wasn't worth his time to try and find a buyer (not even on eBay), and that he usually just junked the parts.
