The chrome is original on the grill so it's not bright and sparkly like new chrome, but it is in good shape for 73 years. My thoughts were to add a little pizzaz with a nice chromed v guard yet keep the original chrome of the grille intact.I guess you all want the chrome grill exposed which is fine by me. West Peterson Posted March 13, 2006 Share Posted March 13, 2006 The correct stone guard is V-shaped, but I agree with everyone here, it doesn't need it. Too many people add too much glitz to Packards (and other luxury cars) and they simply don't need it. I like them on certain 7th and 8th series cars, but the 10th,11th,12th grille and louvers are such Packard perfection that I don't think it can be improved, only masked. One man, one vote.
