48Super
Check out this car on Ebay. For sale is '48 Super Sedan with a turbocharged straight 8. Looks to be a professional installation which was done some time back. Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Buick-Bui...589528138QQrdZ1Has anyone ever seen a similiar installation? old-tank
That ole drag racer Bill Stoneberg should get this one or put a turbo on his.
Bill Stoneberg
If I were going to modify my 47, I would put a nailhead into it.But this is an interesting idea...
Robert Newquist
I have seen this car in the Springfield, MO area. The owner had it for sale a few years back, can't recall his name but his shop was west of Springfield in Marionville, MO I believe. He had some beautiful customized Buicks from late 40's/early 50's! His work was first class! This car came from Texas if I remember right, don't recall how it ran but it was a very early professional installation. Somehow a Buick turbo straight eight sounds like an oxymoron!
NTX5467
A turbo would be ultimately easier to do than a supercharger, but the issues of the strength of the various drive line components (from the from the flywheel to the rear wheels) might be a greater issue. But those issues might also apply to anything with more power and torque that might be put where the DynaFlash used to reside.Enjoy!NTX5467
