Guest trevor ward
hi guys...., As per usual i am off to have a good look around the big Beaulieu autojumble at the national motor museum down in the gorgeous New Forest in two weekends time.... The link is www.beaulieu.co.uk for a great look around some superb old cars!! I have asked in the past if there is any interest in my looking around for any gizmos or grommets etc. for that old British car in your collection... the one that needs that elusive part....?? Well...... same offer coming up... have a think and if you need a little part of some description, and it can be easily packaged up ( so no chassis or bodyshells ) !!!!! then give me a holler.......... 1937hd45
Thanks! You may start a trend, no body bothered to post photos of Meadowbrook or Pebble Beach, I wonder if they will bother with Hershey photos. The Hot Rod sites cover these events, but the worlds most wonderful collector car, gee it's 25 years old and got wheels site can't be bothered. I don't need proof that guys in the UK have fun with cars, but others do! Have fun!
Terry Bond
Ah -Beaulieu. Brings back many great memories. I first attended back in the mid 70's and it was amazing. Could you see people lining up at Hershey to buy admission tickets? Yup, thats the way it was, and I think still is. People were patiently lining up (or joining the cue as it's known there) to get in. It was a fantastic treasure hunt among the autojumble stalls. Early stuff was everywhere and if you collected mascots, spark plugs, brass, etc. it was there by the ton. I was lucky enough to be there when they expanded it and added a separate area for Sunday-Only vendors. Naturally, everybody who came back in on Sunday morning swarmed straight over to that area. Wish I had taken some photos I could post-I do have some old 33mm slides. Any ideas how I might get a few up on this site? I have not been back in years and judging from some of the pictures on the Beaulieu website it certainly has changed (hasn't everything!) Still I'd love to get back for a visit and enjoy another pint at the Beaulieu Roadhouse. I still have an autojumble poster from that pub. It was hanging behind the bar and when I asked to have it, the bartender pulled it down and said - here-everyone sign this for our "Yank" friend. I not only got the poster but free drinks that evening too! At that time there weren't too many from this side of the pond attending, and today that poster is a real treasure to me.Terry
Guest AKICHU
Hi guysI have attended the Beaulieu autojumble 8 times (and I still didn?t get enough?) till 2 years ago, the new forest is something else, it's like a scene from a fairy tale.Trevor hi! There is another smaller autojumble only 12 miles north/west from Beaulieu called Netley Marsh Eurojumble. It used to be for Motorcycles only, since 2 years ago they have added also auto parts stands, it?s the same dates as Beaulieu however they start already on Friday, so if you can't find something in one, you most likely will find it in the other. Here is the link to their website:http://www.classicbikeshows.com/showindex.asp?showcode=NMEJ05&showref=CBS200512483143Irit

R W Burgess
Terry, i haven't tried this yet, but how about trying to scan them with your regular scaner. I'm curious to hear how that works. Wayne
Guest trevor ward
Right then.... i have posted about 30 decent shots in the photo gallery and have put a link to it Beaulieu autojumble '05... ENJOY! Hope you get some enjoyment from having a look thru them..!! I actually went on the saturday, as i have learnt from previous experience that if you go on the sunday, all of the vendors get it in their heads to start packing away mid afternoon, and that kinda really annoys me and spoils the day! If you go on the saturday you can have a good 8 hours look....and you need it too! They have three fields open to the punters and they are red green and yellow ( for ease of identification, as to where you are or have indeed been )!!! The motormart, or cars for sale area had a few gooduns again and i have given each shot a brief note... I particularly enjoyed seeing THREE De Loreans side by side in the car park , all with Dutch plates!!!!! As Terry said....we Brits do love to stand in line, but that is another thing i would recommend....that is buy your tickets prior to the day and waltz right by the lemmings and go straight in!! The pictures do tend to cast it as a lousy day, but apart from a shower at 11 in the morning it was pretty bright and warm... Had the obligatory burger or two and a good day was had by all!! If you can ever get over here for it, you will have a ball.... ESPECIALLY if you need something! They say that if Beaulieu cannot come up with it then you have had it!!!! Enjoy.... Trevor..... R W Burgess
Great pictures Trevor. I especially loved the blue ACE motorcycle. Thanks, Wayne
24T42
Wayne,I don't think you can scan a negative with a regular scanner. There are scanners that can do that. We bought one years ago that does slides, film negatives, and pictures - everything. It very was affordable and does a wonderful job. We wanted a way to convert our old pictures, slides, etc. into a computer format for archival storage.
R W Burgess
Thanks Judy, I knew of those too. My family has a lot of early photo slides of the early farming on our property when I was but a baby. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> Can't wait to get the time to transfer them to a booklet form.
